Where could a guy find the cumulative kill count for the BF-109 including all users? Considering how widely the '109 was used one would think it took down a large number of aircraft.
>>29714787
They were indeed the 2nd most destroyed aircraft in the history of aviation.
I have a book on LW aces - there were more than 100 LW aces who achieved 100 or more kills so that is at least 10000 Aerial Victories alone - I think the real figure is 13,000 or 14,000 thats is for only 100 pilots....
The 109 would have had over 20000 kills easily. In 1941 to the start of 1942 the Red Army Air Force lost 20000 planes alone to all causes. Many through ground attack but there were thousands air to air.
not a med-fag, just want general discussion.

Is the 75th ranger reg actually cool? Or is it wanna be secret squirrel? I'm a marine and I was thinking about trying to join them. Does anyone have any experience with them? And can anyone tell me any hoops I might have to jump through?
Sorry about the irrelevant pic my phone wouldn't upload my other one..but to be fair capt.pancake face was a ranger
>>29714774
Ranger, is close to being for Army what Recon is to USMC.
Close is not the same though.
They have a oretty good mission, essentially elite infantry combined with elite scouts. you can get booted from Ranger units for failing to meet the standards.
The hoops involved are:
DA 4187 (personnel action request) to a Ranger unit.
go through RASP/RIP (Ranger boot camp where they try to make you cry and quit).
then BOOM you are a RANGER. the ever popular RANGER tab you see on sleeves denotes you went to Ranger School, which is basically a really hard leadership course and does not a Ranger make.
also Google 75th Ranger Reg for a better explanation.
>>29715068
Okay so let's say I jump the hoops and cut the red tape. How hard is it to request to go to green barrette training from a ranger reg or once you get a ranger tab. Or do you just have to kickass at ranger?
I am doing a research paper on pocket sized impact weapons and was wondering your thought relating to a universal standard that can be used to compare them.
While I have come up with many factors and created objective criteria for them, I am having trouble thinking up a objective measure of effectiveness that makes sense for a research paper.
I have come up with delivery of force; concentration of force but it feels like I am missing something to have the best possible analysis.
Thoughts?
did you not take a basic physics class?
>>29714747
>delivery
>concentration
>and usefulness as other things
That's a pointless one though...i guess here's some more
>devastation
>psychological impact on user or witnesses
>force projection
>>29714775
>devastation
>force projection
What do you mean by these?
People who collect knives instead of guns are either underage, liberals or neckbeards
>>29714701
Collecting knives is a chef thing also
>He doesn't collect both
>>29714701
>not collecting both
kill yourself
So I'm trying to be a Correction's Officer in a prison and I'm certain people on /k/ would be right up this alley.
Regarding the REACT test, are there any study guides or tips to make sure I pass?
Get to kill birds, deer, and shit on Offutt AFB and speed down the runway when there's nothing in the pattern it's pretty fun
>>29714764
Not op but like the sound of this, can you tell me more?
>>29714828
It's usda wildlife management we try to prevent bird and deer strikes on planes. Cause 3 fucking pelicans can take down a rc135 and cause a ton of costly damage. Also you set traps and what not for hawks and other birds.
Do polished ammo make any difference compared to none polished ammo and if so then what is the difference between the two?
I don't know op
>>29714592
Nickle washed cases are supposed to air in extraction.
I dont know if it really does but its cool to throw reloads in the media tumbler to shine them up.
>>29714592
Polished ammo can reduce the friction between the bullet and the bore, making shots more consistent. Polished brass can increase reliability by aiding feeding and extraction. If not completely removed, polished ammo can also expose your bore and chamber to the polishing compound, increasing wear over the long term.
/k/ I just bought an m10 bayonet (pic related) at a yard sale for 15$ without know a good price... did I do good?
Also new acquisitions thrad
>>29714535
Collectible manufacturer ones, and bayo's in particularly good condition can go for anywhere from $50-$100 so assuming it isn't shit tempered, bent, or falling apart $15 is pretty good
>>29714620
ok ty man
So that whole well regulated militia thing, and the definition that 'the militia' means 'the people'.
Isn't that kind of fucked up? Are we expected to just...get rounded up and made to fight or get hanged as traitors? Volkssturm style?

>Implying the 2nd amendment is the only amendment.
Don't get it twisted big dog.
No one is going to force you. N one forces people to own guns.
Ayyyyyyyyy
I don't get it what is the reference here

>all of these pic related bad-ass career fields minus security forces
da fuk?
Combat Control have the best headwear.
>>29714250
Did another Marine call you soft at a TDY anon? Chill, you get a rental car and your own hotel room, enjoy the benefits.
>>29714250
The percentage of airmen in those career fields is insignificant.
So, I bought gen 1 ir polish tanker nightvision goggles online.
When I touch the power connector to a 9 volt battery, the pack on he back buzzes, but I cannot see anything through the goggles, just black. I have:
1) made sure the helmet is set to 12vdc, not 24vdc.
2) goggle covers were removed.
3) I have not powered them up in daylight, just a darkened room in my basement.
4) I used a flashlight and the ir headlight covers to create ambient ir light.
Did I buy a bum pair or do I need the 12 volts before they'll power up green? I dont know anything about night vision goggles, should I be able to see through them anyways without power?
Also if anybody knows what the white thing is an what the black paste is for, that'd be cool too.
And this extra connector. I assume it was for the ir spotlight that was not included.
>>29714152
Sounds like you burned out the resistors using 9v instead of 12v, hence the humming.
good job bricking an already useless set of NVG
>hurr, if I plug a 220v appliance into a 110v socket, will it werk???

No. The AR-15 exists. The CZ-75 is an also-ran improved BHP. Tbhfam I think the 1911 is the finest pistol out there with the only real contender being the Beretta 92FS
>>29714138
1911 is a good gun, but serving as the predecessor to browning system pistols, it's pretty much inferior to CZ 75 and derived firearms, since these improve the browning system in every way.
AR-15 system has its direct impingement system which tends to fill it's mechanism with fouling if you shoot anything other than the piss poor 223.
>>29714087
I think it's the best as Browning system pistols ever went (unsurprisingly, since it's probably one of the newest browning system pistols built from ground up), but surely other handguns of other mechanisms surpass it in certain areas.
No gun is perfect.
Except the Colt SAA.
