Obviously Afghans aren't Arabs, but I saved this comment a while ago from a veteran (it's not me so don't bother asking questions):
>Afghan vet here (Although I think this looks like Iraq) I truly wish that after my time in that country that I understood them enough to explain. Their culture, society, everything about this place is so backwards that there truly is no comparison to the Western world. And I don't mean backwards as in we're right and they're wrong. I mean polar opposite. I've seen soldiers shoot eachother because one raped the other and had to get his honor back. I've seen a soldier rip IED after IED out of the ground without anything happening to him, but then another soldier does the same thing and is blown to smithereens. I've been an embedded trainer with them and time after time we teach them how to aim and fire their rifles and mortars. EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. they ignore what they're taught. And this isn't they are so overwhelmed by the combat that they can't function. This is them declaring that aiming does nothing, Allah will guide the bullets. Mortars don't kill people it is to be fired in their direction to scare them off and if Allah wills it they will die. I've seen an Afghan soldier fall off the back of a truck wearing a backpack full of rockets that explodes and kills everyone. Life is cheap to them in this part of the world. I don't know if it's apathy from decades of war, religious zeal, or if they are so uneducated that they are just really really dumb. I have had my mind blown by such dumb shit so much that this video doesn't even register to me as anything but just another Tuesday.

God damn, they didn't even try to use the main gun on the tank. I get that the VBIED was probably armored and shrugging off the small arms, but the 100mm or 125mm gun on the tank is kind of designed to deal with armored targets.
I thought it was bad enough watching the SAA lose tanks by leaving them parked or in alleyways for ATGMs, but this is even stupider.

Alright /k/
so I was reading an issue of Firearms News when i came upon an article titled "Pour A 100% complete AR Lower", and basically this company called ar15mold is selling these kits for you to mold an ar15 lower out of a polymer resin. It requires no mechanical skill and the most basic kit comes with enough resin for 5 lowers (the author of the article said you can easily get 6 out of it with some leftovers) and this mold with a bunch of small pieces to form the holes and make the lower to the correct dimensions. They also have these mettle brackets that you put in the rear of the receiver to withstand the constant recoil of the rifle. Price on their sight is about $340 for the most basic option. If you do get 6 receivers out of this, that would mean each one costs you about 56 dollars and you can still use the mold to make as many as you want.

Would you buy this/ should i buy this? watched a couple of vids and the lowers seem pretty solid. the polymer is made to flex under extreme weights and stress to keep it from breaking, so they aren't "flimsy".

i saw this kit posted here on /k/ a few months ago. really neat concept. i want to be able to buy enough for one lower, not 6. at that price, its too much for an untested novelty item.

Sounds like I just figured out the new family game for Christmas.

i get where you're coming from. How many lowers do you need exactly?

First post, best post.

I recently picked up my first pistol based off of recommendations I got from /k/ommandos and I'm in love, pic related.

In honor of the gun grabbers getting btfo I want to get new funs but im not sure what to get, the biggest issue is budget.

I'm most interested in a:
Mosin
sks
AR
AK

Also post pics of your very first funs.

whats your budget? a makrov might be a fiscally good buy. neat pistol with some history and you already shoot 9mak.
mosin is still affordable but many will call it out as overpriced, considering its doubled in price over the last year or so.
if you like the sks, its a good rifle. just buy ammo, no need for mags.
its a buyers market for AR parts if you want to assemble your own. as election time draws nearer, some parts will be harder to find. accurate and handy rifle. you can assemble a barebones one for around $500, give or take $50.
Aks are out of your price bracket im thinking. $650 is about the minimum for an Ak pattern rifle right now.

How much would it cost today to have a practical, intricate, and custom fitted suit of armor made for you?

On the low end, $2-3 grand. Goes up from there.
>>
>>30349408
that seems really cheap
>>
>>30349408
That's about right. If you don't mind the pieces not fitting one hundred percent perfect or matching. You can buy posts here and there on ebay, kult of Athena, etc for cheaper than a whole suit. My friend did it for a little less than 2000. He has full plate, chain mail, and a gambeson, minus the back plate though.

Do you think it's reasonable to say that aside from the Garand and 1911, the US small arms of WW2 were quite mediocre?
165 posts and 21 images submitted.
>>
Almost every American combatant had a semi-automatic, so I'd say that they were far ahead of the average foot soldier of the Axis.
>>
>>30349179
The M1 carbine was ahead of it's time. The M3 was a great submachine gun.

The BAR worked, although I will agree that it was considerably outdated by WWII.
>>
>>30349179
They were excellent for the time.

They did their job reliably.

Today they would be heavily ineffective.

Except the M3 and 1911, cause reasons.

I'm looking for a field manual or something similar that talks about clearing buildings, only without throwing a grenade through every door.

I have the AR/K/, but there is so much inside it, it's difficult to find exactly what I'm looking for. Inside it, I've found manuals on mechanized companies, urban full scale warfare, marine raids, etc.

But I'm looking for something that talks about clearing a house with a gun, like what cops would do. Does anybody know where that is in the AR/K/, or somewhere else?

mind sharing those 3d printable gun files with me?
>>
You can clear a building without grenades but it would come with much higher casualties. The tactics are the same you just dont throw the nade in first. You can do a one mag burst into the room before entering. But otherwise there is no difference
>>
>>30349156
Set it on fire and wait outside.

It's been working well for law enforcement and the government agencies so far.

So I picked this up over the weekend, and added these wood grips.

The wood is really nice, and it has the S&W emblem embedded on one side. The only things is, Im starting to think the handle looks a little big for the gun. I may opt to go with some boot grips and return these....

your thoughts?

Another pic...Im just afraid if I go with boot grips, firing magnum rounds is not going to be fun. This grip is solid, and if FL was an open carry state, I would keep these grips for sure.
