What did /k/ do this week? I took 2 of my nogunz friends shooting out at my place. One of them shot my Ruger MK3 and now wants one. The other enjoyed shooting my Yugo AK, but probably won't buy one anytime soon. We didn't shoot as much as I hoped to but it was fun nonetheless.

What gun/weapon do you grab? Do you place your family in one room? Do you give them weapons?

So gun laws in England are pretty much the toughest anywhere (20 years or more) what would you recommend for a Brit who wants to own a firearm?

After a decade of being a gun nut and not knowing what I wanted to do in life I have recently been looking into becoming a gunsmith.

I am a mechanically minded person, and have never had trouble taking guns apart and putting them back together. I also have done some noob tier gunsmithing on a couple of guns (I smoothed out the trigger pull on a reproduction Remington 1858 and a tokarev pistol) and have replaced many pairs of springs in multiple guns.

To make it short, I love working with guns, and I think I would love being a gunsmith.

My problem is, Real gunsmithing schools are few and far between with the nearest ones I know of being in North Carolina with Montgomery Community college, and Trinidad state in Colorado.

On top of that, I am Broke, and unemployed.

I saw that the Sonoran Desert Institute is now accepting FASFA, but I read that their degrees were basically a joke and didnt teach you a lot of stuff you needed to know.

Being poor and In Indiana, SDI seemed like a good idea, but im not sure after reading what people were saying about the degree.

>Is SDI any good? even if just as a starting point? my FASFA should cover all of it and I can do it from home.
>Would I be much better off going to Montgomery or Trinidad and taking god only knows how much in student loans to pay off whatever FASFA didn't?
>how Do I apply for Scholarships from the NRA and Brownells (being the two big names I saw offering scholarships)
>how long do you have to live in a state, or what do you have to do to be considered "in state" for tuition? Just looking at Montgomery the price is more than doubled for out of state students.

and lastly, are there any other Gunsmiths by trade on here? how do you like it? do you regret the decision? How is the pay, and how hard is it to find a place to work?

What this is: is a 3 day outdoor gathering. Attendees will enjoy 3 days of target shooting, camping out, cooking around the camp fire and meeting new friends. It's a great way to relieve day-to-day stress such as work and college.

What this is NOT: Any form of militia, anti-government association, politically, racially, or religiously affiliated with anyone, practicing/promoting/encouraging/engaging in any illegal or immoral activity of any kind.

very. has a pistol range and a 25-175yrd range firing line is covered with a building and has tables and gun racks.

sure just bring some ammo and/or money to use other peoples guns and not be a felon.

Now heres the only thing you will most likely need the range has asked that those coming get a year member ship its only $10 for the whole year.

the range is a CMP affiliate so if you want to get a M1 garand they can give you a copy of the range certificate along with a membership card.

Ever since the MBT came about, the old classifications of 'light, medium' and heavy' became no longer needed because the MBT filled all those rolls.

But now, maybe tankettes like the germans have are maybe breaking the monopoly that the MBT has had if other contries adopt this type of light armor.
