A local store here is selling a set of Japanese Samurai armor for $900. What do you think /k/, is this a good deal? How accurate is it?
This is completely autistic
>>35147350
What? I think it kinda looks cool, would be neat to display in the living room. But it is kinda expensive and the replicas I see online are about the same price.
Hey /k/ nofuns poorfag here,
I recently inherited an antique revolver (pic related) but I'm not sure how to properly store it. I have no real intention of firing it (though I did check to make sure the action works and the chamber moves properly) but I'd like to keep it in the condition it's in. It's one of the few things that my grandfather specifically wanted me to have and I feel its my duty to properly care for it and pass it on when the time is right.
Any suggestions on how to properly keep it so it doesn't deteriorate? I don't intend on handling it much aside from pulling it out once in a blue moon to gawk at it and remember my grandfather if that helps at all.

>Any suggestions on how to properly keep it so it doesn't deteriorate?
Stable, low humidity. Stable being more important than low, just make sure there are no dramatic swings.
Wear gloves when handling it.
Keep it dust free.
It would be best to simply buy a case and leave it there, something like pic related.

>Stable, low humidity. Stable being more important than low, just make sure there are no dramatic swings.
I was thinking of getting a simple humidor for it, obviously not filling the humidifier or even using it
>>35147589
>humidor
Don't really know much about those, but aren't they supposed to keep the air pretty moist? 40%-50% humidity would be best.
Hey /k/, i'm new to this board but I have been interested in guns for a long time. Soon I want to save up for a long rifle that is C&R eligible. Is the SKS a good starting rifle? Also is a $400-500 a good price? Any help is appreciated
>>35146963
Also the rifle in the image is $430
>>35146963
Yes they are pretty nice. Easy to shoot and maintain. Ammo isn't too expensive or ass-kicking in the recoil department.
They used to be much cheaper but $400 is as well as you can do nowadays. Try checking local shops for used Chinese or Sino-Soviet examples. You can sometimes find one for $300 or even $200 if you're lucky.
>>35146963
SKS rifles are pretty damn good and currently the cheapest semi auto 7.62x39 you can get. If you want one I'd recommend getting it, be sure to check all your LGS though as they may end up having a better deal.
The State Department approved a possible FMS of 18 Super Hornets (10 Es and 8 Fs) yesterday. The deal also includes missiles, ale-50 decoys, training costs, software support, and parts warranty. Total cost of the deal is valued at $5.23 Billion.
Note this doesn't mean the sale is happening, just that it's taken definite shape.

They aren't really good unless you're operating CATOBAR carriers.
Im about to buy an MPX 8''.
Tell me why I shouldn't/ what else I could buy.
Will cost me around 2500$ (switzerland), its the sbr version.
Because you can buy 2 cheap af prebuilt/ OEM AR-9s and install a DFA Modified cycle system, gas piston system, and any length of 9mm barrel for the price of one of these overpriced HK knockoffs.
>>35146937
Can you get a pistol brace version or is that still considered SBR?
>>35147099
I live in switzerland, its hard to get an ar-9, let alone special parts for it.
Hello fellow /k/ommandos, the father in law did some cleaning while looking for his diploma and came across the Walther model 8. Can anyone tell me a little bit more about them? Haven't learned much more from Google than it's .25 ACP and manufactured between 1920-1940s. Pretty cool little firearm. Also general Walther thread
>>35146918
That's pretty neat. What's with the number on the grip? Was it brought back by a GI?
They weren't standard issue by any means but plenty of German soldiers, officers and civilians had them during the war.
>>35146954
The grip number is the caliber. .25 ACP = 6.35mm Auto in Yuroland.
>>35146954
I'm not even sure where it came from, I'm going to have to ask for the backstory when he gets home.
And that's pretty fucking awesome
I have a deer problem /k/. The fuckers have been rummaging around in the woods around my house in too large a number and for too long. What gun would be best to shoot the fuckers from a bit aways in an old treehouse.
>>35146499
Something close at hand that shoots hot loads.
>>35146499
Anything semi auto 308.

Today i saw a HK USP .45 running $550,i really want to save up and buy it as my first semi auto handgun. Any advice, tips, suggestions, warnings?
>i really want to save up and buy it
A $550 USP is gonna move fast.
>>35145738
I mean likely buy it next paycheckor two, since its a sleepy area around here.
>>35145784
its going to get picked up if you don't act fast.
Top attachments, sights and/or things to know?
Buy extra mags and ammo. Watch how you grip it because you may inadvertently release the slide causing it not to lock back after the final round
>>35145717
umbrella so rain drops dont brick your gun
>>35145717
Those are usually things you research before buying a gun you fucking dumbass.
I'm posting this here because I hate all the "so, /k/ what do you think about x faggot popular youtuber?"

I want to know is the ruger 1911 model better than the rest of the other 1911 models and is the ruger one dropsafe?
>when there's trash in the middle of the road
>but you keep telling yourself you're not over there anymore
>>35145595
Fpbp
>>35145580
It's roughly mid tier and as far as I know it is reasonably drop safe. I wouldn't go throwing it loaded against concrete.
California requires drop testing of handguns for sale, so anything on roster would have passed. This includes Kimber, Colt, Springfield, Les Baer and even el-cheapo RIA 1911s. Ruger never submitted for statutory reasons (when it came out submitting new handguns became completely impossible) but I'm sure it would pass as well. Heck even the Hi-Point C9 is on roster.
why does /k/ know so much more about guns than any other gun forum
>>35145535
>The weapons board knows most about weapons
I shit post sometimes, but come on. Delete this thread.
>>35145535
The autists come here and the fudds stay away
Guys I am looking for specs and parts to make this work for again. Its a ppsh 41 see picture.
Have to find a barrel and intact upper reciever and i probably need to modify bolt to fire with striker or hammer instead of the slam fire open bolt method it was designed for.
Anyone have experience with this?
how hard is it to search for the gunsmith general
>>35145554
Not sure a gun Smith is needed here.
>>35145554
