Alright /k/, /pol/ here, I wouldn't come here if it weren't an emergency; once World War 3 starts, where will the safest place in the U.S. be, and what weapons should I bring with me?
None. Everything in an all-out WWIII scenario will be in varying degrees of fucked.
People who believe that WWIII/SHTF will be their salvation/liberation/revenge are delusional and probably won't last a month like most others including you and I.
>>31611203
the best place is the cupboard under the sink in your mums house awaiting eternal darkness. if SHTF we're all fucked, laddy.
what is it with kids believing there will be a ww3?
you DO know what happened in ww2, right?
most first world countries (ie european countries) are settled with not going to another war.
Thought experiment time!
Imagine you are transported to an alternative reality 1888, but in this universe smokeless powder doesn't work chemically, and can't. Using your /k/nowlege what semi-auto action would you use with black powder?
>>31611056
Long-stroke gas piston with larger hole in barrel to compensate for less pressure.
>>31611056
Your premise is retarded. Smokeless powder was critical for the development of semi auto weapons due to its higher pressure allowing for more energy to cycle the action and its lower amount of fouling to ensure those actions were able to move.
>>31611077
What about fouling?
Wouldn't something like short recoil or roller delayed fix that
Give me ONE reason not to make this my primary ccw
You are not a brown anime girl.
Not made in the US
>>31610645
you can't cc a full size pistol?
Need some /k/ approved Post-Apocalyptic movies
A Boy and His Dog. Don Johnson and his canine friend have adventures.

The postman. For realism.
Movie not the book. The book was getting out there. It was good though.
Hello /k/,
Please help me settle an argument about weapon classifications.
True or false:
>an AK-47 is a machine gun
>an AK-47 is an assault rifle
>any fully-automatic gun is a machine gun
>a gun can be both a machine gun and an assault rifle
My understanding is that all 4 of these are true. I understand that """assault rifle""" is a bit of a media buzzword that may or may not have any basis in reality.
>>31610209
Assault rifle is a subsection of machine gun, for something to be an assault rifle in must be chambered in an intermediate cartridge, have select fire capabilities, and a releasable magazine.
>>31610228
Is not* a subsection of machine gun, I mean
>>31610209
>>31610209
>>an AK-47 is a machine gun
Yes
>>an AK-47 is an assault rifle
There are no "assault rifles"
>>any fully-automatic gun is a machine gun
Yes
>>a gun can be both a machine gun and an assault rifle
See above
Have any of you /k/ommandos taken a girl to a shooting range for a date? Was it fun?
>>31609874
it's a good 2nd or 3rd date desu
I need some crown moulding... I think range date is probably up there with movie as killer of conversation which is pretty important on a first date... Then again my wife and I had our first date at a restaurant with an Elvis impersonator eliminating any chance at conversation, and then a movie...
>>31609942
I was thinking I could help with her shooting stance and whatnot since it's her first time. Seems like an easy way to escalate kino.
Is CAR some tacticool meme that isn't any good? I mean obviously it's somewhat obscure so regardless if it's any good or not you'll be laughed at, but still curious. I'm attracted to its seemingly more point shooting orientated style, but that doesn't mean anything if it's shit.
>>31609729
It's great if you don't intend to hit the target.
>>31612173
it's only meant to be used when you're fairly close
if those crazy fucks firing double action from the hip could hit a target at 10 yards then i figure some guy who practices can hit with CAR
I'm just going to leave this here.

