I volunteered at a local hostel a while back. One old fella I had to help had been in the Southern Rhodesian army. So I was intrigued as I had never heard much about it. I found this video. Is it a good assessment of what was going on?

any skinnyfags on here have one of these carriers? I bought a bds tactical plate carrier and it doesn't fit me. I don't want this happening again so I came here to ask.

Hey /k/ommandos. so just in case anyone cared... after the advice and some research yesterday I just picked up the (pictured) above. so far happy with it. I doubt I'll make it to the range today. but sometime this week. also have a screw on belt clip thingy on its way, fuck yea Amazon prime.

what martial art(s) does /k/ think would be most effective if SHTF or in a streetfight type scenario where you'd be fighting one or two opponents ei. I'm a smaller guy (5'8-5'9 170-180 @ low bf) and am looking towards more grappling/throwing oriented stuff like bjj judo & wrestling but am obviously open to suggestions.

Like the subject says: In an "active shooter" situation, how would responding police or other concealed carriers differentiate YOU from the actual bad guy?

Say there's an active shooter on a college campus that has 3 buildings. Say you and three other licensed concealed carriers are in building 1 and so is the bad guy. Say you don't know there are 3 other concealed carriers in the building and vice versa.

If you, the concealed carriers and the bad guy are now moving around inside a building, all carrying handguns and scanning for threats, what do you if you see another man carrying a firearm? What do police do if they see you with a gun and shoot you on the basis of a description of the bad guy who looks a lot like you?

We know these would be the most legally sound decisions to make. However, I really want to see a good counter to the liberal argument of "CCers will just shoot other CCers by accident in an active shooter situation plus police won't be able to tell right away and will shoot anyone who looks like they are holding a gun."

So, looks like China has managed to build and mas-issue an OICW-like weapon weighting about 5kg fully loaded, and being compact enough for even their smaller guys to use as standard rifle.

Why cant America?

So, I'm probably going to pick up a Glock in the next few days as a range/potential carry gun.(Probably the 19)

I shoot most Glocks pretty well and they feel good, but I'm wondering what /k/ would say are good alternatives they've enjoyed to check out before I commit to a Glock.

Transport bombers are the best idea I've ever heard.

They are regular civilian airliners like 737s and 747s with bomb doors added, maybe refueling capabilities and a few flares.

The advantages are numerous. There is a preexisting worldwide supply chain for spare parts and maintenance techs/pilots. The planes are much cheaper (70-150mil each vs 2000mil for a b1).

Their range is truly amazing, much further than a b-52 (they were designed for efficiency and cost effectiveness after all). Even 737s can fly from CA to HI no problem. Modern 787s are even better.

Fill them with either air launched cruise missiles or 2000lb bombs on rotary racks. 737 can carry 35, a 747 can hold 72.

Pair them with a P-8 and an AWACS. Add a fighter escorts.

And they can be readily converted between bomb loadouts, troop transport, and strategic airlift. Logistics is one of the most important factors in any war.

What does /k/ think? Useful concept or are there considerations I'm not seeing?

So... My wifes father is giving me one of his muzzleloaders because he just never uses it.

Problem is... I've never owned or operated a muzzleloader before. its a thompson center impact series .50 muzzleloader, and i was hoping for some advice or videos I can watch to learn about my new weapon before I make myself look like at ass at the range.

Also, because we are going up to New Hampshire to pick it up, coming from Tennessee... We are going to have to drive through NY, and its too frickin expensive to ship it store to store. Any advice on getting through new york?

How do we make the concept of heavy infantry viable again /k/?

My idea is that we get really big (300+lbs at no more that 25 percent bf) guys (4u) and then cover them in armor and issue heavy weapons.

The armor maybe slightly powered but it doesn't have to be, I'm thinking we wrap then in 100-200 lbs of dragonskin or some other armor that can take a ton of repeat hits before failure, then put some stuff underneath to give blast resistance like an eod suit (disclaimer: I have no idea how an eod Suit works).

Then each guy is issued at least a saw or antimaterial rifle. Now these troops Sure as hell won't operate on their own, they'd be mixed in with other units like tiger tanks were in ww2 armored divisions, to give extreme concentration of force and to give targets that will soak up enemy fire.

The units would be entirely defensive or at most, shock troops during the very beginning of a battle, they'd get quickly out maneuvered by both the enemy and their own troops.

Also how good would brewster body armor be made out or ceramic? The old ww1 steel version took 20 plus 30 cal shots to the chest plate while a person was inside it.
