I think it was an RRA concept for a piston system... It was only in production for a short period and there are a few in the wild.

It's nice, though

/k/ I want to do a super compact 10/22 take down and I'm not sure which way to go about it.

I know I want a folding stock for it, and I want it suppressed. I already have my trust set up with four Form 1 stamps on it. Probably going to go with silencer shop (unless you convince me otherwise) to deal with the can purchase.

Basically, wat do?

Pic Related, options to follow.

The four ways I've thought to do it, based upon current prices (some roughly) from around the web.
>>
>>31619122
if you can hold one of the agp stocks before going all in on it. i had one and hated it. the main issue was it was small as fuck. i mean you want that cause the point is being compact but it really felt like it was sized for a child. other minor complaints were the thickness of the pistolgrip, the hinge doesnt lock when its folded, and the screw hole for the stock was just plastic. which meant you could over tighten it and damage the stock.
>>
>>31619122
Get an integrally suppressed 10/22 TD barrel end. Will be shorter and better balanced.

Or go all out and SBR your 10/22. Not like there's much of a benefit to using a 16in barrel with .22.

I finally bought a Mosin, my first rifle, and I can't find a single store within an hour that sells bullets for this antique piece of shit. I should have never listened to your bullshit and went to a real gun forum for people who actually own guns

>what can I do to clean this .30-06 I bought today
strip it, use a non abrasive cloth to clean off any reside, then put a drop of oil on any moving parts, run a patch with hoppes or something on it down the bore, repeat with dry patches until they come out clean, then run a patch with oil down the bore, put a few drops of oil on a clean cloth and apply it to the exterior metal of the rifle.

How viable as a weapon are sharpened nails in combat when both combatants are bare-handed?
35 posts and 9 images submitted.
>>
>>31618250
Nails would be decent stabbing weapons, but would keep you from being able to make a proper fist.
Also they're too flimsy to make gouges without breaking or bending

In a word. No

Would C-RAM/Phalanx mounted on top of a M113 or M1 chassis be a suitable AA gun or would PIVADS be a better solution.
40 posts and 12 images submitted.
>>
Couldn't use one.

C-RAM's need a massive external generator.
>>
>>31618159

Mounting a 20mm gun onto a M1 abrams chassis is like mounting a .22 to the deck of the Titanic.

>>31618210

C-RAM needs a ton of shit and an M1 body could probably fit it all while keeping up with other armored vehicles in the US's inventory.

European here with a weird question. Do shooting ranges allow you to use a custom picture as a target? Like a picture of President Obama or a random celebrity?
15 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>31618136
Generally yes, unless it's controversial. If they're a good businessman they don't want other customers getting offended by someone else's targets.
>>
The answer is "Maybe"

Some ranges allow it, some do not.

Why is it that whenever a member of Delta or DEVGRU are listed, they're always senior enlisted? Obviously I wouldn't expect an E-4 or even E-5 to be partaking in some of those missions, but are those teams really composed of guys who are at minimum E-7+? That just seems odd to me, but then again I always hear how different they are compared to the rest of the military.

Can anyone here shed some light on why that is and how they function as a military unit, if they even function as one?
40 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Enlisted ranks are throw away ranks

High value jobs get senior enlisted ranks thrown their way at an early age as further incentive to stick around. This is why you see 33 year old E-8s and above.
>>
you have to be a e-6 minimum to be on an ODA
>>
>>31618069
I've seen SGTs assigned to ODAs.
