How do you feel about using live ammo in movies /k/?
>>30322861
I think with the magic of compositing it could be a great way of adding a lot of realism to movies, without compromising the safety of the actors.
Unfortunately its expensive, and most environments are not places it can be done.
>>30322861
It's probably not safe
>>30322861
A bit of an unnecessary risk considering not every actor is Keanu Reeves and actually knows how to use a gun
In a shtf scenario what would be the most appropriate weapon platform for home/neighborhood defense? Considering that most houses are spaced very close to each other?
Lets say the main threat is armed bandits.
If only his cartoon had half the bantz of his twitter feed.
Anyways, AR-15 OP. Great for reaching out as needed (for neighborhood defense) and goes through house walls less than 9mm or buckshot unless you load it up with green tip.
>>30322880
>goes through house walls less than 9mm
did not know this, thanks anon!

Have a useful related link then: ar15.com/ammo/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/index.htm
It's odd but from what I've found, both the really light (like 40gr) and really heavy (70+ gr) rounds are most likely to tumble in drywall. Google it, there's some other interesting research out there about ARs being only beaten by birdshot for overpenetration concerns.
Is Omar Little not the best fictional nigger for operating with innastreets? If not, then who the fuck is?
> Experience with high-recoil weapons.
> Body armour.
> Notorious hood reputation.
> Personal code of ethics, sticks by his friends.
> Uses a double-barrel sawn-off frequently.
omar was a shitty operator he failed at attacking anyplace prepared to fight back. he was just good at catching people unaware.

The guy from Ghost Dog?
Dat lil nigga got nothing on Ghostdog aka lazy eye fat black
Why do countries with both a space program and a submarine fleet don't just send nuclear submarines to space ? You have a bonafide armored spaceship already designed, all it takes for one to win the arms race by putting a nuclear weapons platform in orbit would be to strap rocket boosters to the submarine and launch it.
Here's an illustration I made 4 you so that you can visualize this idea.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_Space_Treaty
Probably this. And the fact that submarines act in a high pressure environment, while spacecraft operate in an extremely low pressure environment. There's probably a few design differences.
>>30322547
>cant into physics
>lets take a vessel designed for intense pressure pushing inward, and put it in an environment devoid of nearly all pressure! Nothing bad could happen!
Sure is summer in here

the Principality of Zeon's R&D team is way ahead of ya m8
What did he mean by this?
I thought snipers were brave, cunning, skilled warriors but now I don't know WHAT to believe anymore.
>>30322526
FOrward it to Mark 'Manchild' Larue.
Im sure he will give him an earful on your part.
America came thousands of miles to invade Germany.

So, say I want a SCAR-17 without spending $3,000 for one and I have access to a machine shop for about 2 months. Would it be cheaper to build one from scratch, machine some of the parts, or buy one new and spend 3k?
>>30322515
buy one new
Do you think you're good enough to reproduce a SCAR in all metal that functions just as well as an officially produced one?
I'm not saying you can't, I'm just saying try to be mindful of whatever your level of ability is.
>>30322616
Absolutely not, I just wanted one that'd work for "muh cool factor" until I could afford one that was not made from online CNC schematics.
So my school just sent me paper work for senior portraits. I need some /k/ related senior quotes. Would like to go out as a total slavboo, but don't want to be ass raped for saying cyka blyat remove kebab or quoting stalin. Anything is good though.

Is 5.7 a meme caliber? It looks like a glorified 22 magnum. Give me a reason why it isn't shit.
>inb4: armor piercing
AP ammo is banned now

because armor piercing
Muh wound vectors
Muh tumbling
Muh capacity
Muh low recoil
Muh accuracy
That's pretty much all I've heard about it, just wait for Marisa to show up.
>>30322309
They're actually pretty cool guns. My friend has one and I like shooting his.
If they weren't so fucking overpriced I would actually pick one up myself. My LGS actually stocks reasonably priced 5.7 so it isn't even unobtanium
I don't have the energy or inclination to be a "gun enthusiast"
I just want something I can leave loaded in my nightstand forever in case some faggot ever breaks a window in the middle of the night. MAYBE take it to a range and put a box through it every couple of years if I feel like I'm forgetting which end the bullets come out of.
Now I've heard some shit that semi-automatic pistols will get fucked up springs if you just leave them loaded for an extended period of time? Like if I had a Glock or 1911 in a drawer, and didn't touch it again until the day I needed it in 2019, it might just go click.
Is that true? Should I just get a revolver for this job?
>>30322208
No it is fuddlore. But if you want something idiotproof because you don't want to train with it then get your pic related. Model 10 with 38sp lets old women kill nogs all of the time.
>>30322245
seconded. A revolver will work with a trigger pull every time with minimal or zero training.
But semis do not just stop working cause of worn out springs, that is not how that works.

Twelve gauge shotgun and an "NRA LIFE MEMBER" sticker on your car.
>Spend gorillions of dollars making new camo uniforms.
>Specifically make the uniforms without any black at all because science says it's a terrible camo color.
>Still use black rifles and don't allow GIs to paint them.
Why is this allowed?

Is this legit?
Lightning links? Yeah, they've been around for a while.
That specific 3D printer file/spec setup? No idea. It'd probably be easier just to make it by hand with some machining tools.
>>30322098
FYI, 3D printing one of these wouldn't be of any use for anything but an example model. You'd need to make it out of metal for it to be useful in any way, shape, or form.
>>30322122
>>30322151
But how exactly do they work? And how would I make them? Cutting shapes into metal like that and fitting them together?
Cross eye dominant here, how fucked am i?
>>30322000
stick to handguns maybe?
Retrain yourself, eye dominance is a learned behavior, wear an eye patch over your now dominant eye while watching TV and force yourself to shoot with your correct hand and off eye. It took me about two years of reflex training and shooting to become right eye dominant.
You can wear an eyepatch
I'm very new to reloading, and I'm a bit confused. I have been loading 9mm only recently, using 4.6gr of Hodgdon Titegroup with a 115gr Hornady XTP. Am I loading these way to high? They work fine in every 9mm i've fired them in, a Sig P320, Hi-Point C9, Walther PPS, HK VP9, and Glock 17.
Pic related, my handloads. (no tumbler as of now, just gonna have to use dirty brass)
>>30321998
Why not check your manuals?
>>30322012
Don't have any, i've been going off my own experience and the internet. Most of the reloading forums i've visited are dead.

Do AR-15's have to get banned before Ruger finally fucking makes the mini14 AR mag compatible?
>>30321948
>implying they won't ban AR-15 magazines, and any derivatives, specifically and by name
>>30321989
Point of the thread--------> .
You. <-------
>>30322028
Why would Ruger make the mini14 AR15 mag compatible if the mags get banned?
The government won't grandfather in any "high-capacity" magazines this time. It's all going to be 10 rounds maximum, and none of this ".50 Beowulf magazine" shenanigans.
