Bought pic related today. One of my dad's coworkers was running a booth at the gun show and he agreed to charge me $10 less than my LGS for the transfer fee. Paid about $330 for it. I plan to have it cerakoted black and maybe put some new grips on it. New acquisitions thread?

>I plan to have it cerakoted black and maybe put some new grips on it
Why? WHY?
It's beautiful just the way it is. No need to bubba it up.
>>31378148
I'm probably only going to do it if the finish is worse than it looks. I love finish wear on guns but this is gonna be my innawoods handgun, my SHTF handgun and basically everything else until I get another pistol. I'd like it to be more readily able to withstand the elements.

My basement floor is filthy
You're a manlet if you CC anything less than a full size variant.
Even full grown men are ill advised to carry a full size variant if they want to stuff a gun in their prison pocket, buttcheeks, or bathing suit area.
Yes, this is necessary when you're a nudist at heart and want to wear tiny shorts but not be unarmed.
>>31377884
that's some twisted logic, manlet.
>can never CC a beretta because I'm a manlet
why even live?
/fit/ here
my friend took me shooting today, it was my first time. after a little bit he packed up his guns and stormed off, said something about me failing to discipline the trigger. i don't get what he is on about, it is a piece of metal, you can't teach it anything.
Please tell me /fit/ is smarter than this

Buy a parts kit.
Good luck with finding a Rear site assembly.
>>31391510
Any sites you'd recommend for getting a parts kit from?
>>31391528
NoDak Spud, AR-15Sport.com and Brownells. Or you could get a Colt SP-I or SP-II
Who wins? For what reason?

What do you think of the law that when the president is in a building, that building becomes a federal site and no guns are allowed on a federal site?
>>31390827
Purely a security measure.
>>31390827
When the flying mortal fuck did this happen?
"rights" aren't a real thing
Cheap gunns for poorfags
Long guns prefered
Story: i have 175 to spend on a new long gun. Just turned 18 3 weeks ago and im still defenselesfag. No mosins in my area and dont want a break barrel single shot
>>31390092
175 ain't gonna get you shit
Maybe a stevens shotgun
Picky poorfag
>>31390092
You might be able to get a Yugo Mauser or a French Mle-36 for around 200
What if instead of a gun registry, we just had cards like a driver's license that stated what classification of guns we could own? Class A through C, going semi-auto rifles to SBRs, with a special Class D for the guys lucky enough to own automatics. Make Concealed Carry separate like how boating licenses are. Grandfather all current owners in with the appropriate license of course. Nothing gets confiscated.
>Shall Not Infringe
Gotta bite the bullet sometime, why not be the one dictating terms? Set them in stone and make them a mess to change too.
Bolt/lever rifles, shotguns, and maybe revolvers require no permit, everything else does. Doing a private trade? Just check if the guy is classified for the type of firearm. Only thing legally required, and if the guy was a nut and goes on a shooting spree, you can tell the Gubm't it was their fault for clearing the guy on his permit. Gut the laws currently established for selling/trading firearms to ease the process.
Getting a Class A is the same as getting an SBR now: send a letter to the ATF about it, they send you a permit card, all is well.
Ramp the requirements up as the classifications go up. Drop in background checks for the highest level or two.
Shoot me down with something other than paranoia or claiming no one will listen and I'll stop spreading this idea. The ball is in your court.
>>31389641
>Getting a Class A is the same as getting an SBR now
Meant cutting down a rifle now. Not an SBR. Don't bite my head off lads.
>>31389641

>>31389641
How about "shall not be infringed" and go fuck yourself?
How do double barrel shotguns work? I know how to use them, but how does the firing pin or hammer cock back when you open and close it? How do the fancy ones eject spent shells? Are over under style guns more complicated?
>>31388952
>how does the firing pin or hammer cock back when you open and close it?
the barrel pulls the operation as it bends forward during opening action, and cocks it.
>How do the fancy ones eject spent shells?
Ejectors inside the barrel, tied to the opening mechanism, usually with a simple pressure system to detect if the barrel's fired or not.
>Are over under style guns more complicated?
only slightly.
>>31388952
In the style of shotgun from your pic, yes breaking the action open cocks the strikers. The motion of opening the action also pushes out the extractor as seen in your posted pic. That can be spring loaded so it ejects the shells with sufficient force that they go flying back over the shooter's shoulder when the action is opened.
Over/under style double-barreled shotguns are mechanically the same, just adjusted so the bores are centered with the long lines of the shotgun.

Beaten like a rented mule, good post tho.
I brought a set of "raid" overalls and hat from a old French guy in France while over there for €80, did I do good?
They zip all the way down

After getting an offer for my Mosin for 350, plus an extra 150 fory last spam can. I decided I want to get Mauser 98 rifle. I figured a pure Nazi one is gonna be expensive but what can I get for that kinda money. More or less 500 total. Also is there any decent surplus ammo out there?
>>31388750
>350 fur a nugget
What happened...
You can probably get a Russian Capture with or without the markings peened off for that price.
For a bring back with or without matching bolt you'll be looking at at least $1,000.
>>31388750
500 will get you an RCed K98K.
Nutshell:
>Russians Captured a shit ton of k98ks
>Tore em down to just barreled recievers
took off the "extra stuff" (sight hoods and locking screws)
>give metal parts horrible bluing
>Put whatever parts/stocks back together
>forcematch with electro pencil
>peen any nazi markings
Still work fine and shoot great though.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?!?
Barbie suicide.
they were thinking that its better than nothing, but in reality once you pull a gun the situation instantly escalates. so unless the gun can actually wound someone or at least scare someone off, there really is no point.
>>31388617
It's a self defense gun for raccoons, possums, small monkeys, lemurs, and other small animals. Truly an untapped market.
Nogunz fag here. Can someone explain to me why .380 isn't disliked for the same reasons as .40 S&W? If .32 and .380 are both seen as a barely adequate compromise that trades power for size wouldn't it make sense to use the round that is more controllable and less snappy? If stopping power is a concern why not just get a subcompact 9mm or a snub nose .38? It seems like the worst of both worlds. .32 used to be seen as adequate for a service pistol. What changed?
.380 is a perfectly acceptable cartridge that meets FBI standards (usually)
.32 has been known to get stopped by cigar cases and whiskey flasks.
it's not a compromise between calibers. it's a compromise on size.
.380 is a good cartridge that can be put in real small guns.
.32 is just small.
>>31388473
Proliferation of 9mm SMGs following WW1 by militaries and post WW2 by LEO. Additionally, its refuge as a ccw caliber was eliminated with the destruction of concealed carry for civilians in Europe.
In more recent years .32 ACP has gone away because it doesn't have enough velocity to get both reliable expansion and penetration. That's why myself and others who carry it usually use FMJs.
.380 is fuddshit desu. Literally 1mm difference between it and a 9mm making the people who buy them completely retarded. It's liked because people follow the advice of advertisers.
>>31388575
>.380 is fuddshit desu.
Salty .32babby who doesn't use his memes right detected.
.32 is garbage and only still made because of the old guns chambered in it.
I was going through wikipedia in a moment of boredon and foud this nice pic of a melanin enriched gentleman in his natural african habitat. The caption read: "A Dogon hunter with a flintlock rifle, 2010." and was taken by some photographer in Malin. Can anyone tell me what sort of rifle it is? I am very curious and the caption doesnt say.
Mother of god, is that a baker?
To my untrained eye it looks like a Brown Bess (aka Land Pattern Musket of 1731, standard issue to the British Army 1731-1840s)
Do any Sub-Saharan African countries produce firearms? It isn't rocket surgery.
