>>30391750
Yeah, and why don't you just go buy a glock instead of a Desert Eagle?
>>30391759
There more closterester than that
Hey all, I'm going to be getting into the market to buy my first hand gun and j was looking for some suggestions and advise. I'm looking in the $300-$400 range but can go a little higher if need be. I was thinging about a Smith and Wesson SD9VE because I had the chance to test fire one a few days ago. Felt good in the hands and all but that trigger pull is a mile long. Any ideas?

youre welcome
Forgot to add that it'll be for home defense and plenty or range time. Can't carry in my state.
>>30391716
Seems a little too small to me.
>>30391753
Either some glock or my favorite XD service. I won't shill for one of the other both are excellent choices. Alternatively police trade P226

Haven't seen one of these in a while. Let's get a good ol' sight picture thread going.
Bonus points for pics taken at approximately the same distance as proper eye relief so the sight picture looks proportionally correct.

A couple of years ago I went, "Fuck it, I'm buying an old sword." and went to all of the nearby antique stores. None of them had anything, but one of the better stores took my number and told me they'll call me if they get anything in. Today I finally got a call, they got in two swords from the 1800s. One was a Masonic Cerimonial sword, boring and bad condition, but they also had a "1800s combat sword", which was far more interesting. So I took some pictures, asked them to hold it for me, and now I'm here, hoping you guys can tell me something about it.

What military?
Did I do good /k/?
Gonna take it out for a spin later. Just target rounds for now.

PX4 is bretty gud if you like DA/SA and decocker safeties.
It's one of LifeSizePotato's favourite 9mm pistols if that means anything
2 3/4", 3", or 3.5"?
Should I even bother looking at 2 3/4" 12 Ga. shotguns?
>>30391204
it's very rare that you even need 3" shells. 2 3/4" should be examined carefully just because that means the shells are old, but practically there's very little reason for them.
>>30391204
what are the pros of shorter shells?
bigger is better right?

If push came to shove, how well would modern artillery fare in direct-fire Soviet style?
Would a Paladin make a decent tank destroyer at close range?
>>30391012
Not very effective. Sure, the rounds are heavy enough to take out practically any sort of armor but you wouldn't be able to train your gun fast enough. If you get outflanked, you're dead.
>>30391354
I gather it's a lot harder to traverse and elevate a paladin's gun than say a STUG III?
>>30391354
Any doctorine that's going to use Tank Destroyers (or in this case, an artillery piece filling in for a TD) is probably going to be pretty heavy on setting up ambushes, and fast withdrawals. What's that one nordic fixed gun vehicle that can go fast as fuck and was basically designed to do hit and run attacks?

Hey folks, I've been saving up my money for either a NY compliant Saiga or AR. I don't plan on staying in NY (State, not city) for much more than another year or two but I still want another rifle for my collection soon.
The reason I'm leaning Saiga over AR is because compliant ones don't look like aborted abominations cobbled together, but I could be swayed one way or another.
I've been using my google-fu but alas every place I check seems to be sold out. Is it just because of Orlando and Dems throwing hissy fits? What's a good price I should be looking at that isn't inflated due to panic buyers? And lastly where can I fricking get one. More looking at actual dealers than Armslist.
Additional info, I already have an SKS but want something with detachable mags and has the potential to be unfucked with parts from other states when I leave.
>>30390914
Got mine on a military base for 500$ and I was the last 7.62 my base will ever be allowed to sell. Feels bad but good that I got her.
>>30391079
Saigas are under import ban iirc so they are harder and harder to find
Might want to look into Ares SCR
So it is babby's first AR build and im looking for some information on how i should go about building my first AR-15. I really like Magpul's A E T H S E T I C and would love to build an AR that looks like pic. I have a budget of $900.
What manufacturers should I go to/stay away from for parts?
Reputable dealers/sites to buy parts from?
Please help a wanna be /k/ommando out
>>30390833
its quite possible to build that for 900 if you are willing to give up on that specific rail and flashider
if you do want those parts thats like 500 bucks for 2 parts
>>30390877
I think i can do without that specific flash hider and rail.
What would be some acceptable substitutions?
>>30390833
To to /arg/ they are pretty helpful when they aren't jerking each other off
general RPR thread
So, I came across a ruger precision rifle at my LGS, and its going for $1,199, and i want this fucking thing, since i havent been able to find one anywhere else. They sold out of .308 rifles, but had .243 and 6.5 creedmoar RPRs.
I just wanted 6.5 creedmoar anyway, but my question for you guys is $1,199 a good price for one of these? new of course.
>>30390826
got mine in 6.5
Price is decent, i got mine for a bit less, but if you can afford it get it.
Make sure you have money for scope though....
>>30390826
It's 200 less than MSRP, go for it
1199 is good for a 6.5 RPR
