These people are rarely ever thrust into very real and possible situations where they accept owning a gun actually has merit. In other words, they still live in their bubble of safety.
If you put the country into a major economic, social, etc crisis that throws them into the face of undependable law enforcement and they actually have to use their own power to survive, you bet your ass many will come to see why guns work, because someone with a gun will fuck you if you have no gun in an extreme situation.
Its the same with natural disasters. People who live on the west coast will think you're fucking stupid if you don't have some sort of prep for earthquakes.
Same with if you lived in tornado reigons.
Then there's people like us, who might have not experienced that situation where a gun is the ultimate tool, but at the fucking least, we've planned for such a problem and have one of many tools needed.

Pretty good, to be quite honest. Most gun-owners live out in the boonies, so we either have land to shoot on, or know somebody who does. Also most gun stores around here are bros. Ammunition is reasonably priced compared to the rest of the country, and I've found cheap milsurp at nearly every gunshow I've visited recently.

I'm looking at handguns. Pretty much every firearms blog I've read says "glocks are the end all be all of defense pistols, if you are going to have just one pistol. Get a glock" Here's the thing, I just don't like them. I've put 150 rounds through a Glock 17 at a range and about 300 rounds through my friends Glock 19. They are just super uncomfortable to me. Most guns I've fired have some features that make it easy to grip with the human hand, but the Glock seems like you need to configure your hand to fit the design, not the other way around. Sure by the end of practicing with my friends Glock I could hit things better, I understood how the trigger pull worked, and was more accurate with it, but I was much more accurate with the 1911 and a bit more accurate with the Beretta 92 right when I picked them up. I couldn't imagine trusting my life with something I don't feel comfortable with in the first place. Is the answer just to rent them more and "git gud" or would I be fine with a Beretta. I'm talking about mostly home defense here, I don't have a CCW yet.

Glocks are meh in my opinion. They're not an end-goal gun, they just are for some people. Beretta has a nice line-up, so does HK.

I've fired a lot of guns, and I own more than I count. I carry a glock 26, and count on a glock 19 for home defense. It's not suppose to be comfortable, it's suppose to work. If you really want something that feels comfortable get a Walther, but it'll probably jam on your silly ass.

Okay, in theory, this should be the last thread, so get your photos in, FOLLOW THE RULES IN THE IMAGE. If you don't post your call sign with your photo, it's not getting put on.
Also, when I first started doing these threads, people asked about me adding /k/ meet up photos. Yes, now is the time to post those, so far I've asked in 3 threads for people to post those and now no one is posting them. If you want them added, then you need to post them.
Also feel free to add and /k/ related group operating photos you have, there's no image size rule for those, just have two or more people and 2/3s of the people in the photo should be armed.

It really depends on the country.
Russia seems to intentionally encourage this kind of behavior for whatever reason. But the US Navy definitely does NOT. If you did any of that shit that Tom Cruise does in Top Gun, then you're gone. They simply will NOT trust a multi-million dollar machine to somebody who doesn't follow orders.

It's a humbling profession. Call signs aren't cool for a reason. It's one of the most self-critical organizations I know. You will sit through multi hour debriefs listing every single thing you fucked away and how to do it better next time. Guys that excel are the consummate professionals that realize that they need to constantly strive for improvement.
Besides, current air warfare demands constant reading and studying. It's not what most of you guys think. There are fun parts, but for every one of those, there are days of studying tactics, procedures, preparing for briefs, or getting ground job stuff out of the way. I study 10 times more now than I ever did in school.
