So was the Tiger actually a good tank or not? Could it stand up to the Sherman in battle?
Troll? I'll bite.
No, 1 on 1 Tiger was better than a Sherman, this does not make it a good tank, it just means 1 on 1 a Tiger beats a Sherman. Historically it was never 1 on 1 though, it was 1 on 4 or 8 or more, and while a Sherman could be fully fixed, reset, and recrewed in 1 afternoon, Tigers were hard to fix, expensive to fix, and hard to recover due to size. Tiger is better tactically, Shermans are better strategically.
>>31097627
They were good, though maintenance-intensive. That, combined with late-war shortages of just about everything made them unfeasible as the war went on.
Also, they were almost always outnumbered in any engagement, and the German army developed a somewhat poor doctrine for using them in the field.
>>31097641
So basically, while the Tiger had some positive characteristics, they weren't enough to justify its downsides, and overall it just sucked.
Could you obrez a sks?
>>31097612
It would be possible, yes.
>>31097612
You can obrez anything if you believe in yourself
>>31097612
it won't be all that short, but can be done.
Would a totenkopf tattoo disqualify me from becoming a police officer? I'm not a skinhead or anything, I got it in the Army before I went to Iraq. It wasn't until after I got back till I realized what it was, I thought it was just a nice looking skull.
>>31097510
you're the perfect kind of idiot that the police need
>>31097520
This.
>>31097510
Also, where on your body is the tattoo?
>>31097532
Forehead.
It's under a tattoo of a banner that reads "no soup for you." - but that's not offensive, tho, so they shouldn't care.
Pretty excited /k/.
I finally moved from Jew York into Freedomsylvania. Got my established residency and am going to pick up my first handgun in a couple days.
What kind of things should I expect for upkeep of my handgun, what lube to use (grease vs oil), what things I need to buy for my handgun.
If it helps any I am picking up a 92FS.
Also any PA bros in Tioga county know of any good ranges near Wellsboro?
>>31097476
>92FS
good choice.
modern pistols are pretty impervious to things like rust if you keep them at least moderately cared for.
lots of good lubes/cleaners out there.
Ballistol, break free, Rem Oil, 3in1 oil,, hoppes #9
there an infographic out there somewhere that allegedly shows the diifferences of the performance and rust prohibiting abilities of various lubes. but i dont know where it came from or if its even remotely legit
>>31097548
basically i can go for a year or more without cleaning/lubing my P226 if its just sitting in tjhe closet and it always looks as good as new
>>31097548
I have heard of people using lithium grease or high viscosity motor oil. Is that in anyway acceptable on a firearm?
>Kriss Vector, MP5k, etc. retail for hundreds more than a 12"-16" AR even with stamps

Wat?
Id use a .45ACP carbine/submachinegun if I could get my hands on one.
Im a civilian, if I have to shoot somebody I need them dead. I dont have a fireteam behind me if I am forced to engage and I may not get a chance to get more than 1 shot on target. For that reason I use .308 and 12g in my home defense selections, Im not messing with pistols in a high stress situation in my home when I can have long arms set up for instinctive point and shoot gunfighting, bulk and concealability isnt an issue since I am defending a barricade position in my bedroom in the event of a home invasion waiting for law enforcement or using a .308 battle rifle as a patrol/overwatch rifle in my neighbourhood in a WROL situation. (Upper middleclass White coastal enclave surrounded by ocean on 3 sides then a dindu neighbourhood to get back to central city).
Smgs and any pistol caliber carbine.
China's People's Armed Police patroling with "Wolf Tooth Maces" around the streets to deter knife and sword wielding Uighurs.

A patrol seems to be organized with three men, each with a different weapon.

The Wolf Tooth Mace is one of the more fearsome weapons of Old China.
How good is the Indian military generally, could they stand up to the chinks if they wanted to?
poo
>>31097119
>designated shitting vessel
India loses every border conflict they have had with the Chinks.
If they got into a shooting war with Pakistan, that didn't go nuclear. They only have about 10 days of ammo on hand.
They don't have a standardized service rifle or caliber. So expect logistical fuckery to hamper them even more.
What's the best polymer handgun for all around HD, CCW, and range plinking? Must be 9mm.
Thinking Glock 19 or P320.

no you did not do good. you did ok.
>>31097056
the LCP is a piece of shit that is only good for shooting everyone around your attacker. Should of got a S&W Bodyguard or Sig P238 if you wanted a pocket 380. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
>>31097202
Not sure id go that far but alright.
We all have had bad experiences with companies.
This is a vent thread. Get it off your chest. Let the red mist come.
No complaints here. Only bought stuff from Remington and CSA though :^)

Bushnell. First scope I ever bought and it fell apart after maybe fifty rounds. That was back when I was young and retarded and trusted brand names.

Hey /K/ what's the best 45-70 for large bears? I can't decide if penetration is better or if fragmentation is. I'm not sure not tough bearskin is and if the fragments will not hit any vital organs. But I also don't know if some of those extreme penetrator bullets will just pass through and piss it off.
>>31096906
Fragmentation is always shitty for hunting. You want penetration and expansion.
Hornady FTX or hardcast lead.
Get the biggest softpoints with the most powder that you can. If it doesn't feel like the bear mauled your shoulder you need to go hotter.
>>31096906
>fragmentation
No. Hardcast is a go to for a lot of people in burr country
Alright guys I'm trying to become a Chicago cop, but the only thing stopping me is I don't live in Chicago. How do I get the funds to get a cheap place out there? I meet all other requirements I just don't live in the city

Get a job. Like wtf kind of question is that?

I already have a job but it doesn't pay enough for me to move to the city. Can I take the exam before I move out there? If I do get accepted how long do I have before I join the academy

Looking for a IWB holster. I'm new to guns and just got a glock 19. These alien holsters seems to be popular online. Anyone try these out or prefer something else?

Find a company that doesn't use Boltaron for cheap holster shells.
they are cheap. they fall apart. they will send you another one when it does.
I think their wait times are tolerable now so it might be worth it to get one, especially for a sometimes carry gun that isn't worth spending lots on a holster
OP here.
What about a crossbreed?

Do any /K/ommandos know of a place to get cheap Mosin Nagants? They don't have to be a certain model, or year just decent quality 91/30's for cheap.

Still present for cheapish in most gunstores