>>31609684
Do you plan on your literal niggerrigged niggergun cycling?
In the fantastical SHTF scenario what weapon would you choose and what you be your fighting style
I would be a juba tier urban sniper. Take shots within 500 meters and fuck off in the confusion. I can reasonably defend myself in close to mid range situations but wouldn't want to get into a drawn out thing with AR/AK combatants where they would have fire superiority
id use an AR and would only use it if i absolutely needed to. I'd do a lot of hiding and would rather lay a little suppressive fire and retreat than try to win a firefight.
if i needed to kill someone i'd stalk them and ambush them.
>>31609321
Please get a trip already and/or contain your autism to the BRG threads you always shit up.
>This is what autistic poorfags actually believe
>fantastical shtf scenario
My weapon of choice is a green lantern ring, my fighting style is encasing people in energy bubbles then tossing them into space.
Presumably if you are on here, you are already the owner of, or interested in one day possessing a weapon of some sort.
A question for you; what are your beliefs on violence? Particularly when is it appropriate? Let's not limit this to civilian firearms per se, the last thing I want this to turn into is a 2A debate. [Let me disclaimer this in case this is coming across as some sort of high and mighty "why do you guys need violent objects" etc etc... I got guns, I edc. I'm just curious on other's stances on the topic]
I would say; [disclaimer once again; my definition of "right" here is in moral terms, please obey your local laws and regulation when it comes to engaging in interpersonal conflict]
Violence is only appropriate when instrumental. It is appropriate to maim and kill in the name of defending your person, your property and your interests (e.g war on a national scale for resources; which is not to say I'm going to let any yahoo take my TV to sell for crack, I'm just not going not going to take it personally; I'll still defend my property)
I believe violence on IMPULSE, which is to say violence over women and for pride etc... is deplorable and inapproriate for adults. I mean sure, who didn't get in a dust up or two over a girl or when somebody "looked at you wrong" but there's a time and place for that; and that's childhood, anyone who can't grow out of that has no place in modern society.
What's your stance?
Call me a cuck and coward, or a barbarian if you want, but please DO tell me what your position is. I don't particularly care about what your opinion of MINE is; More importantly I'm interested in what YOURS is.
>>31609296
If it is necessary to achieve a morally agreeable action (defending ones property or family, stopping a violent crime, etc) then an appropriate violent response is justifiable from an ethical standpoint.
Violence should be appropriate for the situation. There are situations where physical contact is justified but lethal force would not be.
The ideal should be that citizens following the social contract for their society should not have to resort to violence for any situation but this isn't a world of ideals.
>I believe violence on IMPULSE, which is to say violence over women and for pride etc... is deplorable and inapproriate for adults.
Impulsive violence is degenerate behavior and the hallmark of an under developed male.
>I mean sure, who didn't get in a dust up or two over a girl or when somebody "looked at you wrong" but there's a time and place for that; and that's childhood, anyone who can't grow out of that has no place in modern society.
Pretty much. Adolescent and teenage unarmed violence is pretty normal and is very different from something like a home invasion.
>Call me a cuck and coward,
I wouldn't. I spent a lot of time thinking about things like this so that I would have a very clear line on whether I should respond with violence at any point.
It may seem like pussy arguing to some people but the advantage is that I'm not going to feel guilty if I ever have to use violence because I knew I made an educated decision, even if it was on reflex.

I dislike violence, so I avoid it.
When people use violence on me, I show them why I hate it by exercising it on them.
how does /k/ feel about these guys? the half american, half austrian "task force pluto" fighting in ukraine?
for the full article, google "broomstick brotherhood ukraine"

>ukraine
>>>/x/
First, whose side are they fighting for? I'm assuming the Ukrainians, but you never know.
Second, I think they're wasting they're time fighting in Ukraine, when they could be fighting ISIS. The Ukrainian war is kind of morally grey, I really wouldn't want to kill people on either side, cause the both got a point to their views.
ISIS though? Kill them to the last man. They're pretty much the modern day equivalent of Nazi's.
What firearm would a crusader use? Assuming they still wear armor of that day
AR-15
Something beefy like an AA-12 or an M60

FAL. The right arm of the free world is going to free the shit out of the holy lands.
We have a general now for AR's, AK's, battle rifles the Middle East, Writefags, gear queers, tanks, anime girls, and who knows what else.
So how about a thread for us penny pinchers, poorfags, and guys who just can't pass up a sub-$400 gun?
Starting off the festivities with my newest addition, this Ruger P90DC in fuddy fahve. $300, two mags. Had it for three days, already love it. Makes me miss the P95 I had, but I'm getting another one of those soon.
Avoid the zastava m88a inconsistent in quality and a huge hassle to deal with CAI. The slide on mine locks back even when the mag has ammo in it. Had it sent in for repair, got it back and the same thing happened.
>>31609652
No shit? I was going to buy one of those eventually, goddamn.
Everyone should have a Hi-Power or clone thereof, and just about anyone can afford one.
>The littoral combat ship Montgomery is once again in need of repairs after suffering a hull breach in rough waves off Florida. Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca Haggard, a spokeswoman for Naval Surface Force Pacific, told Military.com the ship sustained a crack to its hull while departing Naval Station Mayport, Florida, under orders to sortie Tuesday ahead of Hurricane Matthew's landfall on the coast.
>The mishap is under investigation, but a Navy official said it's strongly suspected that the ship collided with its tugboat. Ships are often ordered out of port as a precaution ahead of significant storms. Haggard said the Montgomery was not the only ship told to sortie Oct. 4. Ahead of the storm, conditions were already choppy: Naval Station Mayport recorded maximum wind speeds of 28 miles per hour and maximum gusts of 38 miles per hour on Oct. 4.
>The ship first experienced a seawater leak in its hydraulic cooling system, apparently due to a faulty seal. Then, later that day, it took a casualty to one of its gas turbine engines, Navy officials said. The combined damage was enough that the ship abandoned its planned transit to its San Diego homeport and set course instead for Mayport for repairs. As a result of this stint in Mayport, the ship was forced to cancel its much-anticipated appearance at Fleet Week in San Francisco, an event that began Oct. 3.

All aluminium warships are the future gaiz!
Atleast it's better than Armata.
This is birthing defects. But Armata is a dead end, the future is in drones where America leads. Russia may have unmanned self propelled artillery like 2S35 but American Black Ops has unmanned FLYING artillery.
