He's a bit more of a normie than I like, and doesn't really do anything that relevant or do reviews, but his vids are fun enough, I like him regardless.

I have read and read about the differences between these two. I have seen the " durrr you're just making an AR have old technology that was used on the AK ", also " LESS ACCURATE ". I have seen both sides of the argument. What I can't seem to find is someone that took the same 2 AR's,and just swapped the gas system out with the piston system and tested them side by side. I think I am going to do this with some of the lowers I have and 2 of the PSA Carbine length kits ( and one of them I will obviously put a gas system on ). So at that point, I will have one of each, with " relatively " the same parts... OR have one of you done it, or seen it done already? If you have, or know of someone that has done a review of said weapons ( like I said, same guns, just different gas / piston systems ), please show me!

They're like $400, not that bad. They used to be like $100 when first made, and they're just popular among people for their collectors value. Everyone knows the TEC-9.

Colt Single-Action Army, most likely in .45 LC.
The "patina" (AKA mild dark rust) indicates that it might be an original period-correct example. I see a "U.S." marking on the frame, which could indicate original US Govt./Military use.

Values on original Colt SAAs from the 1800s run from thousands to tens of thousands. There's a lot of money on your hand and it's definitely worth your time to get it authenticated and appraised. Colt runs a program where you submit the serial number and they will send you a certificate with the date of manufacture and whatever info they have on it. Don't worry about it being "stolen US property", if that were the case it's so old that's not an issue anymore.

Whatever you do, DO NOT attempt to "clean up" the gun. Restoration on antique firearms is a very careful process that can do more harm to the value than good. It looks functional, and the patina only adds to the authenticity and history of the piece.

Story and more pics anon. That looks to be an all original 1st generation 1873 Colt Single Action Army. I don't think it's an army issue at that barrel length.

What's a good self-defense round to load my AR-15 with? I heard PMC's M855 is pretty good but I'm not totally sure what to get
11 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>31607731

I would probably get american eagle's 193, since the M855 over-penetrates anyways.
>>
>>31607731
Depends what you want to do.
If you're concerned about somebody wearing body armor or hiding behind walls then military loads like M193 are good, since they penetrate and then yaw/fragment.
If you want to minimize over-penetration then there are better loads, this article goes into more detail than I can.
http://preparedgunowners.com/2016/01/12/the-approved-list-of-5-56-nato-223-rem-self-defenseduty-ammo/
Basically, fancier, more expensive ammo that fragments more reliably in order to minimize collateral damage. Mostly SP and HP variety.

So Russia just moved nukes into Kaliningrad.
Right next to Poland. And pretty near Germany.
I believe they've also been improving their relations with India.
And I live 20 minutes from DC and Baltimore.
And Fort Meade.
And Fort Detrick.
And Annapolis.
I plan on fleeing north west to beat the nukes and air flow. But I'm kinda in the middle of it.
I'm also hoping that I'm inside when the bombs fall.
Anybody know of any good protective radiation gear I can get?

You'll probably have time to flee, since a decapitation strike on Washington is unlikely in the first few minutes, or even days of war. Upon hostilities, nope the fuck out of there but dont worry until then.
>>
>>31607711
Now, I'm no Oppenheimer, but I would assume that if they were going to use nukes, the first thing they'd do is nuke DC.
Am I wrong?
Or rather, why do you think I'm wrong.

If you move from a free state with legally aqcuired ARs private party, to CA, what do you have to do to be legal?

Same thing most Mexicans do: keep your mouth shut.

Destroy or otherwise get rid of them.

First you make sure your rifle is compliant under current CA laws via this flowchart.
https://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf
Then you fill out one of these and cut a check to the CA DOJ to the tune of $19 per gun, in order to register it to yourself.
http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/volreg.pdf

And if you modify your AR by putting a bullet button on it, you will have to register it as an Assault Weapon sometime within the next year, which in theory could allow you to take the BB off, but will make owning it slightly more of a pain in the ass.
You can take it off AW registry by making it compliant under the new laws. IE mag is either fixed more securely than a BB OR a featureless setup.

Too many variables.

Ghetto ass hood nigger with a gun in a white girls face? My QT and I would both draw on him.

Upstanding young nigger with a gun pointed at a splayed-out white crackhead? I'd offer to call the cops for him.

All depends on the situation.

get the 686. Revolvers are really good to train with and are never break (or rarely do). They're great to practice with and to learn how to shoot.

I started with a S&W 581. Love that gun.

Anyone here do any leatherwork?
I'm tired of having no holster options for my special snowflake guns so I'm going to try my hand at making some.

I've been doing amateur gunsmithing, kydex/PVC shaping, and other garbage for a few years so I'm familiar with many of the processes but I've never laid hands on it so far. Any advice?
