Not BLOW IHS LAYG AWF?
Are snipers useless in the modern army?
>>29407938
No.
Next question.
>>29407938
Its a good position to funnel women to, they are better snipers than men anyway and it would keep them out of combat arms
>>29407990
Gr8 b8 m8
>limited ammo capacity
>need two hands to operate
>less controllable than a small caliber rifle
>big and unwieldy
Can someone tell me why a pump action shotgun would make a better home defense weapon than a pistol caliber carbine in ANY scenario?
inb4 pellet spread makes it impossible to miss
>>29407387
>45acp vs 12 gauge slugs
So are you retarded or just stupid?
Also, inb4
>pistol calibers don't have the stopping power I need
>>29407423
Retarded. Glad you pointed it out, thanks.
Tell me stories about idiots mishandling explosives
>>29407241
My buddy had to go clean up a mess one time.
Two soldiers were training on how to use a LAW with a live tube. Why they weren't using a spent tube, I'll never know.
Well one thing lead to another and the LAW gets fired. Goes through and impales one soldier at point blank range and then into a concrete wall. It was inside and within safe-arm distance, so it just burst apart rather than exploding.
>>29407301
What happened to impaled dude
>>29407241
I almost convinced a couple of grunts to eat some blasting caps. And another one to almost eat C4.
Had I not stopped all of them they would have died.
Why are remote machine guns not more common?
They seem pretty god tier in terms of protecting the operator and are apparently extremely durable.
Why don't we see them everywhere? Like road checkpoints, cruise ships and often targeted buildings like embassies.
>inb4 cost
By deploying one in you can replace a guard in full gear. Hell, an intern sipping coffee could man the controls from the depths of the building if need be.
>>29406494
My best guess would be because they're stationary. A fixed turret can't maneuver around blind spots, pursue, retreat, etc. so it isn't really fair to say that they can replace humans.
>>29406494
Because "he dint do nuffin" needs someone to blame. One guard is easier to blame than arguing over manufacturer flaw vs operator error.
Worst Korea has automated sentry guns in the DMZ. Currently they require human operator input to shoot. Though they could be set to full autonomous.
I think a lighter version of CROWS with a semi auto .50bmg rifle could replace trained snipers for a lot of missions. A fire team carries and places the gun. One guy operates the gun through a remote control system with a screen. While the rest of the team pulls security.
Joined my local fire department and I need some crazy stories before I go off to the county academy in a few weeks.
Also, FF/EMT general.

Firefighting is operator as fuck.
My dad's been a firefighter for more than 20 years. He's a driver/engineer on an engine these days. He doesn't really get a lot of crazy stories now that he doesn't ride the medic, but he once shredded a pair of bunker pants and boots with a lawnmower when he was new.
Here are two of his old helmets. The "E-201" patch is removable, and I have it on one of my bags now.
> /k/ - weapons
> let's talk about firefighters
What?

Hi /k/
How many of you carry to church.
There's been a problem caused partially by it at mine.
What do you think of it?
Don't need to.
God will protect me.
>>29405755
I don't go to church.
>>29405755
Could you explain the problems?
I'll start
>>29405492
They aren't shit.
Just heavy and single stack full size.
>>29405507
Everytime I asked questions people always shited in them.
Official drink of /k/?
>But why on earth would you ever NEED an assault weapon? Don't you know it has 30 baby-killing bullet cartridge clips? You don't need that to hunt!
How do you respond, /k/?
Give then both red cards so Soccer Mom FC would be down to 9 players.
>>29405362
"Fair enough, but I am protected under the law in my decision to purchase them, so I will continue to do so for no discernible reason, other than because I enjoy it."
If you don't have an assault weapon I'll rape you.
Why would anybody choose to serve on a submarine?
It's bad enough being on the surface and your vessel getting hit why the fuck would you want to experience that 1000ft below the waves?
It's the only part of the navy where a gay sailor can reliably find a husband.
>>29405415
100 men go down, 50 couples come up
>>29405287
There are some good sides to a submariner
> submarines don't roll, so you don't get seasick like a surface ship.
> You get more time on-shot compared with the surface fleet. The navy knows how much being on a sub sucks so they give you more shore time.
> Good creature comforts. Not a lot of space, but the space is as comfortable as they can make it.
> You get paid more. Compensation for the suck.
>>29405415
ahahahahaha
I've noticed recently there's quite a lot of misinformation, old wives tales, and just false things floating around on /k/ about what people think it is that law enforcement does, how we train, how much we shoot, etc.
So since tonight is my night off I've got spare time and will answer any reasonable questions you guys may have about the job.
Note: Reasonable questions is exactly just that. Bait trying to start an argument will be ignored.
Pic not related, only LE picture I have on my computer though.

second for where is my pal RCMP
Let's hear some opinions, should I get a norinco sig copy for a first handgun, or should I spend the 300 pecos more and get a cz-75 that I'm a big fan of.
What's the point of carrying a snubnose when the Glock 29 has everything you need?
>10mm better than .357
>10-15rds better than 5-6rds
>same reliability with faster and easier reload
>dat 10mm tho
Not to mention you can upgrade
>barrel size/length
>recoil compensator
>rechamber to different caliber if wanted
>add light/laser/bipod/foregriplol/etc
at will whenever
It's a very powerful gun. I you can carry it regularly and handle it as well as smaller calibers you will have a bit of an advantage.
