Why did the U.S. Army adopt the M4? Isn't the loss in range that a soldier can hit a target a step backwards? Did they do it just so that soldiers don't have to carry heavy equipment?
>>28426657
20" barrel hard to do in close quarters, senpai.
>>28426657
at 50000 rounds per kill, theyre better off just buying whatever is cheaper and lighter
>>28426673
That's it? What happens if they need to fight in a field
If anybody have any high res picture, it's time to share!
If you have any other cool bullpup to show, please do it.
Interested to see kel tec's RDB when it comes out.

What's the status on the MSBS anyways? I've been trying to find the latest news about it on Google. Last thing I saw was that Frag Out Polish Magazine about it.
>>28403292
If it ever comes out. How many years has it been now?
Be me
>shooting 1911 for new years
>load 7 round mag
>shoot 4 rounds in to the ground
>hammer goes on half cock pull it back to full cock
>pull the trigger three round burst before it stops
>thought should fix it later this is awesome
>load another mag shoot 5 rounds
>again 2 round burst at the end
>since have fix the issue mainly because afraid of out of batter discharge
>check brass in the morning no bulge
It was awesome dumping psuado full fun 1911 but wouldn't risk it so fixed it in morning
WUT

>since have fix the issue mainly because afraid of out of batter discharge

Can you rewrite that in English?
>mfw paying 55 cents per round for 54r
>>28426537
Sounds like you got ripped off.
>>28426537
>mfw people are paying the price of a Ruger American or Savage Axis and claiming that the nugget is still superior as prices continue to rise as does ammo
How do the SKS poorfags feel about them now costing roughly $100 less than a WASR at this point?
>>28426537
You got ripped off. Surplus is 30 cents per round here, bottom of the barrel Tulammo is 40.
What does /k/ think of WASR-10 rifles. Also, AKM general.
>>28402236
They are mostly fine now and give you a good bang for your buck. Back in the day they were often shit, but qc got better.
Just got a wasr 10 2 weeks ago brand new. 600 rounds and zero malfunctions. Used chicom, magpul and Korean 30 round mags with tula ammo. Absolutely flawless
>AKM general
take it to the ak general you faggot
Also, they're shit, they have always been shit, get a real fucking ak.
Help a /k/omrade out.
Let's say I could hypothetically get my hands on an original, unissued 70s M16A1 on legal ways. How much would worth would it be?
A federal cock in your ass if it's not registered.
>image of an A1
>has a fucking A2 lower
My 'tisms hates this trend.

