What's a good bolt action rifle chambered in 5.56?
I'm looking for something reliable that can shoot 5.56 and .223 besides an AR
Mossberg MVP LR, Tikka T3, CZ
I've heard issues with the MVP on accuracy though.
>>31768381
I really like the little CZ, seems like a decent little rifke
>>31768381
I shoot milsurp 55gr and 62gr FMJ/FMJ-P 5,56 and all sorts of .223 Rem in my CZ527 Varmint. Works great.

I mean its an MP.. but at that price you can't really go wrong. is the ammo at least brass case?

I want to buy my friend a blade for Christmas. He's a huge history nut. Any suggestions?
>>31768090
Swiss K31 Bayonet. They're pretty easy to find as surplus and really neat. Cost is around $50. If you want to splurge, get an engineer's/pioneer's bayonet. They're between $200 and $300 and are distinctive for their saw pattern.
>>31768090
What time period of history?`

He really likes medieval and Roman stuff. But also likes large imperial powers in the 18 and 17th century.
Relatively new to firearms, only ever used random .357 revolvers.
I am considering buying a Mosin, but I do not know how widely they are carried, and if 7.62x54rr is easy/cheap to find.
Suggestions?

Anything but milsurp.
>>31768061
What do you want to do with your gun? Home defense, plinking, hunting, sex?
start with a .22.
That said, Mosins and their ammo are pretty plentiful - once you're used to plinking, it's definitely a cheap way to move up.
Does /k/ agree with any of the precedents set by this case?

But the right of Americans to bear arms for the purpose of maintaining a well-regulated militia was supported by the attorneys representing the US.
So no short barrel shotguns, derringers, or anything that would be dumb to use in war. But that also implies that completely deregulated civilian ownership of giggle switches.

Does or has anybody ever owns/ed ones of these? I was thinking of maybe getting one as a poorfag CC gun. I am 6'0 and weigh 235 lbs so I don't think concealing it would be an issue for me. I was just curious if there are any glaring issues I might run into that I am unaware of being new to Concealed Carry. If not this I was thinking of maybe a used Kel Tec P11 since they are in the same price bracket. Any tips/insight on these two funs or on CC'ing in general would be welcome.
>>31767748
My friend CC's one in a sticky holster. His runs well, but keep in mind you must flip the safety to the upward position to disengage it, which is a little awkward.
I have one, I have only put 50 or so rounds through it, because I was having feeding issues. Maybe I was limp wristing it, or it needed a break in.. but I lost interest in it, considering my other guns have had no issues and ran 100% from out of the box.
In short, it is doable, but quality may be hit or miss. I'd recommend a keltek instead
>>31767879
Thanks anon. In all honesty I was probably gonna carry it with an empty chamber and just rack it when I need it and ignoring the safety all together. Given that you said yours hasn't run all that well concerns me.
>>31767748
>I am 6'0 and weigh 235 lb
first you should lose wieght so you have self worth defending.
Forget the Mosin Nagant. Should the Savage Axis XP .308 be the go-to cheap rifle?
>Mosins now $250+
>surplus 54R getting more expensive and hard to find
>.308 much easier to find
>Savage comes with optic

K so my LGS has a norinco made trench gun for 250ish bergerbuks. Wat do?
Pic semi related.

i was looking at 97s a bit today, are there any good quality repros done in trench gun style?

Sup /k/,
German here, would like some advise.
I've been looking at getting a .22lr rifle for cheap shooting. I was looking at the pictured Karabiner TU 33/40. I know it's manufactured by Norinco so I'm not expecting a fantastic rifle, but for 300 Euros I don't think I'll care that much if it's not the best.
If you've got better suggestions for a cheap .22lr rifle I'd be more than happy. Keep in mind that I'll have to be able to get the gun here in Germany however.
I usually purchase from Frankonia, but their range of .22lr rifles is limited:

>>31767641
That looks a lot better than a Mossberg Plinkster but I think the Plinkster is the cheapest you can go with a .22LR. Look into it
>>31767641
At risk of sounding like a low nationalist, save your money and invest in a Henry levergun. Lever actions are *so* much fun. Pick one up and work the action and you;ll understand instantly. Much faster reloading for chasing those tin cans around too.
>>31767697
Cheapest Henry is only about 550 so it's not that bad pricewise, but I'd have to try a lever action first to see how I like it.
>>31767663
I'm guessing the Mossberg 702 is the Plinkster? I found it for 250 Euros.
Is this rifle any good?
Century Arms C308 sporter
It's $695 at the local gunshop. Does anyone have one? Are they reliable?
ITT Cheap guns for the happening
>>31767639
they are shit, get a ptr91
>>31767639
I got one with wood furniture in pretty great condition for 700. get rid of the steel mags, buy the aluminum ones from HKParts.net. I got 10 of them for $2 each.
>>31767648
>>31767659 (is me)
Right on time.
Honestly, I fired my buddy's PTR91 and my C308 back to back a few times. And my C308 had a more consistent and better group, and had a significantly softer recoil. even he agreed.
What are the chances of something like this being adopted? Having a stock that significantly reduces how much your gun wobbles around while shooting sounds like it could be a massive advantage.

>>31767619
If they can miniaturize and ruggidize it, sure thing.
Before all the inevitable posts about "lol xbaux hueg", the thing pictured above is a prototype on a range and nobody is talking about putting *that specific* chassis into service. Got to make the prototypes and then iterate improvements until it's field ready.
>>31767619
Any kind of centrifugal force stabilizer is going to also make the gun harder to move around. There's nothing stopping the camera rigs we already have from being slapped on a rifle but for little utility and benefit.
>>31767619
Just buy an AN-94.
Building a stock which is 2x bigger than the actual gun is just plain stupid.
How would you run an anti insurgency campaign in an sub saharan african country?
>>31767488
I think mobility would be the biggest factor. How quick can I deploy my fighters to engage active threats? I would most definitely include quick troop carrying vehicles and some form of modified ATV.
>>31767488
By remembering that the only loyalties in Africa are to European deposits.
Get the government to play ball with whatever company wants their resources and watch the insurgency fade away.
Set up a brutal dictatorship made of men willing to be manipulated by western interests.
Then I would take this new leadership on a trip to the wealthy parts of the Middle East to show them what their country can become if they're willing to be proper bitches and not greedy bitches.
