Sup /k/. I just got my first paycheck from my new job. To celebrate I'm blowing half of it on a firearm. What should I waste 800$ on. Best answer in 3 hours or second person to get trips wins. Will post proof of purchase.

Does /k/ know any sites that don't fuck you with shipping rates?
I feel like I can never find a deal when its $15 to ship literally one thing
>>30015238
UPS base shipping price is like $9 or $10. Not the company's fault.
I need to order a new magazine catch spring and every site wants to charge me over $5 for a .68 cent item. Called 4 local stores here and they all told me they didn't stock any parts, except for the last one which was under renovation.

>mfw Brownells Edge so I never pay shipping AND I have a gunsmith discount
>mfw Brownells is pretty much the only place I buy from now because between those two things, they're about the cheapest place

AK owners, I need some suggestions. The iron sights on AK's are known to be terrible. What optics do you use, and where did you get it? I've been looking at some POSP and PKA scopes for authenticity, but I would like some outside opinions.
I'm interested in low end magnification, but I'm also leaning towards no magnification red dot type optics. I just can't decide.
I'm torn
>>30015138
get a ghost ring to improve the irons and then go from there
Why don't we?
What soldier has the biggest amount of kills during a time of war? I doubt Simo Häyhä's kill could rival the amount killed by Temüjin. And airfags don't count since they aren't fighters and are barely military.

Thoughts on this company? How is their ammo? Good source for good qualitycheap ammo? Or should I look elsewhere? Please help fellow /k/ommandos.
>>30014749
Their ammo is good. I would not pay as much for reloads as they charge (and after you add on shipping) most of the time, but when they have sales, the prices are very competitive.
The one thing they are really good for, though, is if you like to have an affordable hollow point on hand to test your new guns with. For example, you can get a box of 9mm reloads with Hornady XTP bullets for $15, which is unreal. An example of this kind of use is if you buy an older gun and are uncertain if it will reliably feed hollow points. It's always better to test with at least 100 rounds. Never stop testing after only one or two magazines.

Thanks for the thoughful input. Anyone have a good source for decent price ammunition?

Honestly, with their spotty safety record, I'd rather just buy a fuckton of Blazer or Lawman.

Aim, CDI Sales and Buds have all had quite a number of surplus pre-B CZ 75's in stock for the past week or so, mainly good to very good condition, late 80s to early 90s production, with some transitional models mixed in.
Has anybody else who ordered one gotten theirs yet?
I just picked mine up from the FFL a little earlier today. It's 1989 production, with polished blued finish. The single action trigger is more crisp than the 75B's I've owned, although I was surprised to learn that these early guns have a magazine brake built into the magwell. Fortunately, that's a simple part swap to get the mag to drop free, which I intend to do. Overall, pretty happy with the condition for the $400 I paid.
Are these Israeli surplus?
>>30014869
I forgot to ask, but I'd imagine they are. Why does it matter? It was still made by CZ. My gun was taken care of pretty well, and doesn't look like the usual sandbox surplus guns which tend to look like they were stored in damn burlap.

If we added large railguns to sufficiently armoured warships, would the Battleship be practical again?
Unless significant advances were made in regards to armor, no. The battleship will not rule the waves again.

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.
>>30014589
>Wanting a gun you can carry a lot of ammo for and for which ammo will be relatively common even in a time of scarcity.
Fucking absurd
>>30014618
5.56 is fine within its range and against other people, but in a anarchic situation you will likely need to live off the land and spend time in the wilderness, in which case you want more than a varmint rifle.
7.62x51 will also be extremely common, has twice the range, and can drop a bear or other big game more easily.
5.56 is a badass rounds. Just look at that fragmention.
Meanwhile, OP is lugging his 12 pound fudd m14 around, wondering why he cant carry more than 150 rounds at a time.
Going to my first gun show tomorrow, should I expect to find anything besides overpriced guns? Any good gun show stories?

So Tennessee is awesome.
I'm from Ohio, also great IMO.
I'm forced to go to Memphis on vacation which I'm told is:
>Liberal shit hole
>high crime rate
>Minority rich
I'll be taking a gun. Is there anything to know about Memphis conceal carry laws?
TN is awesome! The CC laws are the same as everywhere else in the state. But definitely bring a gun. A big one with lots of ammo preferably.
>>30014426
>A big one
I was actually thinking about buying a small one just for the trip. Was hoping someone could give me some insight if all the tourist stops will or won't have no gun stickers up, if people in the city will be chill if I accidentally imprint or do I really need to cautious about the concealed aspect of it?
We're going to some pink house thing and some bbq place my sister saw on TV. Possibly our last family vacation together so I want to play along and enjoy it.
