Why do modern nations with decent militaries use no tanks but MBTs?
In world war 2 there was a variety of different kinds of tanks. Armored warfare was very diverse.
However starting from the 50s it seemed like there could only be one kind of tank on the battlefield and that's the MBT.
Why is that? What killed the other kinds of tonk?

What is your definition of cheap?
I grabbed a Savage Axis with a bushnell scope for about 300. Filled the stock with steel BBs to add weight, and put a vortex scope on it for about 169. Also, got the sear ground out and trigger adjusted to about 3 pounds so there is no creap. Overall, spent about 500 making it my rifle and it shoots damn accurate.
Another good option for budget bolt actions, is the Ruger american. I have seen a few combo deals for a ruger american predator with scope for $500. The American feels like a better rifle when I grabbed it. Haven't shot it but heard nothing but good reviews.

so somewhat poorfag herdhere. took a chance and bought a siga ak47 it's pretty used and came with a scope, rail, 3mags and the hardcase for 500$ did I do good or not? I plan to upgrade parts and repaint it and take it to a GS for inspection will post pics later also pic unrelated

The old Deltas beat themselves up pretty hard if you were using a heavier 10mm loading. American Rifleman had a column about the new P220 in 10mm that specifically referenced the author having a Delta that jettisoned its slide midway through a long day at the range.
Maybe Colt's taken advantage of improved metallurgical techniques or some other fuckery over the last 30 years, so who knows.

So with all these 80 lowers out there I'm curious has anyone read or heard anything about casting one? I was thinking maybe buying an 80 lower that has been casted then coating it in a few layers of wax to create the mold. I would use the trial an error method to get the right size and when I do I would make a more permanent mold that I could reuse over and over.

the clark county commission just voted to adopt a califorania-style handgun roster. Anyone with off-list guns will have to pay a $50 tax every five years, which will use the new state database instead of the old blue cards. I'm on the hook for $500 in taxes as a result.
