Hey guys; I'm looking for an american-made knife I can EDC that'll primarily be used in life-threatening situations. So far I've been looking at pic related and Benchmade Triage series along with next pic related as they are the closest I could find to what my ideals are. Ideally I want the knife to be capable of cutting seat belts and breaking glass that also a pointed blade ( no Sheepsfoot or O.B. ) for use in self-defense with a blade length of no more than 2.49 inches ( which has been the biggest challenge along with being American made ( I'm open to some other countries but want to avoid China and some others ). I understand I'll have to compromise somewhere and I'm hoping /k/ ( with a community of Leo and understand the rules of their area and other areas ) can help me out.

I don't know any specific models, but I know it's a hot item at marine supply stores because "deck knives" are a thing, intended for cutting straps and lines in dangerous situations like someone getting caught in a bite or a cable getting strained faster than you can untie it. So yeah. Try the boat store
>>29925656
why such a short blade? the Contego is great, but it's way outside of that parameter
could you stomach having a separate rescue tool to your knife?
why do you want a knife for self defense, and why the fuck would you want one that's less than 2.49 inches. the most important thing about a self defense weapon is the amount of reach it gives you over an opponent, at least as far as hand to hand goes.
At weighing 130k tons(more than a supercarrier) and possessing 8x 20 inch guns, if the Germans had built these things in WW2 they would still be afloat today and virtually unsinkable.

if the germans had seriously attempted bulding them tank production would have fallen through the floor and the eastern front wouldve collapsed
the hulls would have been bombed to scrap in their drydocks by lancasters and b-24s
if they had somehow made it out onto the ocean they woulve been torpedoed in minuites, bombed to shit in hours and if somehow they made it that far they wouldve had the entire royal and american navys assorted battleships unleashing unspeakable amounts of hell onto them
also the whole project was a hoax to spook allied naval intelligence

1.The H-class were mostly conjectural designs. Only the H-39 was considered for production.
2.The U.S navy idea that any gun larger than 16 inches was impractical was essentially correct. Yamato's gun turrets weighed as much as a contemporary destroyer; its blast effects could tear the flesh off anyone standing within 100 feet of the guns, heart palpitations from repeated exposure notwithstanding.
3. The difficulty of manufacture of not only the guns, but of the ship itself would require that Germany halt production on smaller, more nimble craft or on fortifications. Battleships of that era took up to 3-5 years to be battle-ready on average. Yamato took around 7. This would likely be a ship 10 years in the making.
4. Where is the fuel coming from?
Why does it seem everyone in the military (Mostly Army and Marines) who arent in a combat MOS constantly feel the need to show they are just as important/badass as a combat MOS?
>MP's are basically fucking infantry!!
>If it wasnt for me being an armorer the 0311's would be fucked!!
>at least we dont have to fucking march all day with a heavy ruck!!
Not only this but they are also the first ones to mention being in the military, or bringing up the fact that "I served"
>I am/was not in the military by the way.
>>29925586
Feeling important is like a basic human need
>>29925586
the same reason you made this thread, OP: they're fags
>>29925586
But MPs really are the same as infantry. We go out and patrol just like infantry

It is unfortunate that this perception brought attention to our Alma Mater for all the wrong reasons.”

The Las Vegas Review Journal, the largest newspaper in Las Vegas, is holding a poll on Universal Background Checks for private sales in Nevada. Bloombert has infiltrated Nevada and has spent millions trying to get a UBC passed in the state.
Please vote against this bill. It's already on the cusp of passing into law and we need all the help we can get to fight it.
Here is the link to the POLL, forgot to post it

No one wants you, even if you promise to vote pro freedom you will revert to your inborn Californian ways

A single pilot can fly a CAS aircraft, find targets, and use weapons at the same time, but at least a crew of 3 is needed to operate a much slower MBT on the ground.
Why can't we have MBTs which can be operated by a single crew?
Because planes are generally pointing at whatever they're firing at and radar just gives you an awareness of what's around you. When there's a decent radar that can provide situational awareness on the ground, it'll be more likely we'll see tanks with fewer crew.
Notice how attack helicopters have two crew members? It's so one guy can focus on shooting at stuff whilst the other focuses on not crashing into things.
Anytime an armed vehicle can aim in a direction other than the one it's traveling, you're going to need at least two crewmembers.
>>29924583
>>29924626
Also, planes go very fast and in the air.
An armored vehicle on the ground can be fucked up by many more things than a plane flying, so extra-eyes are always nice.
Russians in Afghanistan found that 4 men tanks were sometimes better than 3 men tanks because of that, plus it's an extra guy that can help with repairs and all.
When you fly a plane, you won't need to do repair on the spot, with a tank or a vehicle, it's not entirely impossible.
Are you really open carrying on our carside to go date from Applebee's?

Purchasing decision thread
Hakim or FN49?
I want a Semi-Auto in 8mm Mauser, mainly since I already have the ammo for it, but can't really decide between the two.
If you could only get one, which one and why?
>>29924471
Boy, that's a really tough decision. Both are great.
IMO, I would buy both because why not?
>>29924508
Agreed.
Except I'll still say FN49, for reasons.
>>29924471
FN49. The Ljungman/Hakim system and manual of arms is so weird and counter intuitive to me. Having to manipulate the safety between reloads in order to not have a broken thumb seems stupid as all get out to me as well.

>be casually shopping for a particular model of gun
>find a nice one, but don't have the money for it atm
>sells for $450, another one sells for $500, another one sells for $480
>$450-500 seems to be their standard selling price
recently
>have $500 on hand, still shopping for the same model of gun
>seller has a few of them
>last week, half a dozen in excellent condition sold for $480-500
>find another nice one, place a bid
>get outbid
>somewhat pissed, keep placing bids out of sheer curiosity
>final bid is over $700
>gun isn't worth nearly that much, don't want to overpay anyway
>also don't want to set a precedent for these guns to make other auctions go that high
>lose auction, gun gets away
Why is it always some little shit with zero fucking feedback who bids the price up to the fucking Moon? So fucking pissed right now.
Can I get a general Gunbroker rage stories thread?
>Win Auction on Gunbroker
>Give him FFL information all that good shit for it to ship
>Gets to ffl
>"Sorry but we don't take transfers from a non-ffl"
>Spend a week trying to sort it out
>my FFL finally gives in and lets it through
Now I have to pay an extra $30 in shipping it seems if I get something on Gunbroker
>tired of the memories attached to my gun
>decide to use gun broker to auction it off
>take 7 hours to write out the perfect ad
>just waiting for it to go live
>finally the time comes
>"Sorry, but the item you have requested is no longer in the system."

Talking about Zim Zam's PF9? What the fuck happened to that?
Do you think we have operators up there ?
Can you even prove North Korea exists
North Korea is notoriously hard to infiltrate.
>>29924451
I think no one bothers because it'll collapse on it's own.