two seconds of google shows non mint samples going for ~26k.
you find a mint, transferable m16, maybe 30k. but you cant.
Question.
Sometimes in movies you see the PTSD'd veteran returning to society and he just cant find his way there. Often those people feel a weird longing back to war and conflict.
Is this true? Do veterans here (how strange it may sound) miss deployment?
>also, deployment memories thread
I miss being deployed inna Detroit.
Lots of fun, miss being there.
>>28401714
>get to fuck around with guns in the jungle or desert of lawlessness for the entire deployment
>free meals, ammo, and a bed
i can see why they would want to go back, i imagine civilian life just does not compare in anyway to that way of life
>>28401751
What I mean is that even though some had terrible experiences (hence the PTSD) still want to go back to that 'terrible place'
Hello /k/omrads, what do you think of pic related?
>>28401656
Looks ok, don't understand why thumb stud is so hard to get at compared to Buck though
>>28401673
Haha, just saw that
>>28401656
Love it. My current EDC. Minor complaints would be the thumb studs being kinda annoying to get to, as the other guy said, and they won't be your main deployment method for that reason. Flips nice and smoothly, I like the clip, and I guess sometimes it's a little hard to get the belly and tip perfectly razor sharp, but maybe that's my fault since this is the only knife I freehand on. Personal preference issues would be no stop pins, and instead using the thumb studs (that's partly why they suck so much), but otherwise it'll have as much cutting edge as a Buck 110, and the plunge grind and sharpening notch are well done. Overall, a really well done knife, perfect for EDC if you don't mind a smaller, lighter blade
Is there any way the army will accept me?
I got prescribed medication for anxiety in early 2014 which lasted about 4 weeks, then I got prescribed medication for anxiety and depression in 2015 which lasted about 8 weeks.
The only medication I actually used was the anxiety med (beta blocker).
I'll be honest and admit the only reason I was depressed/anxious was because I used to be a heavy rec drug and steroid user and would get extreme highs and extreme lows the next day. Some comedowns were so bad I'd get panic attacks which led to me thinking I had something wrong with me.
Now I'm off all drugs and living a lot better and want to become a soldier and was wondering if it was possible?
Probably not with such a heavy god damn recent history of illegal drug use, steroid abuse and depression.
Which Army?
Your picture is a UK Marine but I assume you're talking about US?
>>28401474
I should have specified it's the UK armed forces I'm talking about, particularly the Royal Marines or Parachute Regiment.
My dad thinks handguns are only for shooting people. He's so stubborn about it. How can I convince him that they are worth buying for safety/fun?
>>28425704
tell your dad to grow a pair
>>28425704
Fun is relative and doesn't safety mean shooting people?
>>28425704
You're dad sounds like a big faggot. Tell him to vote for his cuck master Bernie Sanders and stfu
We all know that this suitcase, known as the Football, contains the nuclear launch codes for the President to order a nuclear strike. But what if something happened to it? What if it got lost or stolen? How long would it take to get a replacement? Is there any back-up system in place to allow submarines to launch without Presidential consent?
>thinking anyone on /k/ knows the nuclear launch protocol
>>28424732
Won't stop us from making shit up, but i heard if you lose a launch code the nuke is bricked.
>>28424690
>But what if something happened to it? What if it got lost or stolen? How long would it take to get a replacement?
What if some gangster got a hold of it and tried smoking it innajoint?
What if Obama promised to keep it safe and forgot about his promise?
What if the Jews tried to purchase it from the state?
What if the Chinese captured it, and began mass producing knock offs to corner the American market for launch code briefcases?
You need to ask the real questions.
>19 year old eurofag with no envy in staying in europe
>Healthy , good stamina and mental health
>Wants to go to the us to become a police officer
What are my chanche's?
Dude, wtf.
You don't wanna live in the US, seriously.
Dont move to another country only because of your hobby
>>28401425
>You don't wanna live in the US
Jealous europoor detected
You have to become naturalized first I think.
So I was in Arizona visiting family (I'm from there originally) and my father-in-law knows I like guns, so he took me to cabelas to purchase a rifle.
Cabelas refused me for having an out of State ID, company policy. Not a law tho, went to mom & pop gunstore, told them I was out of state, they said I could buy a long gun, buy not a handgun, NP.
>well that depends also, which state are you from?
Wisconsin.
>OK you're good, we don't do NY or CA
Then he followed with ",none of the commie states" ha-ha might have been a /k/ommando.
Long story short, when he did my background check I was put on a 5 day wait.
No criminal record, hunter, vet.
The guy said "Phx cops get put on holds all the time".
Wtf /k/? Why was my second amendment questioned in the #1 state for gun Rights?
Not OP, but if I'm stationed in California and have an out of state driver's license can I still pick up a lower I ordered?
I'm really not eager to wait for my lower to get to the FFL and have him tell me I need a California Driver's license. He probably deals with 90% people who are in the same situation, but I'm not sure
>>28424378
Cabela's was probably just a company policy issue. I have no idea why there was a wait on just a rifle, what city were you in?
>>28424378
Because of their company policy. They're a private entity and not a good place to buy a gun, on the whole.
Your rights weren't violated. So shut the fuck up.
What will it take for aircraft development to accelerate again like it did after WW2?

War, or even better, cold war. A worthy advesary and US fear mongering helps too.
