So, the store I work at got robbed.
I wasn't there, but a lot of my co-workers were.
I was already thinking of getting a gun just for funz but this sort of drove home to me that where I live isn't as safe and small-town as it used to be. Just another reason to grab one I guess.
I've always kind of liked revolvers. Any recommendations for ones to be looking at for a starter wheelgun?
I'm not really looking to break the bank, just looking for a fun thing that might also be worth having around 'in case'.

BREAKING: A recent systematic review study has showed that there has been no impact on firearm homicide rates from John Howard's firearms laws. None.

The article by Samara McPhedran at Griffith University reads:
"No study found statistical evidence of any significant impact of
the legislative changes on firearm homicide rates.
"...irrespective of the differences between papers in methodology, time periods examined, and level of geographical disaggregation, none found evidence for a statistically significant impact of Australia's 1996 legislative changes on firearm homicide rates.
"...if legislative reform is limited in its ability to reduce firearm homicide rates, then what interventions are most likely to be successful?...
"Indeed, there appear to have been few strategies implemented in Australia, other than legislation, which are specifically aimed at curbing firearm violence.
"...when the current evidence base is considered in a systematic fashion, there may be a notable discrepancy between empirical findings about the efficacy of Australian firearm legislation in regard to reducing firearm homicide, compared with what has been proposed within popular discourse about the impacts of those laws."

So I recently obtained a Walther p38 Luger from my Grandfather, no he didn't get it in ww2, he traded a tractor for it, but it is in very nice shape with the holster and even the bullets still in the mag. I was wondering what it might be worth, and if there's any way I could trace it back to a specific soldier, or unit. (I don't intend on selling it.) Also should I get it cleaned so I can fire it, or just put it on a shelf? (it hasn't been fired in over 40 years) AlsoAlso I can't get a picture of it atm, but it is a walther p38, with the numbers not the walther logo. Thanks in advance

Filthy disgusting nogun here and I have a question I suppose you folks would be most qualified to answer.
What is the realistic application of a machine pistol? I find machine pistols neat but I rarely ever see them used by someone who isn't using two of them while diving through the air (which I imagine is not the proper way to use one).
They seem like they'd be inefficient at almost any job I can think of them performing, with assault rifles, sub machine guns, and even non-machine pistols seeming to be much more effective or efficient.

So i have a mosin Nagant 91/30, and the finish was just shit, and I stripped it and cleaned it, and degreased it and a million other things until the wood is actually new and nice again, nothing caustic, no bleach, but now that ive gotten this far, I cant decide on a finish. Even right now, I could shellac over it and make it look factory new, (Professional woodworker here btw) And itd look amazing, but the wood is so nice im inclined to just leave it clean and new, or my buddy thinks torching the woodgrain for a zebra effect would look amazing, and Im just a fucker and cant decide.
Before/after, current pics to come.
what should I do /k/? any other cool options?
I dont give a flying fuck if you hate mosins or if you think im a retard for fucking with a 'historical rifle' or some other shit, really just looking for options for a nice finish.

Hey guys, so I picked up this shotgun recently
Got a good deal on it
I plan on cutting the barrel down to 18.5" because of the mild buldge at the end of the left barrel
The other issue is: the left firing pin does not protrude, it appears to have snapped off
Now I know they can be replaced but I am not 100% sure where to find a replacement
Any ideas? (more pics incoming)
