Okay so believe it or not I am designing characters for a game.
The game takes place in 2020 in a global collapse scenario, one of the factions emergent after the collapse are the American Patriotic Front and are a group of disenfranchised militia and former military.
For the "grunts" we will have a sort of standard uniform. Maybe real tree or woodland BDU. Many will also wear jeans and plain shirts. It will be based off the civilian turned guerilla fighters you see in the IRA and in the Middle east.
I was thinking about what chest rig and equipment they would use and was thinking a basic vietnam era load carrier and a Mini 14. Some would carry shotguns and revolvers or 1911's.
Seems like something stereotypical that Id imagine american guerillas would be using.
What would this faction be using? It has to be clearly identifiable as a seperate faction of american guerillas and not government forces or foreign mercenaries.
Any assistance friends?
>1911s
Sure.
>Mini-14s
Why not ARs? They're underneath every rock in the US.
Another thing would be lots of bolt action rifles in wood furniture and shotguns, which you did mention. Even if someone doesn't have an AR, if they live in an even somewhat rural area, chances are they or their neighbor has a fudd gun for durr hunting.

>Okay so believe it or not I am designing characters for a game.
ive been doing that shit for ages now, nobody's impressed.
Are these worth a shit as a poorfag CCW? LGS/gunsmith (who won't stock things if he thinks they're trash generally because he doesn't like doing warranty work) had one for $295 and it SEEMS like what I'm looking for in a CCW. I have several full-size handguns but nothing suitable for carrying concealed.
>my hands are hueg and it fills my grip better than most small guns
>good pricepoint for poorfag
>trigger felt pretty smooth dry-firing, DAO though so seems like that might make it hard to hit things
>didn't feel cheap at all
>10+1 capacity
Most other guns I've looked at in that size category/price range either feel like cheap shit or are solid but unpleasant to shoot because of big hands (Makarovs, for instance).
Any experience with these, /k/? Talk me out of or into buying this.
>>29501526
I like them and I like all the pretty colors they come in
>8/10 from me
>>29501526
If you intend to buy it and never shoot it, then it may be fine. If you intend to shoot it at all, which you should be doing to become proficient with it, then it is likely to give you problems. Do a bit of homework yourself, but I have read many reports of constant jamming, frames cracking, guiderods breaking, and all other manner of other problems that are characteristic of cheap guns.
For the $200 that they go for online, the SCCY may seem like a good deal, but if you're purely interested in a CCW, you can get a few actually good guns for that price or just a little more; for example, the Ruger LCP sells online for around $200 these days. For almost $300 + tax, I wouldn't touch a SCCY with a ten foot pole. Ruger LC9s Pros sell for only $30 more than that, and Kahr C-series can be found in the exact same price range, sometimes even sub-$300. Both are ten times the gun that the SCCY is, in terms of reliability, durability, and general design. If you want something full size, you can get guns like a Ruger 9E, Canik TP9SF, or Walther PPX for right around the $300 mark, and all three would be good, reliable options for home defense.
The SCCY gets a lot of love among poorfags, but when you actually look at youtube videos of owners shooting their guns, the things are constantly jamming. The only people who truly love them are the ones who never shoot them. Once you shoot them for any amount of time, the love will evaporate and you'll realize that you wasted a lot of money on a piece of junk.

This is what I was looking for. Thanks, anon.
What can you tell me about the future of non-lethal weapons ?

They'll be pretty non-lethal

I'm failing badly in my PhD studies and I'm thinking of enlisting in the military instead. Two years in, not one paper related to my thesis, I don't even find the topic interesting anymore and my advisors don't cared either if they ever did, not more than just for padding their resumes with more papers. Thinking of enlisting in either the US Army or US Marines. Although I have a college degree I can't go in as an officer since I'm not a US citizen, but with permanent residency I can at least enlist. I've been preparing myself physically for the rigors of boot camp and military life, running 3 miles every other day, lifting, hiking ~20 miles, kickboxing and getting up early at 6 (I realize that in the military you have to get up even earlier for 0500 formation). The reason for my selection of branches is that I don't want to have anything to do with developing technology for a while, I just want to be in the dirt, blowing shit up and shooting at people. What do you say?

