So my buddy's getting married and he wanted to see if it would be doable to give out guns as groomsman gifts. I suggested mosins, but those suckers are like $250 now. Anyone have any suggestions? All i have found are bolt action .22's, single shot shotguns, and a heritage .22 revolver
currently leaning toward the Savage 22LR bolt action which goes for around $120.
Im not sure how many groomsmen there are but im guessing around 6 so I cant really stretch the budget that much.

Hey /k/ I live in a place with alot of black bears and brown bears. The only pistol I've got is a .45 Cal so I was wondering what you think of using .45 super as a bear defense round. Will 13 rounds of . 45 super save me from these faggot brown bears that live near me?

The autocannons are there to chew up small boats, which they do admirably. If it's big enough that the autocannons aren't enough then it's big enough to turn the 5-inch on it.

There's no point to this for most ships, it's far too short-ranged and underpowered to be useful. The only place place it sort of makes sense is with the LCS, since eliminating small boats in littoral environments is one of it's missions, and they're already doing fitting it with Hellfires And hell, the only combat ships smaller than the Burke the Navy has aside from the LCS are Cyclones and Avengers, and neither of them need any more firepower than they've already got.

It's supposed to be the length from your finger tip to shoulder. I don't know why, it probably has to do the kinematic balance.
The thing is, they're ceremonial swords. Not bad for home defense, but if you're thinking about tearing up the Takeda's or perhaps your local shopping mall, I'd suggest an O'Tachi or a Naginata.

At this very moment, the US generally has nearly all advantages in terms of numbers, equipment quality, personnel training, and practical reach in a potential conflict.
Of course, different variations -- like the region, or scale of conflict -- could lessen these advantages. Submarines are useful tools, but they are not all the tools necessary to win on water.

I went out to my LGS to show my support for their business. All that ended up happening was these 3 people stood by the road and held signs and got flipped off by just about everyone driving by. I put on my social face and politely asked to take their pictures and engaged in "pleasant" conversation with them and then told them I had to go in and pick up my gun purchase.
They stood out there for about an hour and left without too much of a fuss. Still the busiest I've ever seen in there. 10% off on all blue dot marked guns and no sales tax on anything in the store during the picket, so I picked up a Beretta PX4 in 45 ACP for $500
All in all, fun day hanging out with a bunch of people at the LGS laughing at these idiots out on the road.
