Got any good milsurp stores around you OP? There are a lot of offerings you are looking for with actual military irons in 308. Otherwise old Remington 700s can come with iorns and CZ makes new rifles with mannlichner stocks and iorns but they are $$$.

They're fun cheap beaters and throwers. The Estwing is a better inexpensive tacticool hawk and the Cold Steels are better inexpensive traditional innawoods hawks.

Sup /b/? Anyone here ever work for a Private Military company like blackwater/ academi? Or know much about the topic?
How much are these guys getting paid these days? Any info would help because there really isn't a lot of first hand information out there.
I'm 20yo in ROTC at my school, pretty set on 18a but I'd be more comfortable going that route if I knew being a PMC was a realistic option once I'm out.

Unless you go SOF or have specific skills (they like experienced medics), you have no chance. For more info, google names of PMCs and check their sites. They usually have the criteria listed.
To be fair if you're still in school (assuming you don't mean college) at 20, you have no chance anyway so don't bother.

Let's say someone joins the Army on a three year contract in an infantry role. They spend their three years training and go on a tour of duty somewhere and get some experience.
What are their job prospects after that? Will a PMC hire you? Can you join something like the French foreign legion? Do something in Africa? Or are you pretty much forced to do a law enforcement type job?

Well I've read conflicting opinions that you need to have got into something like CSOR/JTF-2 in Canada or SEALs/Rangers in the U.S. if you want to get hired for PMC work.
I'm asking because I was offered a job recently for the Canadian Forces but not as Infantry. I got offered IntOps and I know after 5 years I can get some interesting jobs with intelligence agencies worldwide, however...I love the idea of really operating.
10 days to accept/decline the offer so I'm trying to weigh my options and ask as many opinions as possible. I'd appreciate if you advise me.
