I'm thinking about getting a holster for my Glock 17 for when SHTF. Would a FLEX™ OWB be a good one to buy? Mind you, I'd only be using it in a doomsday type scenario, not EDC. Pic related.
>getting a SHTF holster that isn't Safariland ALS
Correct yourself, son.

Thanks for the rec, but they don't seem to be concealable, which is what I'm mainly concerned about.

>doomsday-type scenario
>wanting to CC but not with your usual CC holster
Could you open carry with a holster like this? Would it count as open carry? Is it safe to do so (retention and reaction wise)? Fill me in please, /k/
>>31089480
It's a paradox I was just myself thinking about the other day.
The gun is concealed, so it is CC.
However, it's pretty fucking obvious what's in a flap holster, so it's OC.
I call it "I'm lazy and walking to the convenience store at 1AM" carry.
Safe? Well, these are indeed police/military holsters, so yeah, unless it's falling apart?
Pretty slow to draw from, though, and you kinda lose the advantage of an actually concealed firearm... that being that people don't know you have it.
>>31089480
Could you? Yes. But why would you want to? This defeats the purpose of concealed carry.
>>31089535
youve done it /k/.
Your officially worse than the fat guy that open carries a Makarov in a uncle mikes at my local gas station every morning.
Why Russians look so sci-fi these days?
>>31089327
Because they buy every meme tier military tech that comes out no matter how impractical
>>31089327
Because they look awesome and the modern US uniforms look like shit.

>Why Russia's PR photos look so sci-fi these days?
FTFY
Protip: we do the same thing
Go
Love it. One of the best purchases I've made in my entire life
Gun: The Gun
Extremely size efficient 15+1 9mm and bridges the gap between a compact and fullsize without being too big to conceal carry.
Hands down without a doubt, Glock's best design.
>Year 2200

LOL no.

What does /k/ think of the F-35 also fighter jet thread?
>F-35
It's probably a good jet.
>>31089148
>>31089148
slow as fuck. otherwise it's okay. good enough against 3rd world airforces.
Any thoughts on the Urban Carry Holster?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZTd0bh0Rr8
Not meant for the quickest draw, but more of a full concealment for people concerned about pressing.
>>31089131
What does pressing mean?
>>31089131
Did you mean "printing"?
>>31089166
clothes showing the outline of a gun or giving away concealment
Does Taurus make any revolver or semi-auto without this faggot key safety hillary hole shit?
>>31089130
Imagine sticking that key in your pooper.
I would assume on their 1911's it's on the mainspring housing like Springfield's ILS. In that case it would be at least easy to remove.
>>31089257
It's on the top of the hammer on the pt1911.
Well, it's finally happened. A burglar broke into my house... while I was sleeping.
Came in through the back window and cleared out the rest of the house before he came to my bedroom. I woke up and just barely caught a glimpse of him. Assumed it was my dad. I am lucky that he shut my door and decided to leave me be.
Any suggestions or advice? I ideally want to spend $300-400. I would prefer a pistol but a shotgun may be more budget friendly. I also have smaller hands (pls don't suggest a pocket pistol).
>>31089039
Sounds like you need to start a neighborhood watch.
>>31089039
Maybe first you should reinforce and get better locks for your door and windows? And also spring for an alarm of sorts, no?
Unless you want the same situation where you're still asleep when he's literally made it to your room and your gun is for the taking.
>>31089039
glock 19.
Get a goddamn light so you don't shoot your dad.
So, /k/, what would you guys say the toughest, most reliable, will shoot with a pound of mud in it pistol is? Imagine something being drug through mud, mold, grim, water, and vastly changing temperatures and humidity with moderate maintenance at best. Hundreds of rounds being put through it in the worst conditions.
What would you choose?
>>31088993
Glock 19
>>31089003
Best answer.
I've taken my 19 and ran it through dirt, water, mud, sand tests and only had failures at extremes.
Other pistols have dicked the dog on range trips.
Any reputable striker pistol
Ignore glawk fanbois
So /k/ I'm a commifornia LA fag and I was wondering what are some ideas to get out of the city in the event of a SHTF scenario. I live in the eastern part of LA county and my plan would be to get out of the low desert area through the 15 freeway or one of the many passes in the san bernadino mountians but once I get out where do you go from there? my plan is to head east and live along the Colorado river what are some other options? Also best gun for desert enviroments
>>31088947
So you're essentially wanting a plan to help you Escape from LA? You know who to ask.
>>31088947
Lol kys
>>31088947
>Leave LA
>During SHTF
You're better off trying to leave by foot or something.
Or just locking down with supplies at home or somewhere defensible near you.
Every possible roadway, trail, exit, etc. you could imagine in any direction out of the city would be gridlocked for miles and days on end in a true SHTF event.
Are you a gun owner /k/?
>>31088810
>1 bolt action savage in .308

i'm poor, so i spend money on ammo instead of more guns.

Maybe a economic or revolutionary apocalypse.
SHTF scenario were we can go INNA woods or INNA city and survive /K/ style.
Holy shit /k/
I just found out you can buy Migs in this country for under a million dollars. You can literally purchasing a flying MIG-17 or MIG-21 for around the price of a new house. You can even buy a MIG-29 for around 5 million but I would never be able to afford that.
...I think I have a new ambition in life guys. I can't believe I live in a country where I can own an iconic warplane that goes 1,300mph.
That would be awesome to own. There are also Saab Drakens that you can buy if that is more your style. If I was rich enough, buying and flying fighter planes is certainly something I'd want to do.
>>31088597
Totally man. My goal is to get a private pilot's license in the next year. I've always loved aviation and been obsessed with planes. Looking through online ads, my mind is blown that you can buy old warbirds for not that cheap.
When I was a kid my dream was to be a fighter pilot but liberal brainwashing screwed that up. However if I could own a fighter plane as a civilian, that would be a dream.
The Draken is the sexiest airplane. That would be amazing to fly.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with buying or flying old warbirds?
