The M16A1: Outdated design or relevant combat rifle?
Discuss.
With a modern bolt and barrel, the M16A1 is just another AR15 platform, with the added benefit of full auto.
Define relevant. If you don't use optics or NODs, there's nothing wrong with it.
is it just me or do those helmets look like theyre too small for the people wearing them?

I appreciate your art, anon.
Dumping my latest vatnik aircraft
I'm thinking of getting a Hi Point carbine for my first gun. What does /k/ generally think of these firearms?
We begrudgingly admit they aren't so bad
>>31179446
Cost effective nigger slayers
>>31179446
i bought one as my first.
very mild recoil
meh trigger, but not terrible
surprisingly comfy in terms of weight balance
cheap to shoot = more practice
more accurate than it has a right to be, out to 100 yards. with a good optic you could stretch out a bit, but it loses a lot of accuracy around the 200 yard mark
god tier customer service, seriously.
their store has decent accessories that are cheap but work.
im not saying they are perfect, but they are retardedly rugged, pretty accurate, and fire a man-stopping round. all for under 300 sheckles.
Can we get a /k/ related survival tutorial thread?

Considering buying a Desert Eagle .50 AE in a couple days. Is the Desert Eagle just a novelty gun? I know its not practical by any means but its a fun gun to shoot. What would you spend the 1500 on other than a Desert Eagle .50?
>>31179167
Its accurate, believe it or not
>>31179342
Thats what I've read. Really am eager to get it, but like I said, I'm sure the money is better spent else where in terms of practicability, just not sure on what.
>>31179167
>1500 bucks for a 7-round pistol with overpriced rounds and too much recoil to aim straight
you could buy 2 pistols, 1 rifle and 1 shotgun for that much
Delta or SAS /k/ ?
>>31179148
Obviously delta
>>31179148
That's SAS. Task Force Black in Baghdad. They often wore American camo patterns to blend in with US counterparts or out of preference. You can find a few pics of them with Unit guys
>>31179163
Sombitch..your right...forgot about that...I stand corrected. Goddammit if the brits don't try to look like Americans.
Would you give up your guns for your besties?
>>31179078
>>31179078
Do i triple blowjob on demand?
>>31179078
Fuck no. I don't expect my besties to do the same for me.
Post your generals.

He actually has a high pitched boyish voice, not the macho gravelly one you hear in the Patton movie.
Picking up my M&P9 trade in tomorrow. Currently only have a Shield. Does anyone else think that the M&P line actually looks nice?

>Does anyone else think that the M&P line actually looks nice?
No
>>31179051
M&Ps are leagues ahead of glocks in pretty much every way, including looks / aesthetics.
They also don't need every part changed out right from the factory.
Or have a shit fan base
Too bad I'm stuck in cuckafornia, otherwise I'd be all over the sheild45
>>31179051
I like the way they look. An m&p9 was my first gun, a gift from my dad. I slapped an apex trigger and sear kit in it and it's shoots amazing. However, my preference has shifted towards hammer fired guns recently, so I don't shoot it nearly as much as is should.
hello /k/ i recently sent in an order for a service grade M1, looking at the forums for lead times and people know the day the cmp received the order, dbu (whatever that is), and something about the e store.
i know none of this, did i fuck up some how on ordering?
gotta wait till they get your papers and then you can long into their site to see ts progress
>>31178784
so they make me an account?
its your email address and a password you make here https://estore.thecmp.org/store/account/account.aspx
Are there any good 100 % pure American weapons?
Kimber rifles are OK, but they are frightfully expensive. Portuguese Winchesters are better for the price.
What kind and how much do you wanna spend?
>>31178731
there were
guess you can get a garand still
Okay guys, I've finally decided to buy a 10/22 as my first gun. This is set in stone. I'm going to be using it for learning and plinking. Now I want to know:
What accessories to buy?
Ammo?
Scope/sights?
Spare parts?
Where should I buy it? Closest chains are Dick's and Gander Mountain, plus there are some LGSs nearby. I live in Northern Virginia if that helps. I'm setting my max budget for everything at $750.
>>31178710
You should buy a 10/22, a boatload of magazines and ammo, and some of these:
http://www.tech-sights.com/ruger-products/
You need nothing else.
>>31178721
Follow this chodes instruction
mags, gun food, and those sights
You can upgrade down the line once you can shoot with a stock rifle
>>31178721
this and a gi sling will get you pretty much set for a while.
we're telling you to build a liberty training rifle in other words.
Hey /k/ I might be going to the range this weekend, what should I shoot? I don't own any guns atm which is why I want to try before I buy. What should I try?
>>31178668
Fuck thats cute.
>>31178738
Ikr? It's like it's being tickled and rolling around laughing. I need it.
Is this about a cat, or about shooting?
Without seeing your hand size, I can't tell you
But first you need to fire a 22LR just so you understand the mechanics of a gun.
What are some upcoming guns you have your eye on?
>P320 Target
>Px4 Compact Carry
Glock 17 upgrade that was for the FBI but hopefully will come to civilian market

Looks great:

Is there anything wrong with using high temperature auto grease for guns?
Tends to fail pretty badly when it gets dirty.
Vtwin oil works well if you want an easy to get oil.
>>31178607
No problem at all.
>>31178625
That's why you maintain your guns. Grease makes maintenance easier. Get gud.
It will get sticky
And can't use on polymers
