A man has broken into your home. You don't know what he wants, but you know he has a gun.
You grab a knife to defend yourself. It's an 8 inch serrated steak knife from your kitchen.
You hide behind the door of the bedroom as he moves through your house. He pokes his head in the door and looks around, but doesn't see you. He turns away and continues creeping down the hallway.
You sneak out of the room, treading lightly in your socks. You come up behind him, you have only one chance at this.
He's holding the gun in his right hand, it's a Smith & Wesson M&P handgun. He's a couple inches taller and looks a bit stronger than you, no doubt he'd have the advantage in a fight. He's wearing a camouflage T-shirt, cargo shorts tac boots.
You only have a few seconds to act. You have to figure out how to stab him without him spinning around and killing you with his gun.
Where do you strike? Going for the back, you might hit a rib, deflecting your blade. And it might not totally disable him anyway. Going for the neck you have similar problems. Your blade could deflect off the spine, or end up missing altogether. Going for the lower back you avoid the ribs, but he wouldn't die right away.
Trying to reach around and slice his neck, he would be alerted of your presence and could potentially fight you off.
What's the best way to do this?

How can i legally obtain a handgun in texas as an 18 yr old, the law states i can buy rifles and shotguns but i cannot purchase a handgun until im of 21 years old
i cant really get someone to buy it for me due to it being illegal to sell/give a handgun to an 18 year old.

Individually, the US army soldier is nothing special. But as an organization, it is a beast. No other country currently have the logistics and mobey to deploy boots on the ground anywhere around the globe at a moments notice like the US Army. Logistics wins wars.

Why dont all tanks have the engine at the front? You get a big piece of metal that helps cover the crew and a gigantic hatch on the back for a quick and easy way to get in and out.
I can see that visibility for the driver could be bad, but in todays world with cameras and screens that can be easily avoided.

Lets think about it for 1 minute.
You got armor in the front, the place where you will be shot most likely.
Now, if we put the engine there, we sacrifice armor (but still have the engine as "additional" armor).
Now you get shot, a regular tank it might bounce or not penetrate. Tank still works.
With the engine in front, you get hit, the chance of penetration is higher, your engine gets shredded, your tank cant move and is now inoperable.
Engine in front is a shit idea.
Another point is that thermal signature in front would reeeaaalllly suck if you try to attack dug in enemys.
