Title says it all. I'm not talking about your typical "ISIS fighter gets dome shot off" video or gif, I'm talking about the shit you have to DIG to find. Whether it's a story your grandpa/friend/relative told you about hand to hand combat in a war, or rarely seen up close AND CLEAR helmet cam footage of combat and people getting dropped. The vid I'll post I'm sure may of you have seen but if you to 2:24 you clearly see the British soldier call out the Taliban, call him a fucker, and run up to him and shoot him.

My uncle (a combat engineer in 'Nam) once told me how he shot a gook in the head from about 15 feet away with a 40mm shell and it failed to detonate. Ripped the guys scalp back
AK guy here. I have an M&P15 sport, and I like it. I shoot it pretty much as is with the A2 front sight and magpul flip up rear sight. No tacticool shit, no add ons, just simple. And I enjoy shooting it that way.
I have begun to really like and appreciate the simplicity of the A1 style rifle with fixed carrying handle upper receiver, triangle handguard and fixed stock.
How do I go about building putting together a modern AR (I was thinking about a nickel boron BCG, nice trigger, etc) but keep the A1 appearance and not break the bank?

I live in Wisconsin.
When I was a minor, I was in the special ed system(I wasn't sick or retarded, I just didn't listen.) They used restraint as punishment, one day I hit back and ended up in court; I was tossed in the delinquent wing of a mental institution for six months.
I'm now approaching 30. I haven't had mental health issues or run-ins with the law as an adult. Do the things that happened when I was a minor disqualify me from owning a firearm, or is it sealed? Google hasn't been helpful, and I figure someone here probably knows the law off the top of their head.
Is there someplace online I can run a NICS on myself? Or is the only option having a gun store do it?

I don't think this is true, actually. Wisconsin doesn't have an FOID system, OP is just interested in the 4473.
Anyway, AFAIK there is no way to run a NICS on yourself, so you'd need to get a gun store to do it. Or maybe talk to a lawyer, dunno.

If you try to look unassuming, then I think your defence is a dice toss. Just pure chance among the general public.
