What does /k/ think of being a violent nomad? Do y'all think it could be a (possible) way to make a living?
I haven't finished the book quite yet, but since the very beginning I have been wondering if it would be possible to make money and help the different communities become safer.
What does k think? Would a "violent nomad" be a /k/ tier/related "job"?
Just wondering everyone else's thoughts on the matter.
>>30598686
You're going to get gunned down real quick.
CCers are a wonderful breed.
Also I have no idea what a violent nomad is.
The book as a whole isn't awful, but the "violent nomad" thing is some grade-A special snowflake meme bullshit.
>>30598699
A "violent nomad" (from what I gather thus far) isn't a person randomly just capping people. They use espionage techniques to make neighborhoods safer. Sometimes resort to killing bad guys (drug dealers/rapist/child molesters/etc) but essentially travel around to help make the country safer through espionage tactics.
I'm not saying I am going to do this. I am just wondering what y'all think about it. I will find a link to the VN explanation for you. If I can't find a link I will post some pics from the book. (the one in OP pic).
Also, I was a recon team platoon sergeant in the Army. Then went into the Navy and was attached to a Special Boat Unit. Also have been through modern combative training (up to black instructor level). Was also the DM on my recon team. Was a combat medic. Along with many other certs from .gov. Also have been to the Dynamic shotgun/carbine/handgun classes taught by Travis Haley. So I am fairly confident that a street thug would have no chance. But like I said, this is just me wondering what the /k/ommandos think about it.
Pic related is my truck, it's a 1996 F-150 with a rack and extended bed. The radio doesn't work, and odometer doesn't work, and neither does the horn. What modifications need to be done to make it the ultimate operator operations vehicle
>>30598614
Mount a .50 to the back and remove the doors
>>30598614
Here is a part of the interior. I used tactical high speed low drag black duct tape to hold the dash together after some meth head broke in and tried to steal my radio
Paint it tan and put a beefy bumper on it.
I've been lurking on here for quite some time now. However I want to join the military. I am thinking of joining the UN peacekeeprs. I have no idea how to join, anyone think its a good idea?
>>30598391
The UN peacekeepers are the ATF of the world in a way.
>>30598391
You join your national army.
If they are part of a un peacekeeping operation you may then be tasked to it.
Easiest way is to be a police officer then apply directly to the UN after 3-5years of service.... You will be investigating the UN blue helmets for rape and extortion.
>>30598391
Nobody thinks it's a good idea.
Any one what is this? It attaches to my m249 magazine well
Here's another view

Its probably an ammo belt holder attachment point of some kind from the looks of it.

Im a soldier about to deploy in 2 or so weeks. Im missing a part of my equipment that is neccesarily to follow SOP and not get fucked up.
It's a strap that secures what's basically a long mag pouch to my IOTV. I have one, I need two. Im not sure what happened to the other one but I think it was lost when I turned to whole set up in for seeing. I asked my sergeant about this and he basically said im SOL and have to buy a new riflemans kit for 600+.
Does ANYONE know where I can get this strap? Pic related.

>hi all, welcome to the /k/ book club!
>today's refreshments are potluck, because anything else is shilling
>we'll be discussing a craptastic post-apocalypic themed generation warfare tract that flies in the face of logic and history, even in the realm of fantasy
>because of that, the refreshments are mostly vodka and various pharmaceuticals
>now let's take a walk down masochism lane with The Sta-I mean Victoria, ghostwritten by William "Teutonic Caboose" Lind
>As it turned out, the Nazis took over Wisconsin while the cultural Marxists conquered Minnesota. Jews, blacks, Hispanics, and feminists fled Wisconsin for Minnesota, running headlong into whites and Asians coming the other way. Leader Braun set up a concentration camp at Oshkosh, with gas chambers, ovens, the whole works, and began building a new state capitol in the form of a swastika so huge it would be visible from space.
>Really makes you wonder if Lind's erotic tastes swing to JAV rather than Nazi bondage porn.
>Oh, I'm sure there's at least one JAV somewhere out there where a geisha in bondage gets railed by the most teutonic motherfucker they can find wearing a Nazi uniform, after a ten minute long segment where she fellates a Luger.
>I didn’t mind a bit of multiculturalism with Asians, because their culture, like Western culture, had earned respect.
>>“Tell the air boss on the John Kelly to get a transport ready along with four dive bombers as escorts.” The Kelly carried our ground support air wing, which the Japs called Jaeger Air, using the old German word that meant both “hunter” and “light infantry.” It included two squadrons of Val II prop-driven dive bombers. They were slow but deadly accurate, and unlike fancy PGMs you could stock a lot of 2,000 pound bombs because they were cheap.

