I've almost 15 years working as an analyst at a think tank[No, I won't say which.]. Nearly all of my time has been spent researching military aircraft; whether thru examinations of individual types, more broad strategic applications, and anything in-between.
I'm not a super-genius, just very very competent in my field of study. And I'm here to answer any questions you all may have.

What do you think of the A-10?
Are the Chinese jets any good? Can they compete with western counterparts on an idividual dual basis or will they rely on a swarm tactic of sorts?

What is your opinion of the F-35?
Lets get a good movie thread going, primarily focusing on being a bad ass operator.
Lone Survivor
Secret Operators allowed too.
Gotta have Spectre in here too.
ITT, pictures of things that people do to get around firearms legislation.
All comers welcome. In fact, it would be nice if we could try to make an effort to avoid California specific firearms, since we all know what that looks like at this point anyways.
What am I looking at here?

UK legal handguns, apparently.
They'd have to be chambered in .22, since they're semi-automatic.
Whats up with the stick coming out of the bottom?
Lets get a new infographic thread going

>Google your local gun store
>find the reviews
>find the most fuddy/stupid/weird/shit customer service one star review you can
>post and laugh or cringe
>Google my relatively small LGS
>Only two reviews
>Both are five stars
Not surprising. Those guys are awesome.
My favorite one star review for a LGS was someone screaming about how awful the place is and how nobody should go there.
The owner of the store explained calmly in detail the guy who left the review was an employee who ND'd, almost into someone else by a few centimeters and got fired.
The store was shit anyway and the people there sucked but that particular review made me laugh.

My local gun store is a 1 star establishment though.

If you're trying to decide what a good weapon would be for conceal carry you need to take into consideration a few different factors.
If you live in a communist state where you are limited to 10 round magazines, 9mm might be taken off the list since you could opt for a .45 since aside from recoil control and lighter weight, 9mm loses it's advantage of having more rounds in a single magazine over a heavier cartridge.
So if you're worried about urban youth in your area, but you work a lot and don't want to worry about printing you could go with a subcompact. I am personally worried about your mom so what I usually carry is my dick.
Anyone can recommend a Lc9s pro?? How's the quality in the build compare to mp and glock.

Yesterday while walking to the mail box one of the neighbors dogs was in their back yard. S/he usually barks at me, but I just pay it no mind because it's behind a fence. However, on the way back I noticed the dog was chewing on the fucking metal fence! It has teeth marks all up and down the fence where this dog is trying to chew his way through the fence.
So my questions /k/: should I start carrying to the mail box? What are the laws/repercussions of shooting one of these barking lawsuits? Pic related.
>>30052464
i think it has to exhibit agressive behavior before its justified, it was in your backyard though so that intrusion itself might be enough justification.
I mean. Just because it's chewing to get out doesn't meant it's coming to kill you. That being said. I'd carry just to be safe. And shooting a dog that gets loose and shows aggression is not really a lawsuit that the dog's owner can win. And chances are that if police got involved the owner would be liable for some charge because it's their dog that they didn't secure properly.
>>30052464
Try talking with your neighbours about it too, unless you know it's a lost cause. And always keep in mind dog atacks are fast and silent. Don't get worried when it barks, get worried when it's quiet and you can't see it.
I don't know what the laws are like where you live, but it sounds like a pretty clear cut case of self defense if the dog is outside the fence and threatening/attacking you.

Going into the Army with the ultimate goal of going PSYOPS. Going via OCS and am gonna try to either branch Infantry, Intel, Artillery, or Engineer. Does anyone know what the process of becoming a PSYOPS officer is like? To go to selection from what I understand you need to be 1st LT promotable. If you perform well as an officer for about 3 or 4 years do you stand a good shot of getting picked up for selection if you put in a packet? Also, there seems to be very little about PSYOPS selection itself. Is it roughly the same as SFAS? As in log PT, rucking, generally smoking you, and land nav? What are the differences?
Hello /k/
I'd like to hear your guys' thoughts on clothing for war-fighting. I know that soldiers just mostly wear what they are issued, but I'm curious what you guys think is the best clothing for combat or what traits of clothing one should look for before going into a firefight. This thread isn't necessarily oriented towards camo, but feel free to weigh in on that as well. Is it better to have textiles which are synthetic, breathable, waterproof, with velcro, without velcro, or otherwise?
TL;DR: Best clothes for operating.

Nice cop out faggit.
>>30051119
First in my mind is durability. Every soldier knows that you will absolutely beat the shit out the knees of your pants. Reinforced seat and crotch are good too. Ripstop nylon is good and a lot of outdoor clothes use it.
>>30051119
Tighter pants, tighter groups.
Hey /k/ are antique pistols viable for personal defense?
Interested in owning my first firearm, how can I purchase one without a papertrail? Or no paperwork basically.
>>30050932
They worked back then and they'll work now
I've got an old Bodeo revolver I'll carry
Or you could just buy a modern handgun from a private seller and not have to fill out any paperwork, unless you live in a cuck state.
>>30050938
Man those revolvers are nice, I would love to own one, I really like the .38 Lemon squeezers.
