What melee weapons would give you the best odds of survival in a fight with Gigantopithecus blacki?
>>30191248
Normal hunting weapons won't work, that things arms are longer than a boar spear.
Your only chance is a long spear, preferably with a large group of men attacking from all directions. If you are on your own and it grabs your spear you are fucked.
>>30191248
Kaltec, seems to work on blackis pretty good.
A pike. The longest pike you can find.
Or a big Macuahuitl.
ooh, what could this be?
Its garbage
>>30191148
could it be the free swatch of Rhodie camo I asked to be shipped with explicitly no furry shit on it?
A shitty piece of eastern bloc surplus that was made in the millions, smells like ass, and no-one here cares about because why do we need to see pictures of the same fucking thing for the six-millionth time.

Hey /k/. I need to know if I'm in the right here.
>be out with puppers
>going to whole foods for fresh food for my puppers
>leave dogs in truck with windows and sunroof cracked open
>hot as day in a big Texas city (affluent are)
>CC into whole foods even store doesn't allow it
>apparently it's illegal in my state to leave babies and dogs in cars
>walk out and see my dogs barking like mad and a young hot bitch trying to smash my window
>push cart out of the way and draw pointing at woman
>yell WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING GET ON THE GROUND
>bitch starts yelling some shit at me. I don't listen and keep yelling for her to get on the ground.
>she turns around and is still yelling. Honestly not listening and yelling for her to get on the ground.
>she's about 35 feet away and walks towards me
>yell DONT COME CLOSER, GET ON THE GROUND
>she's briskly walking to me
>she gets to arms length and I take my left hand off my pistol and pistol whip her in the forehead and use my left hand to shove her to the ground
>pavement is hot as fuck
>yell CALL 911 she tried to break into my car and assault me
>she's bleeding from the face but she's laying on the ground
>gun aimed on her and tell her to spread her arms and legs like a starfish (my exact words)
>she bitches at me but I keep telling her to shut up and not move until police arrives
>she goes to jail since I press charges. Cop tells me not to leave dogs in the car.
I partially have that encounter on video and all on unclear audio. Cops have my phone right now until they get the video. Am I in the right? I didn't get charged with anything.
>>30191073
>Am I in the right?
you weren't charged
the cops vindicated you
and now you need approval from an anonymous chinese cartoon imageboard?

Well it's not like posting about it online instead of getting a lawyer is going to hurt your chances! Calling her a bitch is a great idea too :^)

They weren't praising me as a hero. I was treated like a criminal just the same. But after showing them my CHL and my other info I was allowed to leave wth my gun.
My take on this situation is what the fuck.
Quick question guys, I am buying a Glock and I have been planning and trying to decide all week.
I just got back from the Sheriffs office for handgun permit, about to order from Buds.
I was gonna do Glock 43 and an extra mag, and 3 mag extensions, and some accessories and shit i'll need for CCW.
But I am thinking I could drop the accessories and do a Glock 19, and have that capacity I want. It would be abound the same price.
What do? First handgun, long time rifle and AR-15 shooter.
>>30191019
Glock 26
Mag extensions just make it shitty.
>>30191019
>>30191019
get the 19
You just buy a Shield and accessories instead

What strategic lessons or military axioms have you learned from your various readings?
From Alexander and Cyrus to Westmoreland and Schwarzkopf, discuss and post tactical tidbits and lessons you've learned

>>30190935
This isn't from a reading but from modern events.
When a conflict is 2 sided but there's 3 sides involved, you have to be selective about your commitment to destroying enemy forces.
For example: Syria. The US wants to defeat the Islamic State while simultaneously keeping as much of the country out of Assad's hands as possible but without actually fighting his or his backers' forces. That means you have to make sure not to gut your enemy's entire army such that the whole front collapses and the 3rd party can exploit your common enemy's collapse.
The US is already trying to do this. For example:
1. they have not cut the Islamic State forces in Iraq off from Syria, because that would involve going through Deir-ez-Zor and relieving the siege of Assad's forces there. Thus, the US-backed SDF has stopped north of Deir ez-Zor and has advanced no further.
2. They have chosen to target Manbij rather than al-Taqba, as advancing to al-Taqba would directly draw off forces opposing the Syrian army (which is also advancing to al-Taqba), allowing them to more quickly advance into Raqqa province.
3. Though al-Qaeda is the enemy of the United States, they have virtually ignored the al-Qaeda branch in Syria because it is large and ties down a large number of Assad's forces.
4. They usually (unless the target is very strategically important) do not strike IS targets operating in areas nearer to the Syrian Army than the SDF.

