Why is /k/ so autistic?
>Put a scope on a AK
>Fine
>Put a scope on a SKS/Mosin
NYET RIFLE IS FINE YOU RUIN GLORIOUS SOVIET DESIGN SERGEI MOSIN ROLLING IN GRAVE YOU TAKE BEAUTIFUL RIFLE AND RUIN IT YOU MUST LIVE IN OKLAHOMA/TEXAS/ALABAMA WOW IT'S A BUBBA THREAD
Why does it matter how a rifle is modified as long as it is done well and the owner enjoys it?
Not mine, but pic related. A pretty neat SKS.
Not all of /k/ are slavaboo shitstains who cry at a cheap gun being made better.
>>31182741
its simple
most currently produced aks come with siderails
easy on on easy off
sks/mosin requires permanent modification or hackjob replacing the rear sight
installing a scope mount properly usually costs 100+ which is dumb on a gun thats only redeeming value is its cheap
One requires adding a commercially produced rail. The other requires irreversibly hacking up a piece of history.
Hello, /k/
I'll get straight to the point. I'm 28, jobless, and living with my parents. I'm thinking of joining the military. I could use the discipline and structure. However, I've never been in shape in my life. I've been walking/running lately, and watching what I eat. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. pls no bully

whats your current weight and height?
if you dont know guestimate.
Which caliber would you rather have in a self defense situation: 9mm or 45ACP?
>>31182656
it's easier to quick dump 9mm in a small area than .45, so 9mm.
>>31182656
Depends on if you are having to shoot through glass vehicles etc. 9 is a good bet on both. 45 would be good on a home invasion scenario
>>31182691
>easier to quick dump
is your dick as limp as your wrist.
Al Serpico show up at your home with intent to kill you. you have 45 second to grab an weapon or make one before he kick in the door. what weapon do you choose? running is not an opton and he will fight to the death.

He's a cop
Cops have no reason to kill me
Your thread is invalid
>>31182581
What's he armed with? I mean, I can just grab the knife by my seat, but if he has a gun then I'm going to have to get all the way out of my chair before he gets here.
Should I even condiser a new Remington 870 for a defensive shotgun. I know that the new production Remington 700s are utter shit. Are there new production 870s any better? Also is there any real reason to spend the extra $100 for Mossberg 590 over a 500? I am looking for somthing like pic(s) related, a full length tube/extended tube, bead sight and a standard stock.
>>31182492
>>31182492

new 870 are shit
590 is pointless, unless it's specifically the 590A1, which has a thicker heavier barrel and metal trigger guard.
Just go for a 8 shot 500.

Don't you know that scary words on something make it 100x more lethal? Just wait until I spray paint KillRover onto my Fiat Bravo, it will hit you harder than a tank.

We WH40k now?

US just approved the sell of 36 F-15SE to Qatar in a deal worth 4 Billion dollars.
>Pros:
I will witness a stealthy F-15 in my lifetime
>Cons:
They are sold exceptionally to a small country in the middle of nowhere
>>31182447
Neat. Any good writeup on what makes it the SE?
>>31182447
It doesn't mention the Silent Eagle anywhere in that article. It only says F-15s, and as far as I know Qatar has only expressed interest in the F-15E, not the F-15SE.

Can paratroopers still be used as they were intended? Dropped behind enemy lines to secure bridges, take out communications, etc.
I know glider infantry is kind of obsolete, but are there innovations that could make it viable? Or have helicopters more or less taken over?
>>31182260
No, combat drops behind enemy lines are mostly obsolete with few exceptions.
Paratroopers are mostly "first responders" now and when things start to get heated, a rapidly deployable unit to reinforce/secure an area prior to actual conflict.
>>31182260
They're a meme unless you have complete 100% unchallengeable air superiority.
>Paratroopers last used in combat as recently as 2013
>People still asking if they're viable in warfare

Tactical/military/custom folding knives.
What do you have /k/? And what would you recomend?
Can fellow /k/ommandos recomment some good EDC folding/fixed knifes? What about a Glock knife? Or a Spyderco? Leatherman? Help pls.

Spyderco delica

It's easier to recommend depending on your style preferences.
As more and more robots and drones and unmanned electronic is being deployed, what type of bullets will good for taking out drones/new tech? I'm thinking wide caliber to fuck up as much circuitry as possible, but that would also lessen the AP possible without going into .50 BMG/HUEG CANNON-territory.
I'm thinking 10mm Auto with well developed bullets will make a comeback.
I'm thinking within the frame of a single person carrying and using the weapon, not much vehicle mounted M2s and railguns.
What do you guys think?

If you are talking about robot infantry mass issue, M995 for 5.56mm and use .50 M82's for marksman use. EMP grenades would be useful as well.
