If Helium had been easier to mass produce, would we have had more airships in WWI-WWII?
>>29217862
The US actually used a hella of a lot of blimps in WW2 and the brits used loads in WW1
>>29217862
>>29217886
brits used a lot of blimps during the blitz as passive AA
>>29217862
Maybe. The trouble with blimps is that all you have to do is load up your fighters with incendiary and the whole thing goes up like kindling.
are there any rifles in canada that are nonretricted, but can take ar 15 parts (trigger, charging handle, mag, grip, stock, guard, bolt carrier group, barrel)?
as far as i understand, the law states that if it can take an AR 15 upper then it's restricted. but are there non ar 15 uppers...that take ar 15 components? i mean, what if the armory made their in house parts but it happened to support ars by "sheer coincidence"? can the government still designate it as such?
pic unrelated. probably a famas.

Alberta Tactical Rifle has an AR-10 clone witj proproetary receivers that is non restricted called the Modern Hunter
Average about $4000 based on options
Theyre also release a new rifle this spring called Modern Varminter in .223 Wylde. Same concept it will be nom restricted. Base cost is 3500 on preorder rigjt now.
NORTH EASTERN ARMS has an ar 10 clone being examined by rcmp right nownfor classification. Theure hoping NR.
Likely 1500$
You can an AR 180B But not worth the price being asked fornthen IMO. tjeure going for 1600 -1800. Generally shitty.
Just buy a Tavor.
Until AR is non restricted im not touching them.

Why do people who like guns wear cargo shorts as well?
They're common, not special snowflake tier, and cheap.
>>29217819
Because they're comfortable and easy to wear
Hey /k/, this is a bit /diy/ but I believe it's still best to ask here.
I need affordable storage for my guns, it's gotten out of hand, I kept buying shit whenever I could get a good deal during sales and shit, but these guns are everywhere. I sleep on the fucking couch because it takes too long to move them all elsewhere.
I'm looking for an affordable way to store them so that they take up less space.
I think the best way for me would be to have a setup that has them leaning against a rack side by side.
Any good things I could alter to turn it something ?
I have all kinds of lengths and I would like it to be able to suit 30 long guns. 50 if possible.
On the internet I saw something made out of pallets, which was a good idea, but the ones I have access to are shaped differently than what I saw.
Any advice on this matter ? How do you guys do it (without dropping lods of emone on a safe)?
Pic related is the pallet rack.
>>29217788
a fucking safe
If you have that many guns then there is no reason not to get a good safe.
>>29217788
buy 50 gun socks and throw them bitches under the bed.
Hope you never get broken into.
It's cute but is it worth $5,000?
no , you can buy 25 sks's with that money

I wouldn't mind at all if this thread just became
An SRS is worth X amount of Y rifle.
>>29217565
Do they have a hydraulic trigger?
Autistic question here, is the recoil in Counterstrike Global Offensive "realistic"? Or is it way way more than real recoil? Or is it less, and real recoil is actually far more unforgiving?
I'm just curious because I see all this stuff about how automatic fire is almost never used by US soldiers and I wonder if there is even any point to it being on firearms at all anymore.
Also general questions thread for retards like me.
the ballistic dont compare to the fire mode and the "hipfire" in cs
>>29217253
Dunno much about the recoil of other guns besides my WASR but from the look of the muzzle break I'd say GO is right about how an un-sighted AKM would travel in it's select fire mode.
I just picked up an SKS and the magazine has about an 1/8th of an inch play left and right on the magazine (very slight wiggle). I just picked it up and haven't taken it out to the range yet.
Is that a normal thing for the SKS? This is my first one.
Hi /k/. Noguns here but I want to start. My question is, is a Nugget just a meme at this point or is it worth purchasing one?
First, stop being a cunt.
Why are you purchasing a firearm?
Target shooting?
Hunting?
Home defense?
Or is it just a [spoiler]meme?
The nugget is (by now) overpriced for what you get. Its fun, its loud, its indestructible, and it was used to defend Mother Russia from decades of enemies.
Now git
It's a good gun, and still decent boom for your buck but there are better choices now that prices have gone up.
Get an SKS.
>>29217184
Probably for target shooting and if shit ever hits the fan I will have an emergency gun.
What is it?
Isn't that a blyat?

Is it worth buying an expensive magnifier? The prices range all over the place. All they are are just little monoculars with pic rails. Anyone have experience with a cheapo vs an expensive one?
Magnifiers are shit, regardless of how much you pay.
I have the exact magnifier in your OP and it was... Okay, I guess. I had it set up with an aimpoint PRO But I don't think it alligned perfectly with the RDS. It felt cheap like it would break if it ever got hit by something. The finish wasn't that great. I think you'd be better off with either getting just a dot sight or a magnified optic. Or maybe even a variable maginified optic. I got a Vortex Strike Eagle eventually and it seems decent enough. I also know it's tough because I dropped a couple nuggets on it by accident.
I wish I'd been able to find the Aimpoint magnifier because those look like they're alot more solid than the vortex one.
>>29216925
care to elaborate?
Anyone down for a rainy day meet at SR&G? The rain will probably keep it from being really busy. We're shooting from covered positions anyway so we won't get wet. Bring an umbrella for changing targets.
I'm also inviting some /o/ posters that are hazguns.

My boots (pic related) have the treads worn to nothing. Today I nearly face planted into a tractor pushing it into my garage after slipping on some wet leaves, so it's time for them to go - but I don't know what to get in replacement. What's a good place to try on new boots? Are there makes / models I should look for or avoid? Just something to wear all day, every day.
Fits like a glove, good dry traction, waterproof.

So I can sort of make out the "Harl_ Dav_"...but what model boot?
Also...Danner, Red Wing.

mostly what ever patrol would carry, maybe a compact over a duty sized for comfort. cuffs, a radio they keep in their car and maybe a tiny flashlight
How many magazines is a reasonable amount
>I have 6 ar mag 3 1911 mags and two glock mags
>I wanna stock up on them and am getting another Magpul glock mag
>my main concern is having backups in case one wears out and range use so I can load all them up and not bother with loading at table
What would you would a good amount to last in the election season because glock mags from Magpul going for 15 bucks and I could easily see them going for 50 during hitlarys reign
Also the 1911 mags are the least of my concerns
Can't imagine anyone stocking up on mags that are legal even under my safe act so am not getting one unless great deal locally
As many as you need, really. If one eventually does wear out it isn't a scavenger hunt to find a new one unless you have a rare weapon. The 10-round for my .22 scout rifle (circa 1940) went missing and I know I'll never find a new one unless I get lucky at an auction website. I have 4 magazines for my carry pistol. The concealed 9 round it came with, the extra 15 in the box, and two new ones I got in a packaged deal. I use the extras for training so I don't have to unload my carry ammo every time I want to go to a range. I don't ever see there being a huge magazine scare in my state so there's no point in speculating on the market.
>>29216240
Get as many as you can hoard, they will only ever be scarcer and more expensive than they are now. I have a dozen 1911 mags and at least 30 AR-15 mags. I buy a few every time I see a good price, can't have too many. It is nice not to have to load mags at the range, especially when you have newbs with no finger strength with you.

http://theweek.com/articles/611262/why-europe-should-build-hong-kong-syria
Tl;DR- article suggests building a Hong Kong on coast of Middle East run by Euros to give to Arabs so they don't come over there.
So what do kommandos think? Could France and Germany really sustain this project force wise? Could Assad do much about it? Are they Equiped to occupy and fight isis too? Is it reasonable to expect "no military operations" from Neo-Hong Kong? Would Americans back article five of NATO against a pissed Russia even if this was a blatant colonial land grab (how I'm sure it would be seen by some).
>>29215511
What this author doesn't get is that hongkong works because it's populated by chinks, not arabs.
But, about the military part... western military forces could easily expel assad or any other group from a certain piece of land, initially. What they couldn't do is keep the internal peace (see occupation of iraq for reference).
>>29215581
>implying any western force wants to get mucked in with Syria.
Shitlicker.
>>29215581
Well I feel like it would be easier to pacify a city, especially if the immigration system initially lets in more educated people to form a social backbone.
I think the idea is that desert Hong Kong would be occupied by Arabs, but initially ruled by euros with a slow transition as new Arabs are trained in proper administration.
I think it's an interesting solution to a problem. Maybe not the best, but certainly one of the more interesting proposals rather than "kill them" or "let them in and give them free housing, health care, food, etc.".