You're a moron who romanticizes military duty
>>29501303
All you really need to do to get through basic/boot is just be fit enough to get above just passing, since they won't count all your reps for push ups/pull ups etc. And be able to just roll with the bs you will have to put up with.
Has anybody got links to genuinely bad gun channels on youtube? I'm looking for some cheap laughs. (inb4 nutnfancy, etc.)
People doing things like:
-taking themselves seriously when they shouldn't
-being childish or unsafe
-tactics that most professionals would consider blatantly wrong/unjustifiable
I'm trying to avoid parody and comedy, and steer towards groups like V.I.P.E.R.S. Academy and the early days of VSO Gun-channel. Dudes who don't have a clue what they're doing but think they do. Here are some little gems, in case you haven't seen them yet.

Hey /k/,
Can a non US citizen ever hope to become an aviation officer (helicopter) in the US Army? You need a bachelor's degree to even be considered for officer, I will probably get mine in about 2.5 years (EU here). Can I apply for a green card, become a citizen, then proceed to become an aviation officer? I'll be 22 by the time I get my bachelor's degree. Is there any hope that I get to be an aviation officer in the US army or should I just kill myself?
>>29501079
bump, someone help this poor guy out
You need to be a citizen. You don't need a degree to be a warrant officer

OP here, so should I just focus on getting citizenship and then join the 'High school to flight school' program?
Why don't Special Forces exclusively use battle rifles instead of assault rifles?
>Assault rifles have lighter ammo
Special Forces are stronger than normal soldiers
>Assault rifles are easier to spray & pray with
Special Forces can aim better, so use less ammo.
>>29501065
are you fucking serious?
is this bait
>>29501065
The assault rifle concept is superior to the battle rifle concept. The increase in rounds carried by assault rifle users is only enhanced by the better training of SF forces. Just face it dude, your battle rifles are obsolete.

How much of a role would the US Highways play in an invasion?
>>29500952
Considering they were designed with an invasion or hostile takeover specifically in mind....
In the unlikely case of such a scenario, Highways would turn into converted airstrips and be used exclusively by military forces to transport supplies and logistics. Civilians would have to GTFO.
>>29500952
This, if you guys specifically mean the freeway system, not all US highways in general.
It would not be used by the US forces, they know better than to get on 95 after 4. The interstate is actually a trap for the enemies. The longer they stay on the interstate the longer they stay in traffic and endless construction zones. Ladies and gents, THIS is the reason why traffic will never be fixed around DC. Also, the US forces will have EZ passes to troll Russian faggots stuck in bumper to bumper traffic as Abram tanks and Stryker cruise by them at a smooth 55 to 65 mph.
How would the US/NATO react if ISIS used chemical weapons in a western city, killing thousands?

Theoretically, how many mosins fired at the same time would significantly change earth's orbit? I'm talking about like an ice age difference here.
Your post is bad and you should feel bad.
If all of them were fired at the same time everyone's ears would be destroyed
>>29500873
It would take approx 1.4 X 10^33 joules to move the Earth's orbit into one similar to that of Mars (source: https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/what-would-it-take-to-move-earth.63459/)
Mosins fire 7.62x54mmR which has a kinetic energy of approx 3614 joules.
So, (1.4 X 10^33) / 3614 = 387382401770890979524073049252.91
That's a lot of mosins.
What makes an AK better than an AR chambered in 7.62x39?
>>29500826
The shitty magazines for the AR in 7.62x39
And also the gun is designed around certain parameters, AK being 7.62 and AR being 5.56
x39 ARs don't feed reliably and look silly.

Typhoon and Rafale will grow larger.
Kuwait orders 28 Typhoons. I guess there goes the Super Hornets Boeing was looking to sell. This being on the heels of Qatar ordering 24 Rafales, and it's unlikely the State Department will sell them Strike Eagles too that LM wanted.
I wonder if Saudi Arabia will order another batch of Typhoons.