When in doubt, "do something" and more than likely it's "go forward"
Panic and inaction has never helped in any sort of contextual situation. Even a horrifically failed charge with heavy losses is still better than sitting and letting them assfuck you.

Is this post-irony or are we now this stupid
How often does /k/ clean their guns? I had gotten into the habit of cleaning after every time I shoot, but now that I'm starting to shoot more I tend to do it every 2 trips or so. What about guns you rarely shoot?
>>30190888
Depends on what ammo I shoot
Tho basically always clean after or at least a wipe down
>>30190888
Depends on how much I shoot.
Couple mags? Quick wipe down, couple patches.
All day, or it's been a while (couple months) since the last thorough cleaning?
Full detail strip and clean.
Nice pic OP.

I was just asking because I usually detail strip it every time ,but last time I took my AR and sig out I just said fuck it and put them up. This was like a week ago.

10mm thread. Just got some cool ammo for my glock. What do y'all think? 96gr at 1800 fps hollow point
Will it kill bears?
A very hot and steamy round.
Why did Germany build so many unnecessary tanks and variants? Did they not consider logistics and maintenance? I guess you can say I'm a bit of a wehraboo, but I just think German tanks look badass more than anything else. You would think as the war dragged on, they would try to simplify production and lower costs, but no, just kept coming out with completely unnecessary shit instead of upgrading or improving the stuff they already had. Better yet, just fucking copy the T34 and call it a day.
Good tier:
>Pz. IV
Should have upgraded suspension and tracks after the new 75mm gun and armor were added, but overall a good tank.
>StuG III/IV
Another good design. Cheap to build, low profile for camouflage and ambushes. Cost-effective vs other tanks.
>Hetzer
Cheap, easy to hide, good gun against most allied tanks. Shit armor, but it's an ambush weapon.
Okay tier:
>Tiger I/Elefant
Why didn't this have sloped armor? Overweight, used a fuckton of fuel, unreliable, expensive. Amazing gun though.
>Panther/Jagdpanther
The transmission breaking after ~60 miles really holds it back. Also cheaper than the Tiger. If the transmission problems were fixed, it would be the best tank of WW2, but it didn't, so that honor belongs to the T34.
Shit tier:
>Tiger II/Jagdtiger
Way too heavy. Breaks down half the fucking time. Extremely expensive. Used even more fuel than the first Tiger.
>Jagdpanzer IV
What was the point of this? Why build this when you can just build a StuG IV?
Oh shit nigger what are you doing tier:
>Maus
>implying
This doesn't even account for the even more special snowflake variants, like the Brummbar, Sturmtiger,
>Nazis
>thinking about the logistical impact of their procurement decisions
You realize the Heer operated like 20 different kinds of trucks.
>>30190255
>Jagdpanzer IV
>What was the point of this? Why build this when you can just build a StuG IV?
It mounted a better gun and had better armor.
The tanks were designed by Hitler himself. His entire scheme was bigger is better (hence tiger, tiger II, and maus).
Obviously you can't say "no" to the fuhrer, so a lot of them were created or prototyped.
Anyone on /k/ have this gun?
I'm getting a lot of biased/unbalanced reviews.
Some say it's the ultimate Glock killer, while some say it's flimsy with jams, etc.
I'm being offered ~$460 for a brand new FNS 9.
I figured at that price, it's better than other striker-fired 9mm handgun, i.e M&P 9, XDM, etc. A G4 Glock 17, i'd have to pay over ~$510.
It literally is a glock killer. When people make all sorts of modifications to their glocks they're trying to turn it into an FNS-9.
So far I've had no issues with reliability. There are tradeoffs though.
Pros of FNS
>Fully ambidextrous
>Metal sights
>Metal mags (polymer suck if they get dirt on them or expand)
>Front slide serrations
>Full picatinny rail
Glock pros
>I like the ball in cup sights better
>Grip is less aggressive, which is also my preference
>33 round mags because fuck yeah
>Better aftermarket, but you won't need it for the FNS. Holster options are starting to increase, they even make an ALS for it now.
>>30189953
Had an fns and have an fnx now. I carry my glock less. Have a kid now. Wanted a true safety when carrying. It's a great gun.
Bought an FNS9 as my first handgun after some research and holding one for a while - feels perfectly natural in my hand.
I put a few hundred rounds through it a week, haven't had a single jam or other reliability issue. It's my carry gun and I love it to hell and back, would recommend.
Also, for the record, Glocks are kind of tacky.
