Sup /k/?
Im looking into stockpiling food. Now here is the thing, I live in an apartment and I have a bug out place but. No food. So what does /k/ recommend for long term storage foods and related goods? I have a smoker and hunt a bit but good game is already scarce around here. So smoking/salting is only supplementary.
TL;DR what kinds of preserved foods/brands should I get that will last forever~? Canned goods, MREs or Brands?
Pic unrelated.
If this takes off I hope it turns into a /k/ooking thread.
hot pockets and instant noodles
pretty much what I normally eat, so theres no extra risk involved with switching diet when SHTF
stay safe brothers
Sugar keeps literally forever and has a ridiculous amount of calories per pound. Peanut oil is also extremely calorie dense and lasts for about three years.
Needless to say, these are dietary supplements and not staple foods.
For that, you might want to try whole grains (have a crank operated grinder and powdered milk.

Sorry, OP. No matter much you suck lockheed's dick - You will never place your NEETy lard ass in a pilot's seat.
What's the best gun for a /fit/izen? I realize my gains won't protect me from a tribe of dindus but I'm a bit limited by budget, can't really buy a handgun because I'm 19 so rifles or shotguns are next best thing, I was thinking getting a mosin because cheap ammo and reliable what do you guys recommend?
Your gains won't protect you from being off topic, either.
What do you want to do with said gun?
I have a 590A1. 12 gauge is ubiquitous, plentiful, and cheap just about everywhere.
>>28415656
Home defense, maybe even hunting
I'm wanting to build a .300 BLK pistol for under $500. What are some good kits with everything included except the receiver? (7-13 inch barrel) Will consider rifle kit if significantly cheaper.
>pic related
Thanks
>>28415504
>(7-13 inch barrel)
>SBR a subsonic round with awful dump truck ballistics like .300BLK
Fucking why
>>28415504
>Under $500
If money is an issue then don't even fucking look at .300 BLK. Get a 5.56 or 9mm build and save yourself the pain and misery of selling it after 100 rounds.
>>28415523
Smaller barrel means less noise, bud
>>28415547
I can get 50 rounds of BLK where I live for under $20
What's up /k/, how much ammo do you have stored. I've got around 300 in the ammo can of 223. What should I stick up on?
>>28415478
You clearly haven't hoarded enough .22lr
>>28415478
I usually keep several thousand primers, several pounds of powder and maybe a thousand bullets.
Actual finished ammo I usually only keep a few hundred on hand
>>28415478
I don't even bother counting anymore.
What gun is this?
>>28415405
The kind you'd use on a big guy.
>>28415415
Whats with the star wars stuff.
Its a HK USP compact
Use imfdb man
Discuss defensive loads, personal experiences, shitpost about 9mm
I'm getting a .45 for home defense/CCW/hiking in big cat territory and really don't know anything about the recent defensive loads. What would you suggest? I'm most likely getting a full-size USP.
>>28415347
>Defensive Loads
HSTs or Gold Dots.
Really any Grainage will work.
185 gr Remington gold saber or bust
Also there's no such handgun in existence that will work well for all ccw, home defense, and hiking.
>>28415426
>Also there's no such handgun in existence that will work well for all ccw, home defense, and hiking.
.357mag handloaded for whatever situation
The how or the why doesnt matter now. The last choice you get to make will be where. You will be surviving and hopefully thriving for the rest of your life, where will you choose to make a go of it?
High mountains? (Rockies, Appalachians) low mountains? (Valley, or at the foot of the mountains) the great plains? (great fertile ground, almost no defense) South West? (Brutal summers, no winter, agriculture difficult in many areas) South East? (Brutal humid summers, no real winter, perfect farming and hunting.) North East? Mild summers, brutal winters. Agriculture comes easy but short grow seasons. Hunting can be difficult)
Where and why? Ill share mine after this post
Wow that picture is really stupid.
I guess it's true that you can survive 3h without shelter but I'm pretty sure you can survive a lot longer than that.
I would go for the foothills of the mountains. Near defensible, difficult to navigate terrain. Near the middle line of the country to avoid the harsh winters and give as long a grow season as possible without having to deal with the easily life threatening heat of the southern half of the country.
Must have a water source. Creek, stream, or small pond. Not near a large river. Not near a coast line or high population center.
So it looks like Colorado, West Virginia, Utah area for me
Can anyone tell me about these medals? I tried to look them up, but I only found the rainbow WWII victory one. I believe these medals belonged to my grandpa, but he died before I was even born. My mom never talked about him being in the military (she never talked about her parents at all, really).
There wasn't any documentation along with the medals, or even his name anywhere. If I knew his name I could look him up somehow, right?