Chapter 41: Awaken My Masters
>Like most flying boats, the big Kawanishi was slow. By the time we reached Buffalo, the Northern Confederation’s westernmost city, the sun was long gone from the sky.
Is it any surprise that Lind is a fan of flying boats as well as trains?
>The ones we took were solid stock, plain folk and hard working, with the friendliness that had characterized English Canada. We didn’t let in the French Canadians.
Let the Eastern bastards freeze!
>“She leaves at midnight,” the sergeant answered. Trains were always “she,” which was odd since they were supposed to be on time. “But we couldn’t get you a Pullman berth or even a seat. All filled up. Folks are traveling again, mostly on business.””
LIGHT
>“That’s OK, I’ll ride the RPO.” The Railway Post Office car was another old idea we had revived. The mail was sorted en route. You could put a letter in the RPO's slot in Buffalo Tuesday evening and it would be delivered in Albany Wednesday morning.
RAIL
>“No sweat,” the sergeant replied. “The streetcars still run pretty often even this late.” Thanks to Niagara Falls, this part of the N.C. had plentiful electricity, and streetcars had made a fast comeback. They were another good idea we had forgotten about in the Motor Age.
ENTHUSIAST
>The RPO exploded with an immense WHUMPF as steam entered the Niagara’s cylinders and the 80-inch drivers grabbed at the rail. I looked at my old Hamilton watch: right on twelve midnight. In the Northern Confederation, the trains ran on time. Soon the engine was belting out the steady TCH-tch-tch-tch TCH-tch-tch-tch that meant steam at speed. It proved an effective sleeping potion.
Sure, we might have sacrificed computers, farm vehicles, and research universities, but at least the trains run on time.
Hello Burgers.
Chinese Navy began drafting young men to the corps.
We will have big ships rolling in SCC very soon fast.
How do that make you feel?
Do you still not fear China Navy?
I look forward to the opportunity to ventilate chink skulls desu :^)
Everyone in Asia hates China though.
As long as the JMSDF and ROKN also remilitarize, the US Pacific Fleet should be able to beat the shit out of the PLAN.
Not that the people running China are dumb enough to do much more the posture.
>>30597444
PACCOM could already defeat the PLAN. JMSDF and ROKN just ensures overmatching and spreads the love
Yet depictions of it on film are romanticized, super-inaccurate PG-13 hogwash. So little of it is correctly depicted, it pisses me off.
There's a ton of actual Civil War research. Do your homework Hollywood and get it right.
>>30597344
This sounds like a /pol/ thread. I'm not seeing anything referencing weapons here, just some pissy bullshit about politics.
Just convince Hollywood that Gone with the Wind is ready for its remake.
>>30597364
Well they certainly don't get the weapons right.
Cannons don't knock people down bloodlessly, for one thing.
Civil war rifles became quite difficult to fire over time, as they kicked back into the user's shoulders and became increasingly dirty. Some people even loaded multiple rounds into the gun, without even firing. They simply were too distressed by the fighting to function properly.
And the only thing /pol/ would discuss about the Civil War would be race, and you know it.
what /k shit are you getting on Amazon prime day today? I'm pissed because the only knives I see for sale are shitty kershaws.
*Daily reminder that by purchasing through Amazon smile a portion of the proceeds will go to the charity of your choice, including pro gun groups like the NRA
I use Smile to donate to the Free Software Foundation, which is hilarious because it means someone Richard Stallman hates (Amazon) is sending him money.
