I don't know shit about guns, so naturally this is the first place I come to for advice.

I recently moved to Nevada, and I was thinking about getting the Savage 11 Scout. I've done a tiny amount of research on it, as well as others. But I'd like to your opinions on the subject of a "first gun".

First gun, especially if you've never fired one, should ALWAYS be a bolt action .22lr. Always. Learn fundamentals, then move up to larger calibers when you actually have thw skill to use them to their full potential. Dont be that faggot that only ever shoots cans at 10 yards with your 800 dollar scout rifle.
>>
>>30390636
It's not really going to matter what your first gun will be, unless you maybe plan to hunt with it.

You could afford more ammo if you got a rifle chambered in .223/5.56 like the Mini 14, AR-15, Remington 700, etc.

I learned to shoot on a M44 mosin when I was 8.

Try not being a puss?

That aside, I maintain the best gun to learn to shoot on currently is a bolt or lever action 38spc/357mag.

I love how it feels and fires and strongly considering it for my next pistol.

Thanks for ruining my favourite shows for me, Schumer, you talentless hack.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/amy-schumer-releases-gun-violence-sketch-in-wake-of-orlando-shooting/ar-AAhxEnq?ocid=spartanntp

For those who don't want to click. It's not on Youtube, so MSN is the least biased source I could find.

>"comedy" sketch up Amy Schumer's TV show
>H. Jon Benjamin playing a lawyer telling victims of shootings to don't bother calling him, since they have no recourse to sue gun manufacturers
>typical crying about the PLCAA, comparing suing gun manufacturers to suing other companies for actual acts of negligence
>literally 0% comedy, 100% political horsefuckery

Genuine question or retard?

Best triggers for Glocks?
>dad got glock 17 for his birthday and we go shooting together
>both find the stock 6lb trigger annoying and shitty
>Live in San Diego home of The Glock Store
>they sell and install the Pyramid Trigger & dad wants to get it

Is it good and is there anything better for a similar price?

Let's say an A-10 in the 1970s face a few T-64's or T-72's and use its gun to engage them(because of doctrine)

What would be the outcome?

Explain your reasoning

High attrition rate, questionable efficiency / effectiveness.

Inability to penetrate T-62s and up from the front AT ALL and most of the sides means difficult engagements that can't be done from the GAU-8's maximum range.

Engaging with the gun even at maximum range puts them in hatefucking range of prolific Russian SPAAGs and mobile AA, which they love using.

Checked, also why would they bother destroying them? Aren't Russians smarter knowing the guns have value? Can be sold to neighbor countries or ME nations for importing here and profit. Hoping Century convinces some official to trade stash to Romania then importing that shit here again.

357 uses slow burning powders so a 2" snub gives worse ballistics in 357 than .40 but twice the recoil due to excessive powder that does nothing
>>
>>30390970
So why does anyone still use it?

Can you just buy and or handload a less shit powder?

Do you share your guns at the range?

Recently got my wife into shooting which is great. And what's mine is hers when it comes to my funs. But now she wants to bring her friends to the range with us to play with our toys. Something about that makes me uncomfortable. Obviously lots of expensive hardware that I keep not only for fun but for self-defense if the need ever arises.

Is it weird to tell her not to invite people under the premise of using my guns?

Do true /k/ommados share with anybody?

>>
Of course I share guns at the range -- provided the other person knows what they're doing.

Have her only invite a few people -- like one at a time, to join you at the range, so you can make sure that they follow the range rules, you can make sure they're not going to scope-bite themselves, control their brass, etc. and have a general good time.

Too many nogunz at the range and you're not going to have fun, they're not going to have fun, and shit can get dangerous
>>
>>30390006
Well, besides it costing a shitton of money to let everybody shoot a couople times
>her friends
>her

Be careful with that. My gf's have personally never ever had non-retarded friends, but obviously I don't know about your wife.
>>
I don't like to. I dislike when the range staff demands that you let them shoot them. Unprofessional.

I have two pic-related cartridge belts, 25 and 56 shell bandoliers, and an ALICE kit for other gear and M1a mags. I'm looking at adding a 357 revolver and an arming sword to the getup, but the sheer number of straps getting involved is making me look like some cheesy animu wannabe, not to mention it can't be good to have so many hangup points in the field. So, /k/, how do I cut down without loosing accessibility or capacity?

I could put a bayonet on the M1A, but transitioning from the 870, whose bullpup frame won't allow a lug mount, is a complication and at the point that I should rely on a Ka-bar out of the sheath something just feels wrong but I can't put my finger on it. I've got too much shit and can't decide on what needs to go.

Does anyone use their guns to protect against paranormal threats?

Like if you suspect poltergeist or ghost activity in your house do you walk around armed? I've had things knocked off of shelves recently with no explanation, now I walk around prepared to mag dump into any apparition. Or if the demon is too strong I'll just off myself with a shot to the head.

I'm pretty sure the latter option is the only way a gun will come in handy in that sort of situation. Burn some sage and line the entryways to the rooms of your house with white ash (from the white ash tree, not just ash that happens to be white). If that doesn't work call up a medicine man or some shit.

Throw in a black powder revolver, bullet mold and some scrap silver.

Bit of a random one but hear me out, I'm moving into a flat soon and want to be able to physically modify rooms to store knives (no guns 4 me unfortunately). What I mean is to have them hidden in furniture, walls, doors etc for easy access in case a cheeky mofo wants to turn up uninvited- any ideas, pics, diagrams, info? Much obliged

You can always go to a thrift store, look at the books, find a nice thck big one, cut out some of the middle pages into aa pocket and store a knife in it.
You can make a false bottom in a desk drawer.
Use a razor, cut out a section of wall behind a couch, use rare earth magnets to hold it in place.
You are pretty much limited by your imagination when making hiding spots.
