Alright /k/ I have two mosin/gunsmithing related questions, also I promise I'm not trying to shitpost my mosin is the first gun that I've been the legal owner of.
1: Will I lose any accuracy or shot consistency if I ditch the stock past the rear barrel band? (pic related). I plan to glass bed the receiver, if that makes any difference.
2: Are there any consequences for simply dissembling the bolt and holding it in a steel vice grip and holding a high-heat torch and then bending it in order to mount a scope? I've done similar things with rebar in the past so I'm fairly competent, and I also don't care if they bolt gets discolored from the heat.

Also pic related isn't actually my mosin, just a 91/30 I found on google images.

Ivan can suck a fat one I paid 115$ for this. No hex bolt or anything fancy on mine so I'm not worried about messing it up.

Were modern military rifles designed for manlets?

Can't speak for Western ones but Soviet ones absolutely were. It was a magnificent feat of attempted social/biological engineering.
>>
>>30759699
I feel you bro, I'm 6'5" so dat collapsible stock is the only way to go.

I can handle my AKM just fine, but it was obviously intended for some subhuman manlet creature dated prior to Neanderthals.
>>
>>30759747
Second that on the AKM. I'm only 6' and it's still way too short

Lets talk about carrying big guns.
>owb in winter. Does it hide well? Is it more comfortable than iwb?

I'm in Florida and conceal a P229 EE in a crossbreed supertuck, no problem. Just tuck in a wifebeater as an undershirt. The supertuck is really comfortable btw.

I carry a Sig P226 IWB using an Alien Gear holster in winter. Its cheap and its fairly comfortable.

Depends on alot of different factors. Likely they would be very hard to detect without focus and an eye for it. Seemingly been here since the beginning though from the artistic depictions... Kinda makes ya wonder.

We don't. If the ayys have the technology to cross the vast gulf of the cosmos to make it to Earth, then the human race was fucked before it even came into existence.

Yes, Ruger's mini series is overpriced but decent. I just hate that they have proprietary magazines. BTW when buying a Mini14 you should avoid pre-2005 models, I don't know if the same applies for the Mini30.

Why does it even matter? They're both doing the exact same thing. If anything, the 9mm is better because it doesn't make as big a mess as the .45. Just use HPs with the 9mm, for fucks sake, faggot.

If it's from MPA go online and purchase the old style hammer, the disconnecter on the new ones is shitty and doesn't last. They can be quite accurate out to 100 yards if you're shooting with a sling like pic related.

Idk what gun specifically, but there's no reason a shoulder mounted Lewis gun wouldn't work. Dumb idea practically speaking though, shoulder weapons have all the problems of bullpups with the ergos of a folding ladder.
>>
>>30759126
Originally it was based off an M16, but they changed it to be more generic pew pew gun later on.

I never hear much about these on /k/? Whats the consensus on them? Do they perform as well as the original SVD?

I live in CT so there are only so many modern guns I can buy that don't have to be absolutely neutered before I get my hands on them.
53 posts and 13 images submitted.
>>
>>30759097
They were OK when they were cheap
They don't measure up to an SVD at all. Get a VEPR in 54R if that's what you want
>>
PSLs have been known to have varying degrees of accuracy, and reliability. Contrary to the appearance, a PSL is not an SVD clone. You'd be better off with a Vepr.
>>
>>30759141
>>30759132

I just hate how the sporterized look of the VEPRs. How easy would it be to throw an SVD wood kit on one of those.

I live in the US and these guys seem to have good prices on Bakelite mags which I am in desperate need of. Is it legal to buy from these guys since they are based in the UK? If so what is you guys' experience with them?

My buddy wants to pick up an entry level AR soon, and I've suggested a Ruger AR556 or an M&P15 Sport. I have a Saiga AK, but don't know a ton about ARs.

Ruger is $579, and M&P is $629 at the local funstore.

What would /k/ recommend?

The Riger is solid, but it's not milspec due to every part being changed a little with a Ruger logo stamped on it.

The S&W is milspec and about the same quality. Though that price is just a little on the high side for one.
>>
i have a couple AR's one being a ruger 556. took it out of the box and shot a few hundred rounds ran great no issues.

the front sight post is stamped aluminum and kinda weird
the hand guard is also a lot slimmer than a traditional m4 carbines.
barrel and flashhider are their own sort of thing as well.
1:8 twist rate isnt bad either way and the internals are all milspec so id say go for it if he doesnt want to just pick up an upper parts kit or something.
