Unpopular /k/ opinions. I'll start. I dislike .22 and the only reason I have one is because squirrels in my yard.

I pretty much never shoot .22 anymore unless it's at a steel challege.

Pretty much the only things I shoot anymore are my Glocks, AR's, or Benelli. Most of those when I shoot USPSA or 3 Gun, or at my work range.

I bought into the class ring hype and spent $800 on a rat instead of getting a handgun I had promised myself as a grad gift since I was a freshman.

So... confession time?

Hello /k/. I wanted to get some advice.

So, I bought an AR-15 on consignment a few years ago for $500. It was hodgepodge of random parts that turned out to be a pretty good varmint rifle that's accurate enough for me.

However, a buddy of mine showed me the .50 Beowulf upper kits and I'm really liking the idea of having a larger caliber while still retaining the option of using my current mags and even swap receivers for whatever I want to shoot on that particular day.

Anyone have a good source for a reasonably priced .50 Beowulf upper kit? I found a kit on Alexander Arms for under $700, that doesn't really offer much, but at least I can get into it.

Also, ITT: Post .50 Beowulf related stuffs.

If you plan on obliterating engine blocks at 50-200 meters, then it's perfect for you.

Otherwise, you have a short range AR-15 that's super fucking expensive to shoot.

I ain't gonna tell you how to live your live tho.
>>
Just shoot really, really slowly while training
>>
>>30357312
I was thinking of hunting bigger game, and I like the idea of also being able to one-shot-stop both a bear and an engine block for around a dollar per round

The NRA does not fight for your rights, they fight for corporations. Also, they lobby for the second amendment, not the fifth or fourteenth.
>>
>>30356595
Then why fight the Feinstein bill? It's accomplishes the same thing and breaches due process too.
>>
>>30356563
It was due process by comparison to no due process, not due process in reality.

I've seen it compared to the FISA courts, which were also blatantly not due process.

Currently using the "tactical" version as my bug out rifle. The newer ones have heavier barrels which make them a lot more accurate IMO

Is there another gas piston rifle that shoots 5.56 NATO that I should consider?

If they stayed at 450-500. they'd be a nice semi auto usually ban safe .223/5.56 rifle.

but since they're never below 700, they do nothing over even a budget AR. and even include shitty pencil barrels that can't hit shit.

That said,my dad loves the shit out of his.

pepper spray and a knife, with a gun you might manage to shoot one or two before they scatter then they'll go get medical attention. with a knife you have a shot at killing a few.

In the navy you see about 70% of the Earth. The water.
In the Air force you see the stuff that's above the clouds.
In the Army you see the walls of a barrack, maybe some shithole in the middle east.

I don't know shit about marines.

They are, thats my concern. A buddy of mine has access to a metal shop with stamping equipment so it could be 'feasible' to stamp new mags given I let him hang on to the one it came with. If thats a no go then you can convert Yugos, Weigars, and Bugly wafflemags.

Hello /k/omrades, no funs (at least not yet) yurofag here. We can't carry any kind of weapons or knives here, so I was thinking about buying a tactical pen for self defence. I know they're kinda illegal too but a pocket pen doesn't draw any attention.
I also know they aren't very viable as weapons, but it's better than nothing, and fits in pocket so I can take it with me anywhere.
>I was thinking about buying pic related, does someone have some kind of experience on what are good/bad?

those pens are huge. That picture makes them look like a regular sized pen but they are about 3x the size. Painfully obvious its a "weapon pen"

just buy a gun. We always have euro's on this website reminding us silly westerners they can own guns and that our country sucks

Not him but fellow tactical pen fag here
There is a considerable size and apperance difference between a "tactical pen" and a regular pen.
If you try to take it through a security checkpoint and write it off (heh) as a pen, you wont make it. But if you carry it in a bag with like 6 other pens, you might be okay.
They make some that don't look too radically different, but those are just pretty much regular pens made out of space-grade material.
Frankly, I own one because of the glassbreaker on the cap, and because having a larger heavier pen helps me to not forget it as easily. I doubt it would hurt that much more than a regular pen but it looks spooky scary and practically has a shoulder thing that goes up, so its got that going for it.

Shit would have to be extremely fucky to validate using that in any defense scenario.
