500 years is a very long time, lot of stuff can happen to societies and the planet in general in half a millennia
Think of it this way, The United States of America has only really existed as a country for ~240 years.
So we are talking less than half of the time-frame you are suggesting.
I would look at the weapons of that time period, and what was owned by federal forces or in private hands, compare that to what is owned by federal forces today and private hands today and extrapolate for the future.

So I was looking around on Google maps when I spotted this about 50 miles north of China Lake NAWS in the Mojave Desert of California.
It's basically out in the middle of nowhere and it's clearly some sort of kill house complex. What really intrigues me is the ship.
Anyone have any idea what this is, past just a kill house complex?

Can a /k/ommando help me out? I want to know if pic related was my gun's fault or my ammo's fault.
I ask because I've had jams in other guns before but none looked like this and I wasn't examining my ammo while loading. Gun is a NIB 2014 LCP and ammo was whatever Federal calls their white box stuff. This happened on the 2nd round of the Federal but I had no problems shooting through the rest of the box. 132 Rounds total of various brands today with just that one hangup.

Tough to say but I would guess combo of the gun and you.
Since it's a new gun and it was the 2nd round decent odds that you had a slightly off grip or something.

Gun was clean and lubed. Also this happened after a box of Winchester.
Your guess is what I assumed at first but the way the copper from the bullet is pulled over the case seems unusual to me. Never seen that before and I'm not sure it's even possible to do. Looks more like the case shaved off some copper during assembly but I could easily be wrong.

For $300 you can apparently convert your 1911 to fire a special snowflake cartridge that is similar to .44 magnum while retaining the ability to fire .45 ACP. Is this a good idea, or is it a waste of money that can kill your gun? Pic related.

Used my friend's p320 to qualify for my ltc license and a couple more times after that. Its chambered in .357sig.
Its a great shooting striker-fired pistol. The trigger is incredibly more smoother than a glock trigger. It has quite the take-up but the break is crisp. You can feel the reset with a definite 'click' to reassure you it is ready to fire again. No failures of any kind. Good stock sights. It is impressively precise.
I expected the recoil to be strong but was pleasantly surprised that it is very time, all things considering.
I liked it a lot for what it is. A good polymer striker-fired pistol.

In a limited nuclear exchange scenario, why did the emphasis shift from mass destruction to removing the enemy's capability to strike? Over and over, I hear about how important it became to accurately guide nuclear ICBM's towards their Russian counterparts, in order to reduce the Russian capabilities. But why not just strap a kinetic warhead on that thing and basically turn the missile into a bunker buster? Why would they need to expend nuclear weapons just to destroy what are basically just hardened bunkers?

Well i'm thinking within the scope of how dangerous a "limited" or "theater" exchange of nuclear weapons is. If your objective is to remove the enemy's capability to strike, or at least deter it, why would you shoehorn such a comically overpowered weapon into the role of a glorified bunker buster, especially when the use of such a weapon is basically a warrant for all out war, nuclear or otherwise?
