Does /k/ prefer 7.62mm or 7.92mm?
>>31641499
What salt rifles come chambered on 7.92 and will I have to sell both of my kidneys to keep one fed?
>>31641499
8mm is a dead round, no military is actively using it, its a relic of the past.
>>31642626
technically speaking 7.62x39 is actually 7.92x39
For others stuck in CA, have any of you actually gotten these things to work? Got one in the mail today, and it most definitely does not work across all mags.
I adjusted it with a regular steel mag and it worked fine, but then I put a pmag in and it literally just drops free as if I have a normal mag release. And if I tighten it down further so the pmag actually retains, I can't remove the steel mag without breaking out the included wonder wrench.
>>31641477
Is it supposed to be compliant with this years state law or next? How is it supposed to function?
Also, get a raddlock before they stop selling them in CA next year.
>>31641799
Unless you're going featureless or "not complying", you need something like this by end of this year since BBs are now illegal.
If you look at the pic, there is that protruding piece of metal off the mag release. Basically you can't push it in all the way unless you break open the upper.
>>31641865
is it really the end of this year? thought it was next year since you got till 2018 or late 2017 to register
i dont think you can even register now if you wanted to
What are best weapons in mythology?
Athena's shield. Guaranteed to get you stoned on sight, and not in the good way.
Mjollnir was pretty badass. And the spear Odin impaled himself with for a week on the Yggdrasil. Also that lead spear that Bellerophon stabbed into the Chimera's throat so it melted and suffocated on molten metal. Mythology has the most badass ways to kill people. Remember that time God dropped a shower of burning sulphur on two cities? Good times.

Hey /k/ prove to me that .300 blackout is ballisticly superior to 30 carbine
Protip: they are ballisticly equivalent so you can't!

Fires heavier bullets at faster velocities. How is this a question?
BC of a 208 A Max = .648
BC of whatever you fire out of a turdy turdy = turdy

Is this how people came to the conclusion that a 123gr 7.62x39 is exactly the same as a 160gr .30-30 because they have the same trajectory?
Hey /k/,
New to precision shooting here, and I need some help here before I throw my rifle in a lake.
I got my first scoped rifle, a used Remington 700 SPS Stainless a couple weeks ago, and after some TLC including changing the set of scope rings, I'm currently trying to zero the rifle.
The rifle is chambered in 7mm Rem Mag, so I'm zeroing at 60 yards because between 60 and 100 yards, point of impact only changes about .2 inches, and only changes 2.4 inches at 200 yards.
Anyway, I've never zeroed a scope before, so really I'm not very sure what I'm doing, so I'm going to cut to the chase and give a tl;dr.
Rem 700, 7mm Rem Mag, 1/4 inch scope clicks, shooting about five inches low and three inches left at 60 yards, and I'm really not sure which way to click my turrets.
I've calculated out that 1 MOA at 60 yards is roughly 1/2 inch, and using an MOA change formula, it seems like I need to apply 26 clicks of elevation and 20 clicks of windage.
The thing is, which direction do I turn my turrets to adjust my reticle to be on target?
Pic related, but not my rifles.
>>31641350
Also I should add, the scope is a Bushnell Banner 4-16x, and I'm using 150 grain Remington Core Lokt bullets.
>>31641350
If you're that far out before zeroing I would check to make sure the scope and rings are lined up properly first.
Your scope should also have the direction marked on the turret.
>>31641350
Sight it in at 100yd so you don't have to think so much about MOA adjustments.
When the turret has a "R" with and arrow, you turn it in the direction of the arrow to move bullet impact to the right.
also, do yourself a solid and spend some money on a decent scope.
Self defense .45 ACP ammo recommendations?
Also 45 thread. This is my first 1911 and first 45. I love it
Gold Dot or Federal HST
>>31641202
230 grain federal HST

Mass versus velocity, reliability over performance.
Contrary to what you may hear, the 1911 is stupidly reliable. If you feed it right.
Shoot yours a lot. find out what works, and carry that.
Image related.
That is a mildly reworked 1944 Colt, in a 1930's SD Myres holster.
I've worn that for well over half my life.
Anyone got those brilliant first aid guides?
There were some on gunshot wounds, explosive trauma, blunt force trauma, hypo/hyperthermia (with two black gents snuggling) and one on creating a first aid kit.
Cheers!

Lack the guides, but I am an EMT-B and EMT-T, so I can answer questions I guess.

Considering buying a Steyr SSG 08 in .308 as my first rifle. Thoughts?

Is your penis small or do you play CS?

So you're new to firearms?
Looking for a video I saw a long time ago of a us marine firing a .50 Cal Rifle with 1 outstretched arm. Anyone have it / know if it, or something similar ? Also thoughts on this.
Thanks.

Yep.
Basically a naval-gun sized gatling cannon. 600 rounds per minute. Fires radar-guided manoeuverable air-burst shells.
China you so crazy.
Meanwhile, China is testing their new ground-based air- and ordnance-defense gun. SA-2 76mm AA autocannon.
