So, were all USA WWII small arms total shit?

>Thompson is 10 lbs and like 10 times more costly than any other smg
>BAR was like 20 lbs, had really shitty mags, and weren't belt fed
>M1 carbine used an anemic round
(actually these were pretty decent for what they were and light, but they are still a pistol caliber carbine (.30 carbine has the power of a hot .357)
>Garands were inaccurate and easy to malfunction due to the action
(still better than the bolt actions anyone else was using and could still be used manually, just the action is shit by today's standards).
>1911 only held 7 rounds and the high power is a much better gun
>.45 acp revolvers suck because clips
>1903A3 I guess is fine what what it is, IE a mouser, but the 1917 is a better rifle.
>grease gun is just a piece of shit in general

Not sure how either of the Browning belt fed .30 cals stacked up vs the other belt feds at the time. People usually say he MG34 and MG42 are great but both ate a ton of ammo and the tripod heavy as fuck. I would assume all the water cooled MGs are all great (1917 browning, vickers, ect.) but heavy so it would really be how the 1919 compares to the German, Russian, and Japanese MGs.

Also I was looking at this
>http://www.101airborneww2.com/equipment.html

It says that paratroopers carried a mix of ball, ap, and tracers. How would they be like dutch loaded or would the soldiers have to keep track of clips or what?

I don't understand why anyone used the BAR, or why it was so popular with gangsters.

Alright guys, Defensive handgun sights, FO? Tritium? 3 dot? undotted rear? I have been looking a lot and the ones I am leaning towards are the XS sights.

I have XS sighs on my EDC Glock 26 and I fucking love them. I am also a fan of various 2-dot setups, as well as Trijicon HD's and 10-8 rears with a nice bright front.

What does /k/ of the AR-7?
It's a smart concept, a 35 inch survival rifle that collapses to half that. It's surprisingly accurate for peep sights and its able to hold 16 rounds of .22 LR (in 2 mags) It's use in the military has partially diminished but as a last resort squirrel sniper, it's not a bad concept.

It's alright, does what it's supposed to.

Ruger takedown is way better.
>>
It feels cheap to me. The stock is unwieldy account of the fact that it has to be large to accommodate the parts. It's good at what it does, but I'd rather go with a Chiappa Little Badger/Double Badger as a survival rifle.

Hello!

I'm sure many people before me have made this same invention. But I thought it would be a cool thing to share with you!

I lost the compensator for my target 10/22. I was ordering a new one and I looked at the concept and a empty coca cola bottle and thought fuck it. This is a place for some inventing,

Last week I went to a machine shop whit some dimensions and request and this is what I came up with!

An Endcap/Silencer! Screwn on bacwards it protects the barrel and threads, turn it around and attach an empty bottle and vola: You have a very effective silencer.

And trust me, I was surprised. This thing is just about as effective as a real silencer when using a 2-3mm thick plastic bottle.

Hope you like it :)

Why is the Marine Corps the meme-iest branch? It's like they understood the value of symbols and traditions and this image of being a tough, hardened killer and used it in their recruitment, despite their apparent hardships compared to the other branches. Was this intentional or did it come naturally?

They're the slightly retarded red-headed step child that wasn't given quite enough attention so they're bitter, and the chain of command passes down this bitterness to the new guys so its a perpetual cycle of butthurt.

And now they're getting attention because the US government let them take some islands from rice farmers and need to prove something because they'll never quite equal the armies achievements, everyone says they're great but they know they're inadequate.

they spend the most on marketing. To build up an image what a marine and the marine corp are.

Can you find a good modern reproduction of a winchester 1887 and a good barrel for skeet and trap?

Or would you be able to use modern loadings in an old 1887 if you could actually find one for sale?

I've always wanted one and think it would be a fun gun for taking to the shotgun club to have something different.

Not sure if the repro's are any good but they are affordable.

I think it's advised that you use pretty light loads in them.

My buddy has gone back and forth about selling his 12 gauge model. His grandpa owned it, then his dad, now him. He has considered getting rid of it because his dad was/is an alcoholic and beat his mom and him. His dad also took out a bunch of loans under my friends name so that really fucked my friend over and he has to file for bankruptcy. So yeah, hates his dad and I don't blame him. But he's never fired the thing so I can't comment on how awesome it shoots.

>I think it's advised that you use pretty light loads in them.
In only the orginal 1887s, or does that apply to the reproductions too?
>>
Should be fine with AA low brass low recoil target loads.
