As someone not well read enough, did something happen to honor? Especially amongst soldiers? Has the crests, and elite markings and ornamentation of weapons as tokens or bravery and strength end? Has the fancy uniforms(capes, epaulets, sabers) all but disappeared?
Was it the advent of modern firearms(polymer, being commodities rather than weapons)?
Was it the Vietnam War when people disrespected returning soldiers?
Being a soldier today doesn't feel as though it's honorable as warriors of the past and I don't know if it's just misinformed nostalgia or if they were truly bigger people
Is there a warrior culture that is missing today? Could it maybe be part of why suicide rates of ex soldiers are so high? No sense of Duty or higher purpose, or a sense of honor in the work they are doing?

chivalry died at agincourt

I know it sounds Fedora asking this question. But I am serious. I feel like soldiers are treated more as mercenaries rather than warriors if that makes sense
prove me wrong

F-4 wouldn't be X-wing because it just doesn't have the agility to dogfight. You do energy tricks and launch missiles from range. It's closer to the B-wing, X-wing is either F-14 or F-15.
>>30555503
X-Wing would be F-16 then faggit
the X wing was the P51 Mustang and the TIE fighter was the Mitsubishi Zero
Post the best ar 15 pics you can find. I'll start

The grand power is a cool gun with a terrible name.

Is a shotgun really the best home defense gun?
I want something that is goin to drop a motherfucker. As you can see in the pic this DINDU NUFFIN gentleman was shot with a .45 in the back of the head and he's just playing ps4 in bed like nothing.
>>30555153
No.

The head is just a mass, and has some sensory organs. the brain and heart are in the chest behind the breast plate. Shoot em in the chest.

Hey guys, I was thinking of making a ballistic plate, I was thinking maybe using 3/8 inch thick steel(mild), then hardening it after I cut it out, then use some Kevlar for Spalding, would that work?
Costing in hard rubber might be better protection against Spaulding
>>30555095
Shameless self bump. (Not mine)
>>30555252
Maybe a mix of the two?
>Kevlar over the rubber so Kevlar can be replaced every couple of years
>also to absorb some impact before it hits the plate
>what can be used for a trauma pad?
Just spitballing here, but how does a clip loaded pistol caliber (I'm thinking about .357, .45 LC and .44 mag) carbine sound? Sort of like if a garand, sub 2000 and a mares leg fucked and had a kid
>>30555037
Like a worse idea than buying Desert Eagle mags for a .357 or .44 Mag carbine.

Yo weapons Normie here I was wondering if its possible or plausible to make bullets from cheep, more common metals than lead such as copper, tin, aluminum, etc.
>>30555007
They already make solid copper bullets for hunting in CA but they're in no way cheaper
>>30555007
>cheep, more common metals than lead
>copper, tin, aluminum
>>30555007
they do make bullets from other materials but lead is probably the most perfect material to make bullets out of since the concept of firearms was born
Can we get a redguards with guns thread going pls? Here is a classic to get it started
>>30555068

>theyre also quite heavy as far as 5 round wheelguns go
Something I quite appreciate in a .357. OP, I wouldn't feel at all underarmed lugging that piece around.
Sup /k/ommandos
Which 1911 is better? The Kimber stainless target ii or the Springfield Armory loaded 1911. My buddy is selling his loaded 1911 with a wilson combat barrel with about 5000 rounds through it and extended slide and mag release. I can get either for $1000. What do /k/?
>>30554429

Kimbers are pretty bad. I get a Rock Island 1911 instead and compare that to SpringField.
Between those two?
Springfield, not even a contest. At least you can still hold your head up at the range.
That being said, get a Colt.
>>30554429
I really don't get /k/ thing against Kimber.
Had a Kimber Custom II for a little while now, only put around 500 through it. Only one FTF, I will admit it was the cherry shot.
Alright /k/ I have a question, if you load the wad and cork and and put the pellets OK the top, why the fog horn open on a blunderbuss, I'm new to them and am getting one soon, any advice?
>>30554390
funnel so you can pour gravel and shit in when you run out of lead.
>>30554390
Funnel to pee into, to neutralize corrosive barrel fouling.
>>30554574
Seriously gravel? That's got to fucking suck to be on the receiving end even if it doesn't kill you now you've got jagged rocks in you that have to be removed.
This is horrifying.
There were other options. If the police can use a robot to deploy a bomb, they can use a robot to deploy some kind of toxic gas to knock out the shooter and retrieve him safely, without killing him, so he can be brought to justice.
>>30554028
But he was brought to justice.
>>30554028
>knock him out without killing him
you know why Anesthesiologists make so much fucking money? its really, really fucking hard to knock someone out without killing them
>see moscow theatre hostage situation
They killed like, 180 citizens with fentanyl gas
cmon man
>>30554046
you disgusting piece of shit
do you think the robot ABSOLUTELY HAD TO LOSE ITS LIFE TO KILL SOME DERANGED ANIMAL!!
that robot was a vet too god dammit
who wants to make a kick starter for a monument to that robot atop a pile of dead dindus?
Just bought a Sig P238. Tiny guns thread.
>>30553791
I have one too.
My lady and I rented one at the range today trying to find her a carry gun. We both enjoyed it greatly. Best feeling and straight shooting .380 I've shot. Range rental was a decently used sport 12 version.
I'm planning on making my first AR-15 build a retro build. Any reccomendations on parts kits or places to get parts(Was already looking at Nodak Spud)? I'm also going to a local gun show this Sunday and will be looking at parts there. I don't care 100% about historical accuracy but I am aiming to specifically have
>Fixed A1 carry handle
>A1 handguards
>A1 stock
Anything else can really be anything. Any advice?

I got my parts hit from these guys, added a basic Anderson stripped lower and bought a 20" 1:9 pencil barrel off of another /k/ tripfag.

Recently tossed on a Chinese optic, which I haven't had the opportunity to test yet so we'll have to wait and see if it holds up. Rifle itself is quite excellent.
I got my whole furniture set from us core replicas for about 90 bucks, a1 upper from brownells
Midwest NuggetFest will most likely be in October though I have not decided on a State yet. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, we will not be using the same location as the last Midwest NuggetFest. So you guys get to put in your 2 cents on where you want the next Midwest event. I can't guarantee it'll be in the chosen state but it helps give an idea which area the majority of the interest is at. Vote below.

Also, Arkadia Ranch is still going down next month. I'm open to suggestions for events. Currently planning, several shooting competitions like speed, distance, skeet/trap, and even archery, because why not.
If you guys have ideas for events share them. Hell, I might even put in a baseball field because there's plenty of room.
>>30553570
That's too bad; BD and his dad are based af. Looking forward to it, wherever it may be.