You should throw them off the bridge at cars below

This OP its obvious and if you diddnt know that then kill yourself and visit your grandpa in heaven. Tell him thanks for his service from me though.
Hi /k/. I live in a high-crime American city and want to buy my first handgun for home protection and concealed carry, as well as for recreational shooting. I'm eyeing up the CZ 75 D PCR Compact.
Convince me otherwise.
>>28414829
Save your money and move to a low crime suburb.
nothing wrong with czs
>>28414838
you have a very interesting definition of saving money.
hello, K/ommando's
while cleaning up my attic I stumbled upon a French mine dectector. I put some new batteries in it and it works and can detect metal but only 10cm deep or so. anyone ever seen something like this and can tell some more about it ?
>>28414808
How did I it get in your attic?/
>>28414808
Fuck I really wish I had one in early November when I was clearing the field in my back yard.
>>28414821
my grandpa said he bought it form a shady guy a while ago but never really checked it out
Howdy /k/ameraden, I am in need of assistance.
I'm planning out my first AR build, which I'll be pursuing sometime this summer. I'm familiar with all but 2 things: the gas system tuning and barrel selection.
Barrel selection is more a matter of practicality, since I'm going to be subjecting to some pretty rough use if my past use with my buddies' AR is any indication. I was thinking of a standard chrome-lined barrel, 14.5 inches, with a 1:8 twist, but I'm wondering if I'd be better served with a CHF barrel. Also what profile is going to be durable but not heavy as hell?
Next the Gas system. I know that mid and carbine length systems overlap, so is there an advantage to one or the other?
Lastly I need a rail, and I'd like to save weight in some way. Is there a better option than keymod?
AR general I guess. Pic unrelated.

you are autistic as fuck
pic related i would trust a koala bear with everything from handling my weapons to serving in combat with me before i trusted you

U wot m8
How is this autistic on the home board of guys that have literally had sex with a nugget and sleep with their rifles because muh raifu?
>>28414846
I sleep with my rifle because if I left it outside of my sleep system I would probably either be smoked to shit or have a fucked up, freezing cold, icy M4.
I fuck my wife when I can
And this board is gay as fuck because of the people (like you) who are so fucking retarded and pussy they can't contribute anything good so make retarded threads to draw attention to themselves
Any current/former law enforcement explorers here? I was in the program for four years, left when i was a sergeant

M&P Shield or Walther PPS

Hk45c
How effective (or not) is 25acp?
At what maximum range is it useful for self-defence? If you hit anywhere other than head or heart is it any more effective than a menacing gaze?
What is your experience with the cartridge?
From small barrels it outperforms .22lr.
>At what maximum range is it useful for self-defence?
If you're concerned with that maybe you have to reconsider if what you're doing is truly self"defence"
It's the ultimate cheap plinking/vermin killer cartridge because you can reload the cases with #3 buckshot.
>>28414267
I shot a piece of pine with it once and the bullets bounced off and didnt deform, just sort of got scraped up.
If youre target is made of pine I would be afraid.
>>28414267
I've got an Astra Colt in .25 and I wouldn't trust my life to it at 7 yards. When I carry it, it's as a BUG in my pocket. The kind of gun you press into someone's ribs and mag dump to get them off you.
