Why hasn't anybody made a DSLR like scope?
You would see exactly what you are aiming.
It should have a mirror that lifts before the bullet passes through the barrel.
And what is stopping carbon buildup or the massive preasure from wrecking this mirror?
Can those super tighty tolerance lenses even handle recoil and shock?
Because the optic offset is so far down the list of things that affect accuracy, it's a waste of time, energy and money to "fix."
This is like saying why not make race cars faster by replacing weak plastic tire valve covers with CNC machined titanium ones.

Because that's not how ballistic trajectory works.
/k/ why do SWAT officers wear masks?
They look like they're ready to seriously rob a bank.
To protect their identity from criminals.
These guys have families.
>source: My dad was NZ armed offenders squad.
>>30562559
then why do they wear gloves? is it to not leave any fingerprints?
>>30562559
>this
If you're going against organized criminals, you want to lower the threat of retaliation as much as possible.
>>30562569
Why do construction workers, and drivers wear gloves?
Is it better that the AR15 and other rivals?
>>30562490

Well it's certainly been proven in a high-pressure situation recently. The Armagaydon shooter used one.

How the fuck do you use a front peep sight? I can't hit shit with them at 50 yards on a 22 target gun.
Do you need inserts for them to work?
>>30562412
yes
>>30562412
You mean a globe sight? There's supposed to be an insert or some sort of inner part, yes.
To use them you look through the rear peep then line up the front housing and the inner ring to look like concentric circles. Your target should be in the center of the smallest circle.
>>30562412
should have a peep rear sight as well. you make the two rings concentric, put bulls eye in the center. should be a post or cross hairs in the center of the front sight, but I've seen them with out also.
First time on /k/ so I thought I'd ask a simple question: is the usp a good gun to own in general or what?

Whatever you're planning on doing, you're probably gonna end up shooting your eye out.
So I'm taking an economics class and we were going over a 'supply and demand' concept. Basically the way I understand it, the more people want something, the higher the price goes, until more of that thing is made and sold, and then the price falls. It's a strict law of nature that if less people want something the price will go down, and if more people want something the price goes up.
I'm thinking about it, and I'm thinking this could be applied to the new gun market. Everyone bitches that new guns undergo horrible loss in value when you buy them, right? A 3k gun could turn into a 2k gun the second it leaves the dealer's hands. That's a huge amount of money just totally vanished and removed from the economy forever, and it's the reason why it's a better idea to always buy used.
What if everyone collectively decided to not buy new guns for a few months? By law the price of new guns will go down, and eventually it'll get to the point where a new gun could be at the price of a used gun, and at that point everyone could just buy the new guns at used prices and avoid the depreciation hit. This way, everyone saves some money and it's not removed from the economy. Any thoughts?
>>30561536
But the 1k don't disappear, they wander just in the pocket of the dealer or gunsmith. Only 1k of value is lost.
>>30561536
>Everyone bitches that new guns undergo horrible loss in value when you buy them, right
Literally who. Guns lose very little of their value, and even wear and tear have little impact because the function is typically unaffected. It's easy as fuck to sell guns second hand at or near retail price unless something is distinctly wrong with it. And plenty of people are willing to buy good condition second hand guns near retail price because it avoids shipping, transfers, or tax while getting a near identical product.
Gun manufactures could handle that hit but retailers couldn't, so the prices wouldn't go down you would just fuck the private sector.

bump
Do we really need these thread everyday?
It's hardly weapons-related, especially with what these threads turn into. Yes attack dogs might technically count as weapons, but most of what's here is just pics of people's pets maybe next to guns if you're lucky.
I have nothing against animals, but it's always the same people circlejerking with the same pictures and posts.
If you want to talk about pets, there's a whole board dedicated to just that:

Why do we never hear anything about the Leclerc?
>memelerc
>>30561117
You could find literally anything about Lecrec (except the armor composition, and even then it's being discussed fairly extensively) if you know french
The same goes to russian or chinese military equipment too. If you can read cyrillic or chinese, there are tons of literature out there
>>30561246
This, if it is not used by English speaking countries then good luck finding shit.
hey /k/omrads. Im at a gun show right now and found a mosin in an archangel stock for 250$ is it worth?
Its a CAI M53, so im hesitant
No. Mosins are $100 guns. They're crap. Better off paying $350 for a used 30-06 that can group better than 10 moa.
>>30561228
Not the OP, but i went to a gun show today in Iowa and I saw maybe 30-40 mosins.
About 5 of them were under $200.
I own a couple already but I thought maybe with that stock I could justify another 100$.
Hello. I am a Canadian who got a job offer as an infantryman yesterday.
Is it a good time to join the CAF? I've heard it's 3 months basic, then you go on that wait thing until your trade training begins which for infantry is 3-4 months in Petawawa/Gagetown and that's where you spend your time.
Can someone explain what the day to day life is like in the infantry? How easy is it to sign up and go on courses like recon, pathfinder, etc? I've been shooting guns my whole life and would consider that my strong suit. I scored very high on testing but failed to get into intelligence operator (they hire 8-10 people annually).
What can I expect?
Wondering the same but for canadian tankers.
Fuck /meg/.

Projectile Protection/Protection are disabled, you can craft iron armor put not diamond armor.
Sharpness/Power/Infinity/Flame are disabled, you can craft iron swords but not diamond sword.
It is recommended to use guns for PvP rather than swords/bows
When you spawn you will have the option to choose from 4 different warps, each one will teleport you to a random location around that choosen location.
The locations to choose from are either europe, americas, asia or africa. This will cut down some of the usual travel time from spawning for the first time.

How do you win against asymmetrical warfare? Vietnam, Iraq and so on have shown that asymmetrical warfare is better tactic than actually fighting a ground war.
>>30559844
Genocide the entire population. This is the conclusion I've come to.
>>30559859
I was thinking WW2 tactics and level the entire place to the ground but it seems I'm not the only one.
>>30559844
by taking away the will to fight from the enemy and granting the local neutral or allied parties the power to identify and respond to guerrilla forces.
theoretically people would be less prone to wanting you dead if your the only reason they have food water and electricity.
the problem is winning those "hearts and minds" and fighting through the cultural quagmire of different thought processes.
honestly even if it was a gigantic money sink the US could have left afghanistan and iraq in much better shape had we been given more time. unfortunately time and money are very finite and patience doubly so
