People don't like being forced to do things. I mean voting is compulsory in Brazil and look at all their shenanigans, they have like 30 joke candidates every election.

On a not related to OP's post however, how does /k/ feel about hasguns lefties? Particularly libertarian socialists and the like?

It's based. Because these people have actually the balls to say: if you want some kind of anarcho-socialism to work, everyone needs to be permanently mobilized -- but out of their own will, not because of authority.

So they have the following features:

>they have the mindset of doomsday preppers: own guns, learn to shoot, grow your food, etc.
>activism means they will keep up the good fight and try to have ppl engaged without dirty authoritarian tricks = the main idea is exactly gov shouldn't force you to do things, but you are also expected to fulfill your duties as a lefties
>possibly, the most demanding aspect is that you abide by some kind of economic vision. If you don't follow the vision you can fuck off. But they will not force you to adhere with authoritarian means

So basically they are like libertarian right but without some features of the right (namely, traditionalism). However we all know that even lefties, once they create their own "freedom towns", will eventually develop traditions like any other fucking tribe on the planet since world begun.

So it is a bit like having doomsday preppers who are not particularly religious, accept faggots and degenerates, and have a positive attitude towards weed.

Basically if you are a libertarian right-winger with a sense of community, a couple of gay childhood friends and you don't mind sharing goods when emergencies hit your folk... you will find yourself at ease among such very special brand of gun-wielding libtards.

a better criteria IMO is if you really liked the guns youve shot before.
you can become proficient with most any gun with enough practice but when it comes down to it, you should enjoy what you have.

Cant go wrong with a ar15 and a 590.

Honestly reading about Nazi helicopters and how they were basically only used for transport has me wondering why nobody really considered the potential of choppers as combat vehicles until the Vietnam era.

Does anybody know why this was? Was it because the helicopters of the day were too unreliable or flimsy to realistically survive any engagement?

Deer: 7mm Rem Mag Remington 700 BDL with 4-16x50 Burris XTR

Clothes are just mossy oak jeans and jacket, I stack on base layers to keep warm

Turkey: Remington 1100 wrapped in a bunch of camo tape
Same mossy oak outfit for deer, but rarely any base layers. Also a vest with a dozen pockets I never and a flip down pad which is really nice. I've been using the same box call since day one.

Squirrel: Remington 504 with 4x28 Leupold

Because it's an older design that never flooded the surplus market, few people here have hands on experience so everything there is to say is just repeated from elsewhere or speculation. Not to mention nobody has faith in the newer ones which are generally held to be a cash grab.

My suggestions for new ways to do olympic /k/ events:
pistol event involves .45 1911s, a knockout competition, both competitors in a stage get presented with 3 .45 1911s provided to them by the olympic committee, coin flip gets first pick. They must use each of the pistols provided to shoot three times at a target. Scoring for each pistol is 10 points minus the distance between each shot that hits the target in cm (so tightest grouping wins). In case of ties, furthest hit on the target from the target's bullseye loses.

next up is the tri/k/athalon - like current olympic rifle shooting events, competitors must do a bunch of physically gruelling tasks, including:
Packing a SHTF bag in a hurry.
Running cross country into the woods.
Shooting a series of targets along the way.

The big difference is that the competitors don't bring their own equipment, and must start from a "bedded start" - all competitors begin in small beds, thoroughly tucked in, and must disentangle themselves from the bedding upon the firing of the starting nugget.

They must then quickly get dressed and pack a SHTF bag - time is added to your final result for each item not packed into the bag.
Items include:
enough MREs to last a week
a kettle
5 rolls of toilet paper
enough canned beans to please ted cruz
bottled water
a dragon dildo of unusual size

In addition to the contents of the bag, competitors must carry three rifles throughout the competition.
1 Moist Nugget
1 AKMSU
1 M1 Garand

During the run through the woods there will be three targets for the competitors to shoot, failure to hit a target will be an instant disqual.

Targets include:
300 metres target shooting with the M1
50 metres broad side of a barn using the AK
half-mile prius shooting using the Nugget.

each target must be shot using the correct gun or it results in a disqualification.
