I've never had any encounters with Cops, but I wonder, what do cops expect you to do when they say "drop your weapon"?

Do they expect you to hold it and lower it to the ground and let it go? Directly drop it from hand-level? Someone with more experience explain this to me.

What if the fun isn't drop-safe and it goes off when dropped (pursuant to a police cop saying "DROP THE GUN!")? Will the cops shoot me anyway because they hear gunfire?

Anything's possible, but most guns that aren't SIGtrash are designed not to fire when dropped. Even cowboys would carry their single actions with the hammer down on an empty chamber for that reason.

Depends where your gun safe is. If it's in your bedroom, a butter knife might do. If it's in your garage, you might need a halberd.

Depends on your country. Many countries that require safes dont recognize self defense with a weapon as justified.

My reaction depends heavily on what's being broadcast on the news, internet, radio, etc.

The internet is centralized enough at this point that they can probably cut a few nodes and call it a day, and they can even knock down cell towers in a blanket radius, but I don't think they're going to be able to shut down all AM and FM radio, or compel them to not talk about whatever's happening. Because I happen to live in a state capitol.

And if they got that, they still aren't gonna put a dent in HAM and pirate radio operators - or even just a bunch of enterprising fuckwits with rasberry pis, transmitters and a willingness to daisy chain a net all over the place. So I'll get some news of what's happening, one way or another.

I have the Ruger, and I have had nothing but problems with it, a faulty trigger pin, constant jamming, and the bolt carrier gets pretty torn up.
