How the fuck do you guys learn shit about guns and brands so fast?
The only way I can learn information is to read it twice, read it a third time while writing down key points, and then read through those once more. Then MAYBE I'll remember 95% of it for future reference.
You guys seem to read an article about an experimental weapon or military conflict like one time and then remember every detail forever.

Rude.
What went right? Why is it superior to Admiral Kuznetsov and its sister ship, Liauning?
We saw how bad the Kuznetsov is and Liauning is pretty much a chinese copy of a Kuznetsov
>>31786830
Yes quite the ship my curry friend. In excellent condition as well, even the toilets look like they've never been used.

Is the Indian navy not an absolute disaster though?
I decided to make this thread since I noticed there are quite a few uninformed folk on this "weapons" board. This is an accurate depiction of the Sten MK2. Please Sticky this so that we can decrease clutter in the catalog and discuss more serious matters such as military experiences.
TRHERES ALREADY 3 THREADS OF THE STEN MK2

How do you wear your boots /k/? Bloused, unbloused, half laced? What kind of boots do you suggest for what purpose? Reliable brands?
>>31785491
not with those pants desu
>>31785491
I use boot bands. Black is the strongest, not trying to trigger anyone, but the green bands they isdue to us are shit and loose tgeir elasticity faster for some reason and begin to unravel the yarn twist.

Hello civilian and man with no taste, your going it wrong, and it looks gay.
How common is hunting with semi autos? Other than hogs it doesn't seem to be too common?
>>31785356
Bolt action is much more common but using semi autos isn't unheard of, especially on smaller game
>>31785356
For me it would feel too much "overkill" to go hunt with a semi-auto, but maybe that's just me
>>31785356
I know a ton of people locally that get their deer with semi autos. The problem is that they weigh and cost more and that accuracy can be an issue for longer shots.
TL;DR bolt actions are cheaper, lighter, and far more common in hunting calibers.
>gee anon, you're not going to let Russia steam roll my country, are you?
How can the Baltic states defend themselves from Russia? It seems like Russia could steam roll them in 48 hours if they wanted to and that NATO/US forces there only make them more of a target. Wouldn't remaining neutral be in the Baltic states' best interests? So I guess in short, what do you guys think is the best strategy to defend the Baltics?
Give the butthurtbelt to Russia, who gives a shit about them
>>31784589
They're a great place to station future nukes though, that way we can nuke Moscow and St. Petersburg in less than ten minutes!
>>31784581
Join NATO: you have a chance at being self autonomous if russia attacks and nato wins. Its also a deterrent to russia attacking you.
Stay neutral: No deterrent, no chance at final victory.
No, its not in their best interest to stay neutral. Ukraine was neutral.
A friend of mine's great grandfather just died. While helping his dad go through his stuff, he found an MP-40. The great grandfather was in the Battle of the Bulge but never told anyone in his family that he brought a gun back. I can't find any proof that it's registered. What should my friend do?
>>31783982
He should leave it in your hands for safe keeping for being such a good friend.
>>31783982
you should get your kid to pose with it like the dummy from last week. you'll probably get more responses.

Hey guys,
read the stic/k/y and I thought this might be somewhat of an interesting topic
I got into pic related a coupla months ago for entertainment purposes, like to take it camping and shine it at stuff [safely] (/sci/fag).
I also own an SKS but that's besides the point.
My question is, would this be a feasible defensive tool?
I was recently nearly mugged at knife point because I don't live in the nicest of areas and had to run.
The particular laser I have pulses just over 3W of power which can effectively blind someone for life at over 100 yards/meters, but can be dilated or 'unfocused' to a """nonlethal""" wavelength.
In terms of effectiveness, how suitable would something like this work at engaging someone from a distance.
Or does the risk outweigh the benefit?
Thanks guys
>>31783981
another thing that I should mention is that anyone who uses these things for shining at aircraft or automobiles should do the world a huge favor and shine it in their eyes point blank
>>31783981
>>31784006
AND ONE more thing, when I say "effectively blinding someone at over 100 yards/meters" this literally entails briefly passing it over someone or something's eyes for a fraction of a second

I'm not from America but are baseball bats really this powerful of weapons? I always thought they looked too light but the way Abraham and Glenn died on The Walking Dead made me think maybe they're actually good weapons.
>>31783450
You realize how heavy a wooden baseball bat is, right?
Last I checked, it can hold it's own against a metal sword, depending on what type it is.
Bats will fuck your shit up. Cheap, lightweight and effective. I prefer wood bats over the metal. Wood bats can be customized to really fuck shit up. Barbewire, nails, studs. Etc

Hammers are superior because close combat.
Hi /k/, I don't normally post here so forgive me if this topic is b8worthy;I honestly don't mean it to be.
I've been following the election and it frightens me that hillary might actually win over trump, I have a wife and two kids and if shit really hits the fan I want to be able to protect them. Now I own a pistol, but that's not really enough if something really bad comes down the pipe, so I wanted to pick up a couple of rifles; however, my current dilemma is which platform to invest my hard earned cash into, which would be better for defending my family, etc. We're white in a mixed neighborhood, and we've had our trump signs stolen a couple of times, had some terse exchanges with the neighbors as well (they're staunchly pro hillary), so the concern is justified I think.
So which should I get, AR-15, or one of it's variants, or an AK-47, or one of it's variants. I'm looking for safety (please no exploding, shiftily made guns), durability, access to ammo, and power (who knows what you might come up against, body armor, etc).
Also, how many mags/rounds should I be keeping in storage? I've heard 10 for each weapon as far as mags but I'd like to hear your advice.
I realize that I'm a novice when it comes to firearms, especially compared to some of you guys, so forgive me if I sound like an idiot.
Thanks /k/omrades

Get a Glock 19 / 17 and get 3000 rounds and go practice.
Buy a palmetto state armory ar15 upper and lower and put them together, directions are as easy as pushing pins and watching YouTube. Or order a complete palmetto state armory rifle, up to you but the former will be cheaper and could end up with a pretty decent gun of you track the specials they have especially around Xmas and holidays. Buy a cleaning kit and 3000 rounds of 5.56 and buy 1000 rounds of green tip if you can find them. Get good and practice with both, then buy a trijicon rmr for the Glock, and a aimpoint PRO for the ar15. Emphasis on getting good.
Shit will not hit the fan, there won't be another AWB, but I live in cali so we are already cucked here.

Just got this for my 18th birthday. Legal In my state. What's your edc and any words of advice for a first time handgun owner.
Practice.
For that you will need cheap ammo. And for that you will need:
