What's with the hate against the M14?
Of the cold war battle rifles, it is the one that shows its age the most. Other than that, its okay.
>>29244935
Still would have taken it over a shit early m16
most of it, me included, is just how much they cost for what they are.
Nevermind the historic ones, I'm talking the cheap springfield armory ones that run north of $1200 while the better made ones dance near $2000.
And if you're not looking specifically for a M14 clone for one reason or another, there's plenty of other battle rifle clones on the market for much lower price.
in other words: poorfag whining.
Oh, and it takes some dedication and cash to make it very accurate and the top open action gets a lot of hate.
Is this the new APC for US Army?
>>29244483
>It's a flatter M113
Ok
The APC concept should not even exist
Theres no reason or purpose for it
Back in the day, there was the expectation of tactical nukes going off all over the place, so infantry needed a NBC protected vehicle to ride in
Not to be armored against enemy fire.
>>29244508
Well, General Dynamics made them, so it's poosible that they tried to shove this up the army's throat (with intense lobbying and buy americana spirit)
Anyone else here draw their own targets? Been having fun with it for a little bit.
>>29244196
Seems like a lot of work to put into something you're just gonna shoot up.
>>29244209
It's cheap, and fun if you like to doodle. Plus, you get to pick your own hostage scenarios.
>>29244196
>take paper plate
>scribble a roundish blob in the middle with sharpie
Minute of paper plate is good enough for me.
I really want an m1a/m14, should i get a rockola, fulton armory, or Springfield armory
springfield armory
i have a new one, its good. havent cleaned it in a few thousand rounds. good gun. would trust my life too.
i have standard wood stock one nothing fancy
What was cleaning doctrine during the M14 years in the army like?
Considering that detail strips are bad for the bedding/accuracy did they have less strict cleaning policies then?
>>29244074
>he thinks USGI M14s had bedding
so whats bad about a wasr ak?
>>29243807
Nothing really, early ones had poor QC the new ones are okay QC.
These days they arent coming into the country anymore so prices are going up, youre probably better off about buying something like a DDI for a couple hundred more
Nothing really anymore. When they first came out they had shit QC, now its much better.
Just check for canted sights and other stuff you should check on an AK.

LITERALLY WALKS THE FUCK OUUUUUUUUT
DARPA is having an international competition to see who can make the best improvised weapons.
Seems to be about converting consumer and industrial products into weapons rather than modifying existing weapons.

Cold Steel plastic knives? Police batons? Ect...
Will the Cold Steel plastic knives work as well as a regular blade for slicing/stabbing? I'm thinking of using one as a dive knife because they can't rust.
Any other uses for them? Legit defense? Utility? Bypassing metal detectors?
Pic related.
>>29243157
I bought a Cold Steel plastic dagger when I was like 14, you could stab someone with it but it was pretty terrible in general. Only good for passing through a metal detector. Couldn't cut through a damn thing with it.
Just buy a regular diving knife and take care of it.
Plastic? Seriously? Get a titanium knife for diving and stainless for any thing else.
>>29243157
lmao those are literally the daggers from CSGO
I'm leaving on a 14 day trip out of the country in a few hours and the thought of someone breaking in and stealing my guns is nerve wrackingly stressful for me.
I live in a relatively high humidity place, would storing a plastic hardcase with foam pads in my attic expose them to humidity and rust them? I understand foam retains humidity but I want to make sure if it's fine or not.
Naw you should be good. If you're worried about moisture, just shell out like $50 in silica gel packets and cover the guns with em
>>29242896
I put mine in my trunk and park in my Uncle's garage. Pay someone to drop me off at airport.
It works for me.
>>29243068
I'm reading about how a lot of people tried this and had rust all over their guns. I live in South Florida if that helps.
Milo racks trigger disciprine. Where is your god now?
Who?
Who cares?

He's aiming down range you fucking sperg.
>>29242820
Considering the state of that poor rifle I don't think it matters. Also he's just a faggot that plays a conservative to make a living.
hey guyys 24/f/ca
i was wondering what kind of guns can i get? I've got no priors, never been to jail, got every legal doc i'd need. money isn't an issue anymore.
I recently got my house broken into, I wanna know a little about guns, what guns can I have in my house, can I keep a gun in my car?
Thanks.

haha, i mean Canada. My bad
So, as someone who is 19, can I buy a handgun from a private seller? What about from family? I know I can't from an FFL. I think I can but idk if the transfer would make it impossible because it has to go through an FFL.
Pic related I wanna buy this from my dad.
If your state allows private transfers, yes. No need to go through a FFL.
If your state does not allow private transfers, then no. The FFL will not transfer you a handgun if you are younger than 21.
>>29242171
As of the new law for private transfers, probably not. End of last year we got stuck with a requirement for all sales having to go through an FFL. Including private. Though I know for a fact it's not enforced or checked on everywhere in the state.
>>29242400
Balls. So is there ANY legal way for someone under 21 to own a handgun?
pic might be related

I don't know why this shit exists, but it do.
this might be the wrong thread to ask but, what are some common everyday items that could be carried in a pocket and used as makeshift weapons? I guess that's like the opposite of mall ninja stuff.
say you are traveling to some country that bans fucking everything, what would you carry?
So I went to wally world and I went to buy 9mm... I grabbed 40 SW....
What is a good .40 hand funs. to buy.
>>29241275
>Bought .40 when seeking 9mm
Why exactly?
>>29241275
I don't think illiterate retards should own firearms, OP.

Hey /k/, so I have a legal question regarding concealed carry between states, if any law enforcement officers, preferably from the states involved, or anyone else knowledgeable on the matter can answer.
Okay, so here's my situation, I'm 19 and a Massachusetts resident. I'm about to receive my FID to purchase and own weapons, but can't concealed carry or own a handgun. However, my dad who I live with can as he has his LTC. Now, I live on the border between Mass and New Hampshire, and generally travel to NH pretty frequently. In NH, I can apply for a concealed carry permit at 18 and legally carry there as a nonresident. Would I get in any legal trouble if I were to carry my dad's weapon (with permission from him) concealed in NH as a Mass resident, even if I have a NH concealed carry permit? Assuming for whatever reason a law enforcement officer is aware that I am carrying, which is unlikely in the first place. This is just hypothetical. Also, same question for Maine, as I travel there on occasion as well.
Any help on this would be appreciated. Mass gun laws are shit, but being on the border literally within walking distance, I'd like to at least be able to carry when I'm out of state since I'm in NH fairly often.

Bump.
Bump for interest.

Hello /k/. I need your help... I'm about to make a large purchase on Palmetto State Armory (around 360 bucks, with an added 25 bucks for shipping) and I was wondering if any of you had any coupon codes for their website? I need to shave off a few dollars but I can't afford to wait, everything I want is on a huge sale right now. Thanks for your help and please be gentle
>>29240966
M8 if you need a coupon for a few hundred dollars you should not be spending money on shit you don't need right now. I'm not being rude just honest.
>>29241001
Thanks but I'm 18 years old and I still live with my parents. I have a weekend job and I'm working just to pay for this.
