Would a power armor thread be best here at /k/ or /o/? If I'm making the thread anyway. How would you make a suit of power armor? I'd use 2 1/2" thick titanium alloy plates to cover the chest and the arms and legs would be screwed onto the main chest piece. The joints would be made from some sort of rubbery lattice. Also for heavier builds we would put in some sort of "oversized co2 cartridges" that would release air pressure fast enough to help push the weight.
Anyway. How would you build one?
Heavy as fuck. Titanium sucks
Use 7075 aluminium and level III pe plates over vital parts.
>>31374795
Forgot to say.
For movement you use pretensioned springs. And build an exoskeletton for legs and build your chest protection on that. Ao that its selfsustai ing ita weigt and you only have put energy into move it. Like a shopping cart where its easier to puss a full cart then carrying all.
And for joints use kevlar or dyneema

The power source is still the biggest issue.
Some African arms maker (Thales) is actually making and selling brand new technicals based on a toyota truck.

Threw up at the lack of aesthetics.
Technicals arent made, they just happen.
I know the SKS was the meme gun of 2015 or 14 but I never really payed attention to those threads.
Anyways I got into russian guns via a shop I usually buy surplus ammunition and so my next purchase will be an AK clone or an SKS.
A wooden Tula SKS costs almost 500€, the one shown in the picture is about 580€ or so. That's about the price you have to pay for a "new" SKS here in Germany these days.
Is it worth it?
do not buy that gun.

>>31374474
It's not bad.
What's the most expensive gun you own and what's the most you are willing to pay for a new gun?
Pic related it's the most expensive gun I'm willing to buy at around 1k.
Personally it's my AR-15, which was about $700.
I'd probably be willing to spend up to $3k for a gun, but I'm pinching pennies since I dropped $28k on a new truck.
>>31374430
You over payed
I paid 750 for my howa m1 carbine.
I don't know how high I'd be willing to pay, depends on the gun. Most expensive gun I'm interested in right now are AKs in the 700-900 range. I'd only buy it if I sell a few guns I no longer shoot though.
Just learned about the PAPOP, french prototype from the end of the 90's, designed to replace the FAMAS in the long run.
Instead of these sweet 8kg of fun and grenades, we're buying boring kraut rifles.
Also, prototype thread.

>Part of a feasibility study for the SA80A2 Mid Life Improvement project, which aims to prolong the in-service life of the UK Forces’ 5.56mm weapon beyond its 2025 OSD, the A3 prototype includes a number of modifications including:
>a safety stud placed above the change lever on the trigger mechanism housing to ensure that this lever does not over-rotate
>the Weaver rail on top of the upper receiver being taken off and a full length Picatinny rail fitted – this will allow day sight and night sight to be mounted in tandem
>a new foregrip, or quadrail, as part of the new full-length rail which will be attached slightly differently to the current one allowing the barrel to be more free-floating than at present to improve accuracy and consistency
> redesign of the A3 upper receiver for improved reliability and maintainability over the current A2 variant
>colour change to Matt Earth for better compatibility with MTP camouflage uniforms

Why do people do this k?
Why pull the gun in so close to your body when your finished shooting? Shouldnt they be lining up another sight picture?
Ive havent taken a course where they teach this, just my ccw class.
So maybe someone can explain why.
>>31374242
We get it you saw the pat mac vid, yes it's funny.
Fuck yourself.
>>31374242
arms are quicker and easier to be straightened from that pose TO the next line-up shot.
Also makes you a smaller target, harder for foes to grab your gun, and allows you to do super-close quarters shots at anyone trying to rush your face.
When you turn around to shoot someone behind you or start running like hell you aren't supposed to have the gun at full extension for obvious reasons. This assumes the target you shot is down and you're trying to figure out what to do next.
Buy other anons shit, sell your shit, trade for shit. Post pictures, prices, contact info.

$300.00 for my ciras medium OCP 2010 (last year) factory direct never issued thanks to my connections in the defense industry. I will even pay the shipping. I will not include any ancillary panels or ballistic 3a nij 06 inserts I am using that towards my new plate carrier. IT will fit shooters/full cut /SAPI medium or large. Interested? It will just be the carrier with training inserts all extras excluded from sale in the picture of course. If you have a CRYE Airlite in
Ek04 or EK02 and willing to trade or blue force plateminus V2 in multicam medium I will accept as a fair trade this is a one time deal.
Kora Kulon Russian Bulletproof Vest for sale or trade. It's level 2 GOST so rated for pistol rounds, not raifu.

So what is it like settling for less by buying a CZ Scorpion Evo or an awkward 9mm AR?

there's not many threads on here about optics
anyone have any experience with these? thinking about picking them up for my scar. doesn't have to be the model with the red dot on top
any recommendations for a good battle rifle scope?
will my scar destroy this thing? 17's are known to eat shit optics
any help would be appreciated. i dont wanna blow 1500-2000 on a scope and have it turned into sand in a year
It's touted as the most durable scope out there, so it should do fine on a 17S. I really enjoy my TA-31F on my SBR; you may want to do a TA-11 for the 17S.
>>31373401
>anyone have any experience with these
Have a ta31 without the rmr. It's breddy good.
Consider a ta11 or 33 in addition to the 31, you will appreciate the eye relief because of the whole .308 thing. The 31 should still be usable though and has Cadillac widescreen fov.
>dont wanna blow 1500-2000 on a scope and have it turned into sand in a year
There legitimate complaints about acogs (overpriced for what they are, reticule bloom in bright environments and shitty tritium illumination in dark environments) but durability is not one of them. They are as robust as an optic gets.
If this is the only thing holding you back from getting one then get one.
>>31374119
>ta11 or 33 in addition to the 31
*instead of, one optic should be enough.
