I just started relaoding 9mm and it's going fine but now I want to get some .223 competition ammo and the question I have is do I need crimped bullets? I'm going to buy a cimping die but does it need a bullet with a crimping groove? What diffrence does the groove on the bullet in terms of precision and firmess make?

>>31820092
No need to crimp .223, especially anything you want to be accurate.
>>
>>31820110
couln't that lead to a bullet setback durring feeding?
>>
>>31820092
Not an expert on reloading, but a "crimping groove" is called a cannelure.

Just build one m8. It's easy and fun and you'll know the internals of your weapon better that way.
Nothing wrong with the Oracle but if you want to be a gun babby the M&P15 Sport II and Ruger AR556 are better.

Building rifles is an out-dated meme. It used to be that pre-assembled rifles fell into two categories: entry level shit and high end wakery. Now, for any rifle somebody could build, you can find the same thing in a pre-assembled rifle for the same price or less. Lots of mid-tier rifles on the market now that there weren't a few years ago.

Hello, would you like to play a game of Global Thermonuclear War?

In other news, russian state news is full of shit. More at 11.

How are the RUs able to produce weapons so cheaply?

>M270 MLRS costs $2.3m per unit
>a single M26 rocket costs $15,000
>a MGM-140 SSM guided missile costs $280,000
>a BM-21 Grad costs $2,500
>a 122mm rocket costs $1.75
>you can field literally 920 BM-21s for the cost of a single MLRS, which is fifty battalions worth of rocket artillery
>you can buy 8700 grad rockets for the cost of a single US rocket
>you can buy 160,000 grad rockets for the cost of a SSM guided missile

how is any of this remotely cost effective for the US?

You don't have to be cost effective when you have the world's largest GDP.

sure, but if you have ten MLRS systems ready to fire and the enemy is shooting back with nine thousand BM-21s you're kind of hosed

Don't, H&K fucked up the CETME design really bad. The originals made by CETME themselves were better quality than H&K. H&K used shitty polymer materials, a confusing drum sight, and reversed the controls.

I am looking for a single stack 9mm for edc. I am going to betting my CCW permit soon and want a gun I can carry with me every day.

I have a Glock 19, but don't plan on carrying it every day (in low threat areas) especially during the summer.

I was looking into a ruger LC9s pro or an M&P shield because it looks like they're around $330 on buds gun shop.

I don't want a walther because of the mag release, don't want a glock43 because of the price and I already have a glock. The Kahr CM9 looks nice especially because it's small and can fit in a pocket, but I heard the takedown is difficult and I don't know much about them.

XD grip safety seems stupid and it's more expensive than the Ruger and the Shield.

I heard the trigger on the LC9s is better than the Shield and that "shield has a shit trigger" is this true?

Also I am not going to get a safety on my carry gun obviously, but someone said that you shouldn't dick around with the lc9s pro because it has like a 4.5lb trigger pull and no safety.

I am also open to opinions about things like the LCP and Bodyguard in .380, or small revolvers but I don't have experience with these at all.

for 9mm, Get shield, trigger aint great but not too terrible. Apex triggers available if it bothers you that much.
For .380, get LCP. Only option

I have both, love both. Carry shield everyday. LCP on standby in case shield is too big

Shield *used* to have a shit trigger. It's gotten slightly better over years thanks to minor revisions to the sear. It still benefits IMMENSELY from an Apex DCAEK and trigger upgrade.

Of the ones you mention, I'd be looking at the Shield or the G43. Shield is a solid all-around gun whose primary issues revolve around the bad-to-okay trigger (easily fixed with the aforementioned Apex kit) and the fact that the mag release rusts like a motherfucker if exposed to heavy humidity/sweat and isn't kept lubricated.

Personally, I like my Shield, but if I had to do it over again I might have gone G43. Shield aftermarket support is pretty decent, but it'll never match Glock's even if it beat it to market by like 2 years.

Too much Dosh, the Zumwalt is launching in less than a year and does the same job.

>>31818911

A better anology would be spending the effort to restart P-51 Mustang production for the COIN role because it has better performance than the Super Tucano, even though said performance increase would not at all be worth spending the billions it would take just to shit out a handful of aircraft for a specific role. The Iowas are basically less efficient Burkes when going by their raw combat capabilities.
>>
Because experts stupidly think a little armor is useless, the focus on air power meant battleships and artillery never got the funding or attention they deserve, and because the Zumwalt basically is a modern battleship(without armor sadly) with tiny primary guns that are much more accurate and can reach out nearly a hundred miles. No clue what railgun capabilities will do for it.

If every infantry battalion had artillery back up they'd never need airstrikes. If our ships had just A LITTLE armor the USS Cole would have laughed it off.

The concept of not getting spotted or hit is a good one, but that concept applies to soldiers too... and soldiers wear armor. The "all or nothing" armor scheme is still relevant in the modern age but ships have no armor anymore and a single hit can mission kill a billion dollar piece of hardware.

Its not fucking right.

You have to fight your whole graduating class from high school they are all armed with similar sords

Blade 1 turns you into a really pissed off Dominican sugar cane plantation worker

Blade 2 gives you type one diabetes but also makes you double jointed and able to move like a snake

Blade 3 turns you into Russell Crowe from gladiator, comes with an mf doom mask

blade 4 gains power every time you kill someone but becomes increasingly sticky

Choose wisely

Knife 2 gives you bee mastery, you have the ability to talk to bees and access to their delicious honey, although they may not listen to you

Knife 3 comes with a fucking sick tattoo of a wolf

Hello internet wizards.

I am new to the rifle game and I want to know what the best round///rifle to purchase for practicing and ulitimately hunting deer and moose. Is there one rifle to handle both? Obviously one that isn't going to have me hunting a bleeding elk, and one that isn't going to leave me with meat paste from a deer.

Thanks!
