Could the last generation of the STUG kill a modern tank?
>>30318742
I always thought the StuG IV was nicer than the StuG III but that's just my opinion
>>30318742
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure about the stug but this could without a doubt.
>>30318753
That'd literally be a single-shot wonder at best.
So could the BT-42 theoretically knock out an M26?
>>30318622
yes

Those Finns were fucking crazy. Can the Christie Suspension really do that shit? On that terrain?
>In Jensen Beach, not far from the town where Mateen lived, a gun shop owner reported that Mateen visited his store in early May, asking about body armor and bulk ammunition, prompting employees to notify the FBI, The Palm Beach Post reported.
>Mateen briefly visited Lotus Gunworks in early May and during the short visit, made a phone call in a foreign language, said Robert Abell, the shop's co-owner.
How often do you think LGS employees narc to LEO?
>>30318588
Depends on the melanin content of your skin.
>>30318588
pretty sure all the time. they are not your friend, they are running a business.
>>30318588
>Lotus Gunworks

Hi you /k/unts.
I'm thinking of getting pic related as my first firearm.
Thoughts?
I'll be using it mainly for range shooting, and maybe for hunting deer in the future.
It comes in a shitload of calibers, but I'm thinking of getting it in .308 .
p.s I don't live in Clapistan, so that's why I'm getting a bolt-action.
>>30318576
Magazines are retard expensive. Not that that would really matter, given the shitty capacity.
But otherwise solid choice.
>>30318581
True, but 4+1 is enough for target shooting for me.
Shameless self bump
Post eerie or creepy Cold War stuff
Pic related is the Nekoma safeguard complex
>>30318494
Do they house giant mechas there to beat back aliens and traumatize their soft, slender, and nubile teen pilots?

brb, infiltrating.
Its a fucking EW radar.
Alright, so I've reached a point where I have enough money to purchase a personal armored vehicle. I've worked out all the shipping and stuff already, so I'm not worried about that.
I'm leaning toward a BTR-60 from Mortar Investments. I want to convert the engine to a CAT tractor engine with around 500hp. I know nothing about the actual working of the 8x8 and the transmission and such. I'm wondering if any of you guys know a damn thing about these things. I will completely remove the amphibious propulsion system, so that will free up some room in the engine compartment.
Is swapping an engine in one of these feasible?
Is there another armored vehicle that would be a better choice than the BTR-60?
Obviously this will be a project vehicle over time.
Also, military vehicle ownership general.
>>30318466
what engine do you have picked out?
I don't know shit about BTRs but I do know a fair amount about cat motors so maybe I could help.
>>30318473
I don't have one picked out. I'm not entirely sure how much room I have to work with. The smaller the better. I'm not looking to go faster than maybe 60mph (if that's even feasible). The vehicle weighs ~12 tons. Stock, it has dual 90hp straight 6 engines out of UAZ trucks, but they are known for being complete dogshit.
>>30318483
I'd shoot for a cat 3116E.
200 horse straight 4 simple diesel engine.
just about the size of a standard US pallet.
much more power than stock and a damn good amount of torque.
parts are pretty abundant since they were standard in chevy kodiaks and gmc topkicks.
and as a bonus they only weight 1200 pounds.
if you can't get an E but can get a 3116, take it somewhere to get a turbo and intercooler put on it otherwise it will be an absolute pig.
This was buried underground for a long time.
Salvageable?
>>30318373
What, to shoot?
Nope.
>>30318373
gotta check the bore
>>30318373
maybe if you melt it down and make another gun out of it
I play this game called CSGO, and they added this update where when you fire a gun, and you're down to the last two or three bullets, a different sound comes. Like if the magazine was over.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6SPeDt9dhM
Does this happen in any gun in real life?
>>30318318
>Does this happen in any gun in real life?
What's it like being 12 years old?
>>30318318
nope
but magazines loaded with tracers towards the end/halfway are a thing
>>30318318
only the last bullet sounds different
but not as much on every type of gun
this is due to the bolt either getting caught by bolt hold open or due to the bolt hitting an empty chamber
Is this guy right? Should women avoid trying a choke and just carry gun/knife? why pushups? what do you guys suggest for women's self defense?
or is my friend just an asshole
>>30318079
>Hand to hand self defense
>When you can carry a gun
>>30318079
>Is this guy right?
Kinda. If a guy is stupid enough to try grappling / choking in a serious fight he's opening himself up to getting stabbed or having the attackers friends kick the shit out of him, let alone being outfought on the ground
A girl is going to get raped and murdered. In either order.
>>30318079
I don't know why you would deliberately engage in hand to hand combat except as a last resort. Women especially should be CCing if they fear getting attacked.
Every attack helicopter is welcome

>>30318057
Eventual form.
I like to believe the guys who fly these are crazier than the Kiowa pilots. They're basically flying an egg into combat.
Should I get an hk usp9 or should I get a sig p226 mk 25 or should I get an hk vp 9?
Thought or opinions on other useful wonder 9s?
>>30318035
USP 45
FNX 45 tac
>>30318052
Was also thinking about this.... should I get my gf the usp9 or the sig?
Getting two handguns and building my next two project ars
Is the Mosin Nagant truly the greatest Rifle?
>>30317915
No.
>>30317915
It's not even the greatest rifle of its era....or type.... or country.... or chambering.
That would be the M1 Garand.
Does anyone have any experience with the Glock 80% lower?
I'm thinking of putting one together for a weekend project.
Any other 80% frames I should get instead?
I guess 80% thread.
>>30317827
Do it just take your time with the rear rails, you have a lot more room for error while removing the excess material in the front.
>>30317827
I'm dying to do one of these but the price is too damn high atm. The panic + how new this is + glock parts and slide suppliers not expecting/being prepared for this influx of orders makes right now the wrong time imo. There will be a huge cost and a huge wait to get backordered high-demand parts.
There is a fucker on GB who is selling a whole g17 or g23 kit (all parts + 80% lower) for $800. That's about as annoying as .22lr scalpers. Fuck that shit
Why is this not a bigger deal to people? /ggg/ threads go pretty long with pics of guns made by raul in his garage in honduras with not explanation of how it works or how to replicate it but noone talks about this simple way to build an unserialized handgun. THIS is how we end gun control. People need to be more diy oriented or this world is going to keep getting more and more dependent, liberal and shitty.

Hey /k/, just got this new knife recently and was wanting your take on it. Is it a decent knife or shit tier? Also had some questions on sharpening it.
>>30317779

I can't find any information as to what computers the military was using during the 1990s. Do any of you guys know? Particularly anyone who was in the military during the 90's.
/vr/ would be a better place to ask this honestly.
there is no real answer either, tons of different brands and models. some commercial, some modified, some military specific.
what task specifically are you wondering about?
>>30317798
Well, I'm trying to mod a vintage military computer into a modern desktop as a sort of personal project. I guess I'm looking for a computer such that gutting the hardware wouldn't be a historical travesty.
Commercial would probably be best, although I would prefer something distinctly military.
>>30317770
I've seen some military tech demo vuds from early 90s/late 80s, and the PCs seen in some of those really do not differ much externally from the typical gray towers and tubes of the time. Dunno what kind of techthey had on the field, but the machine in your pic looks very much like the portable com center device we still had in 08
