/K/
I just traded in my S&W642 for a brand new S&W 686+ with a 3 inch barrel. $600 out the door (after the trade in).
I have been eye balling this gun for a while now and decided to pull the trigger (no pun intended)...how did I do?
>>30320091
This is what I traded...got $200 for it.
why would you accept $200 for a S&W snubby?....Especially on a trade in value.
Yeah, you got jewed on trade in value.
How often do you clean your guns, /k/?
>>30320078
1-2 times a year.
Not often.
>>30320078
looks like you didn't shoot your rifle very often, looks like new.
Augusta Maine Fags, any of you watching the micro-jet give an airshow? Bretty fun.
That's rad, it's so cute.
>lewis and Clark performance
Adorable!
Now, how can we weaponize it.

Statement:
Each platoon can now bring it's own CAS. At least to take out single strongholds (machine-gun nests, sniper positions ande the like).
How idiotic or wise is my statement.?

You'll find that man-portable UAV's have a very low payload, it could maybe drop a few grenades or some other explosives, but nothing significant.
The best thing about drones is their observational ability.

How about a downward facing claymore mine?
What would it take to set up a personal firing range in NC ?
Your first born and left testicle
>>30319621
A backhoe, a big back yard, some concrete and a few pallets of cinder blocks.
As long as you are not in the city limits and have significant amount of land to shoot on all you need is a good enough backstop. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the sheriff comes out for noise complaints if you have asshole neighbors. I usually showed them the range and back stops when they come out and let shoot my ump and they leave happy and tell the person that called to fuck off.
>Gets a 1911 9mm
Ahahaha
>implying 9mm 1911s aren't awesome
>implying jmb wouldn't have wanted it that way
Why is the 1911 so much more popular in America than the hi power, which is much, much more popular in other countries?

How would a nuclear war play out? For the sake of simplifying speculation, lets say it is between the US and USSR in October of 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis.
You always hear people say that we have the capacity to destroy ourselves many times over, but at some point one or both sides is going to lose the capability and/or will to keep launching nukes. When will that be though? Would the nukes keep coming until one side is completely leveled? Would they just nuke important targets with the intent to invade and occupy the opposing country? Would one or both sides lose the ability to effectively carry out a conventional war after the nukes and agree to an armistice or surrender? Would the superpowers fragment and cease aggression in favor of just moving on and making the best of things? How would smaller countries and countries with little strategic/economic value be affected by nuclear war?
Mutually Assured Destruction
>>30319541
The US had a major advantage over the Soviets in October 1962.
The US would have probably been hit but the USSR would have been destroyed.

Why are most handguns so damn problematic? I haven't been into guns long (maybe a couple years?), and I've bought prob 10 over that time. I swear to you the only ones that didn't have some issue were a Glock & a Sig. And these weren't shit brands I was buying, but Smith's, Kahr & the like.
So either I have extremely shitty bad luck, or there's way too many quality issues with firearms that get passed along as "just the way it is". I'd kinda expect of all things in this world that firearms are held to a way higher standard to, you know, actually work correctly.
So why are things this way?
What issues have you had with them? If you're inaccurate AF, then bench the gun, see that it is remarkably consistent and you just suck. If there are quality issues that actually hinder functionality, then send it to the manufacturer to address.
There is so little information in your post, I have no idea where to start.
>>30319514
Just a bunch of things. Failure to ejects, light strikes, doesn't like certain ammo brands, mag drops, etc. All scattered across all the guns I've had. It was always SOMETHING. To the point where I was coming to expect problems with every new gun purchase.
A nice handgun isn't the simplest machine...
It may seem simple when looking at it, but a shitload of engineering goes into every handgun you buy. These are relatively small pieces of technology with a lot of complex parts that are subject to a lot of force when in operation. Also consider that the fuel source that drives the whole operation can vary slightly from one loading to another, introducing more variables. It just comes down to good engineering & good manufacturing, some companies just do this better than others, period.
I agree with you though, my Sigs and Glock have all been unstoppable, as well as a S&W 686 I had.
Replace plastic tip with tungsten carbide.
What happens if it hits a level III plate?
Your accuracy will be all fucked.
The powder load is specificized for the bullet grain... unless tungsten carbide weighs the same as the plastic (which it doesn't in the quantity required)
You'll end up with a tumbling mass that might not hit the plate at all because the weight is all fucked
>>30319421
Tungsten is too far forwards. The bullet would be unbalanced
>>30319439
Powder charge can be altered later. Assume it bumps the mass up ~7gr

Can any anons give me the run down on West Germans Sigs and how they stack up to modern variants, specifically the P226?
I'm currently selling a complete 14.5" BCM upper with 9" DD rail and FDE MBUS irons and I've received an offer for pic related (will post the others the guy sent me below). I had the upper listed for $750 and wanted to get at least $700 for it, so do you anons think that's a fair trade or no? I have a Sig Sauer P226 Mk25 and I love it, so I wouldn't be opposed to adding another P226 to my collection as long as they're good quality.
tl;dr Are West German Sigs equal to or better than modern versions?
other side
and rollmark
I had one. Didn't like it. Sold it for 600 with 2 mags and no box.
I'm looking into the C308 or the c93 but I've heard really mixed reviews on the two. I've also held the two in person and the safety on the c308 literally fell out of the fucking gun.
>>30319190
Save the extra skrilla to get the PTR. I own a ptr, and held the century, the difference is astounding in just holding the two. Century is utter trash compared to the ptr
>>30319194
The C308 is assembled by PTR :).
>>30319221
That's not what he said. Buy century and learn from your mistake.
Can tanks be transported across the sea floor?
They're watertight, capable of taking large amounts of pressure due to it's armor, tracks can deal with most underwater obstacles. Just need to fit some small modifications to the engine.
>>30318998
No, they would get bogged down in the mud and other shit thats down there, the terrain is mountainous too.
>>30318998
The sea floor is literally nothing but mud and slime.
>>30319016
>>30319036
This
You'd need something that could deal with a few meters of mud
What is your EDC flashlight? For your firearm or for your pocket.
Personally I use a Surefire E2D Defender.
>>30318818
Bump
>dad is a cop
>he gets a new flashlight
>he gives me his old maglite
>fucking takes 4 d cells
>you could knock someone out with it easily
It's nice, but it's huge and gets stupid hot because of the old incandescent technology.
>>30318843
Maglites are great for home protection because of their shear size and material, but for EDC its way too big and bulky.
