What's your opinion on the sig 2022?
I want one and if it really, costs under 400 why aren't they selling like hot cakes
>>29273503
I would guess its the same reason the fns series hasn't become popular. People dont simply know much about them or heard anything aboot them like they do a Glock or M&P l.
because DA/SA has largely become replaced by strikers.
but the 2022 is an AMAZING pistol. a bit expensive, magazine-wise, but a trigger 80% as good as a 226 while being polymer framed, light, and dirt cheap. They are the only polymer sig you should really consider getting.
If you're into DA/SA, or just want a good solid fun range pistol, I'd get it in a heartbeat.
>>29273770
Are you saying the gun or the mags are expensive
Why don't armies issue very small pistols as secondary weapons? Isn't the whole idea behind them to "fight your way to a rifle"?
If they serve as a tool to only be used in the most dire of consequences and only at very close ranges, why would the marginal difference in ballistics and accuracy matter?
Before you say it, yes I know most soldiers don't carry sidearms.
"yes I know most soldiers don't carry sidearms."
In what country ? Every Belgian soldier gets issued the FN 5-7.
>>29273318
The US, UK, Germany, Canada, and others I've personally seen in the middle east.
>>29273318
Here in the US only a few MOS get issued pistols, and officers do. Oh, and SOF obviously get sidearms.
With our budget you'd think we'd get sidearns, but we don't :/
What's the point in holding the magazine frame like this? Isn't it counter-productive to hold so far up like that, instead of holding the barrel?
I've seen some tacticool fags at the range toting that this is the best for SBR's, but how useful is it?
>>29273195
more examples
>>29273195
Its easier to animate the player model holding all rifles/subguns/etc. by the magwell instead of the handguard.
>>29273195
Magwell grip is for lazy people who dont like holding rifles.
Holding the support arm out is better in every respect except comfort. This is why you start seeing people's weapons handling and manipulation go to shit after a while.
am i autistic for carrying 94 rounds of 9mm?
15 fmj, 33 147 grain winchester HP, 46 127gr +p+
>>29273008
no, but you're cruisin for a busted glock with all that +P+
>>29273038
It's not like he makes a regular habit of shooting his carry ammo.
...
Is it OP?
>>29273038
Not OP, really doubt glock will explode with less than 50 +p+ rounds.
Hey /k/, I want to get a bolt action gun but Im not sure what my options are. Are mosins still around $150? What else is there in that price range?
It's really a crap shoot right now. In my town Mosins go for on average $250 and while that's not too bad people will tell you to save $50 more and spend $300 on a K31 but I've never seen one of those go for less than $500. You can also find K98s in that $250-$300 price range but I've never seen one in person.
>>29272842
No and nothing else is reliably in that price range.
If you up it to $250 you can find all sorts of used modern bolt guns that will shoot better than a Mosin.
>>29272842
Mosin prices online are just barely under $200. You might get lucky in a local deal to still net one for <$150, but it will require patience. Only other thing you can find online for <$200 will be .22s.
Turk Mausers go pretty cheap, though surplus 8x57mm isn't as easy to find as 7.62x54mmR.
Why are Pocket Knives colored like this nowadays?
>>29272408
They attract neck beards and rednecks
It looks cool so people buy the knife because it looks cool, rather than because they need a knife.
>>29272408
i've never seen a knife colored like this in real life
Listening to the radio today and for some reason the Russian invasion of Afghanistan came up. One caller claimed that spetznaz would carry bastard files in their boots for interrogation. If the locals wouldn't give up info, they would supposedly pull these out and start filing teeth. It was supposedly highly effective. Has anyone else heard this? And I guess unorthadox torture weapon thread
>>29271804
Seems farfetched.
I remember seeing a Chechnya video where seemingly for shits and giggles some Chechens shot off a guy's fingers one at a time.
>>29271804
carrying a file, in your boots.
lets think this one through. not saying they didn't carry files but fuck carrying it in your boots.
>>29271804
Generally that kind of stuff wasn't carried by field interrogations, Spetsnaz would generally do that back at their base where they've got a mix of blowtorches, drills, saws and other devices to make someone talk. Field interrogations usually done with the shovel, lopping off bits, beatings and bending limbs into a pretzel- basically lay someone face down on the ground and bend their feet towards the back of their head.
They'll do it in groups too.
So if you've got 2-6 captives, one of them might be useless, they'll use him/her as an example to the others and take him to bits with a saw.
Essentially, telling them what they want gets you a quicker death, because they will kill you. You will not survive Spetsnaz (or GRU) interrogations in Afghanistan. They used to run some pretty industrial scale torture facilities there, especially down towards the south of the country where the locals where rounded up and a lot of mass graves can still be found, as well as the actual facilities they used.
So what's the USNs plan if a rogue Astute sub gets into one of their carrier strike groups? Just wait for it to run out of ammo?
>>29271704
nuclear depth charges
no seriously, they just need to drop a sonar buoy into the water since nuclear powered submarines are so fucking loud
>>29271704
Just treat it like any other sub.
Though I find it highly unlikely that the whole crew would go rogue, given they'd understand what this means for their familes at home.
>>29271752
>Though I find it highly unlikely that the whole crew would go rogue, given they'd understand what this means for their familes at home.
You think Britain would publicly torture and execute family members of their sub crews?
"The Fighter Mafia was a controversial group of U.S. Air Force officers and civilian defense analysts who, in the 1970s, advocated the use of John Boyd and Thomas P. Christie's Energy-Maneuverability (E-M) theory as the sole driver in designing fighter aircraft.
The mathematical model they developed enabled quantitative (number-driven) one-to-one comparison of the performance of various aircraft in terms of air combat maneuvering, independent of real world flight testing. The model was used to identify deficiencies in service and proposed designs of the time."
>>29271647
It's fine, but Sprey was never actually part of it.
>>29271647
A bunch of old men who had zero air combat or engineering experience who believed they knew best.
>>29271667
It is true they had no combat experience. They remind me a bit of the "Moneyball" guys.
Ok so I'm currently deployed to Africa and a buddy of mine in our Recon Platoon has a friend stateside who is a Leupold dealer, and he is able to get everyone in the company any Leupold product they want at 50% off. So I started looking at their products because HELL YEAH!! And the only thing I've seen that I like is the D-Evo. But I have no experience with it and don't know anyone who owns one or has even used one. It's Leupold so I'm fairly confident in it's durability, but I'm just curious if anyone on /k/ has any firsthand experience with it and/or Leupold's LCO which I can get paired with it. I currently have an ACOG with an offset Aimpoint T-1 on my personally owned AR but am very curious is the D-Evo/LCO combination would be worth the expense (probably around 1,300-1,400 with tax. Thanks in advance.
>>29271595
depends what you're actually doing. There's not much superior of an optic for an AR than just an acog on a ar platform.
>>29271642
>what is precision shooting
>>29271669
>durr I am dumb and didn't even read OP
I am sure he is making 1 hit headshot kills with his ACOG and Aimpoint T1 at 8000 yards you stupid faggot

We need to organize a /k/ommando demo team so we can destroy it while it sits in the dry dock. We're going to need a lot of tannerite.
If someone can join the military due to past mental illness such as ocd or anxiety, what are some other ways to get adventure? What are some non military /k/ related jobs?
